All we've worked for is about to be vaporized.
I look up, and I see the slow form of the atomic bomb falling towards my body.
And time slows down.
I can sense the others resigning from their posts to pack it in.
Breath has already fallen to sleep.
Consumption is waiting for the end.
Soul is shedding tears.
And Brain...?
He continues to look up at the bomb.
He's just staring at it.
He takes in all of the little bumps and trinkets on it- the radioactive symbol, some Russian letters, and the screws and metal plates...
all hurtling towards him, ready to eradicate everything we worked to.
...
Is this... really it?
This is how it ends?
A blast of atomic radiation, ripping my skin off my bones?
No.
No, I won't allow that.
No, we haven't come this far for it to end.
I am a fucking HUMAN.
God built me to be in his image, so I'll be fucking DAMNED if I don't step up to this task!
We did NOT survive several pandemics, several world wars, gunshots, bombs, shattered bones, meteors, supernovae just to die to this... this stupid contraption!
Inside his body, Jacob can feel an intense feeling of pain that it knocks him down, even as time is slowed.
His energy is being drained from his body to... something.
His body glows brightly with a green aura, and his eyes shine brightly against the night sky.
A green silhouette of Jacob forms around him, shining with a burning passion to Survive
A burst of cyan energy bursts from Jacob's body, wrapping around the Earth several times as it coats every human left on the face of the planet.
And time flows.
The bomb hits the pavement, and a split-second later, all he can see is another sun.
It's so bright, he has to shield his eyes...
And when he drops his arms, he looks around him at the chaos around him.
The city was annihalated.
green particles are settling over the ground.
and everything is gone...
...except for humanity.
Jacob stands there, completely unharmed.
His skin glows a light green, and he realizes what just happened.
Through sheer fucking determination, he singlehandedly eradicated the threat of death by radiation by producing a shockwave that affected all 8.1 billion humans on earth, and activated their immune system to fight against radiation a thousand times faster and a thousand times more effectively.'
Jacob's eyes glinted green and he smiled.
