in peril

Summary:

Hermione was back at Hogwarts, the last place she remembered, but there was something wrong when she disappeared once more. Thrown into darkness before appearing time and again in front of Hogwarts and a wizard. She found herself back decades before she was born with no recollection of her life.

Chapter 1: the beginning

Chapter Text

She was lost in his eyes. They were dark, vast, and an endless abyss of pain. It was the first thing she saw when she finally came to her senses.

One minute, she was strolling pass the bridge to Hogwarts, and stood where Voldemort vanished into thin air. His soul was neither there nor anywhere.

He was looking down at her as she laid on the cold bricked ground. His expression was unreadable and cold. Curls fell down to his eyes. He brushed them aside as he circled her.

"Are you a witch? A sorcerer by chance?"

Scared and confused, she shook her head.

"Where are you from?"

"Hogwarts."

"No, you aren't. As a Prefect, I know everyone in attendance, and you are not one of them. Your clothes, what is it that you are wearing? It is quite hideous, might I add."

She was wearing a jumper and jeans. It was actually very comfortable.

Before she could answer his question, she was forced back in between space and time. His eyes were just as dark as before when she opened hers.

"It's you again with that hideous clothing."

Her head was pounding. It felt as if her head had hit the ground beneath her.

"There's something about this spot, yes? Or is it me you are drawn to?"

She groaned in pain.

"You're a witch, yes?"

She nodded but was forced again to lose her senses.

He was much taller, thinner and more pale than before. "You, again. I have been expecting you. Head Boy now. If you are truly from Hogwarts, you know what it means."

The pain in her head had worsened.

She was pulled once more from his reality. Not much about him had changed in appearance.

"It's the night when most students go home for the holidays. There's not many that stays behind. If I hold you, will you stay?"

She was forced to her limits. She wasn't sure why this was happening.

He wasn't there when she opened her eyes. Long arms went around her waist. The hard ground beneath her wasn't hard ground at all but him. The agonizing pain made her curl against him.

"If I hold you, will you stay?"

She was helpless. She was lost to time and space.

"Nothing works."

She felt his whisper against her skin. His fingers were cold around her neck. She felt the pressure of it pressing on her pulse.

She couldn't take much more, but she was forced to get lost in between their worlds.

He was holding onto her tightly. Her legs could barely support her. The pain was too much. She was forced to forget when his lips crushed hers. His kiss was rough as his hands underneath her jumper.

She barely kept her senses but knew it was him by the way he held her and the harshness of his kiss. He tasted of Butterbeer, if she recalled correctly.

She was in agony when she came back to him. His robe was undone, and he wrapped her in his arms. He smelled of the Forbidden Forest and Unicorn blood.

His kiss tasted of iron, metal and purity.

Still, she was forced out of his arms and back to oblivion.

He had a bit of scruff on his face now and looked more mature than she remembered. He was in muggle clothing.

She whimpered against his kiss. It tasted of Phoenix tears. How she knew, she wasn't sure.

She collapsed in his arms. She was finally there to stay.
