Work Text:
Wonwoo has been waiting for Mingyu for two hours but he is nowhere to be seen. Mingyu promised to meet him in front of the supermarket near their house to shop for groceries together.
Wonwoo lets out a sigh. Mingyu probably has lots of work and couldn't make it. Worried that the mart will be closed soon, he rushes inside and shop alone. It was not a big deal but he knows Mingyu would be upset knowing that he does not wait for him but a couple of hours is just too long.
It was freezing cold outside. He could not hold stand it any longer as he gets cold easily.
It's not like the groceries are heavy but the bitterness he feels adds up to the weight he's carrying along the lonely way back home.
Wonwoo spots Mingyu's shoes at the front door. The sorrowness soon fades away knowing that his loved one is already home. He enters delightfully and his eyes meet the figure he knows too well.
Mingyu is talking to someone on the phone. Wonwoo walks to the kitchen and put down the goods on the table. His eyes follow Mingyu's around the house as he waits patiently for the latter to end his call.
Mingyu put down his phone, his eyes shine brighter than thousand of stars in the night sky. The corner of his mouth curls up into a smile, causing Wonwoo's heart to skip a beat.
"Where have you been?"
Wonwoo's eyes never leave the younger boy's eyes. How could one looks so effortlessly stunning?
"Oh hyung, I've been out with my friends!"
That words shatter Wonwoo's heart into pieces. He didn't wait for him outside for two hours thinking that he had tons of work to do just to hear him going out with friends instead.
"You....what!?"
Wonwoo is bewildered. He doesn't want to sound furious but the fact that Mingyu acted like nothing happened angers him.
"I was just out with friends, why are you mad!?"
Wonwoo scoffs in disbelief. Mingyu is in no position to be angry. How could he shamelessly raise his voice at Wonwoo? He is the one at fault.
"I waited for you???"
"What are you talking about? I met my friends just this once after years, what's wrong with you!?"
Mingyu grits his teeth in annoyance. Wonwoo could see the fiery gaze in Mingyu's eyes.
"You are the one who made the promise!"
Mingyu pauses momentarily.
Promise?
It takes him few seconds to process the word. Only now he remembers the promise he made with Wonwoo.
Being such a jerk to Wonwoo is the last thing he wanted but his emotion gets the best of him. What he said later only worsen the situation.
"COME ON! WE SEE EACH OTHER EVERY FUCKING DAYS! WHAT'S THE FUSS ABOUT IT?!"
"SO!? ARE YOU TIRED OF SEEING ME NOW?"
Wonwoo's eyes are bloodshots. Tears could roll down his cheeks any second. Mingyu is taken aback. What he said came out harsher in reality. The bitterness of his words lingers in his throat.
"Hyung, I'm—"
Wonwoo walks away before Mingyu could finish his sentence. He doesn't even want to look at Mingyu's face any longer. Wonwoo doesn't want to be selfish but Mingyu could have been nicer to him.
Wonwoo can hear Mingyu's footsteps closing in. Mingyu leans against the door. A faint knockings follow shortly after.
"Hyung...."
Wonwoo just wanted to be alone. He had enough. He is too tired to argue with him.
The morning came.
Wonwoo acts as if Mingyu is not there. He completely ignores the latter's presence.
"Hyung, I made you breakfast!"
Mingyu smiles brightly. Wonwoo is still getting the butterflies from his endearing smile but he can't just simply forget what Mingyu has said to him last night.
"Hyung, are you not hungry??"
Mingyu shouts from the kitchen as he catches sight of the older returning to his room without touching the food he made.
"Shit why must his food smells so good..."
Wonwoo mumbles under his breath. His stomach is growling.
He tosses and turns around in his bed only to get on his two feet feeling hungry as hell. He decides to at least grab some cookies. He will get stomachache if he skips breakfast.
"Hyung do you want to eat??"
Mingyu asks concernly as he spots Wonwoo coming out from his room. He knows Wonwoo will get sick if he skips breakfast.
Wonwoo only walks silently to the kitchen. He does not even care to spare him a glance. He notices the breakfast Mingyu made for him under the cover. It is still left untouched right across from where Mingyu is sitting.
Wonwoo drools inside his mouth. For a moment he even tought of just throwing away his pride and devours the food right at the spot. After all Mingyu is his favourite cook. But no, he won't give in to his emotion. He is persistant on just eating cookies.
He grabs a jar of cookies from the drawer. Mingyu feels disappointed as he observes Wonwoo from across the dining table. Wonwoo has never rejected everything that Mingyu made for him before. Serves him right for making Wonwoo upset.
Wonwoo returns to his room with the jar. He doesn't want be near Mingyu. The intense gaze from Mingyu's puppy eyes will only make him feels guilty than he already is.
"Hyung...."
Finally, the first meal of the day. Wonwoo's hand reaches the lid in lightning speed to unfasten it. He struggles for minutes but the cookies never see the light of day.
He eventually gives up.
There is just one last ray of hope for him.
"Mingyu...."
Wonwoo pokes Mingyu's shoulder in tiny. Mingyu's eyes lighten up in joy to hear Wonwoo finally calling his name.
"This...."
Wonwoo passes the jar to mingyu. He looks away. God he feels so embarassed right now.
Mingyu laughs softly. Does Wonwoo has any idea how cute he looks when he is flustered?
"Yes hyung~"
Mingyu teases Wonwoo. He just wanted to hear his voice again but Wonwoo only points to the jar without saying anything.
Kim Mingyu come on, you're not dumb. You know what he wants.
"Hurry"
"Just say one word, it's not hard~ you know what it is"
"Forget it, I'll just smash it open with a hammer"
"No, wait!"
Mingyu quickly takes the jar from Wonwoo's hand. He opens the lid effortlessly in one swing. Wonwoo snatches back the jar from him.
Before he could walk away, Migyu holds his wrist to stop him in track.
"Hyung I'm so sorry for what I did last night"
Wonwoo just remains in place without glancing over to him.
Mingyu slowly approaches his back. He wraps his hands around Wonwoo's skinny waist.
The familiar fragrance of his Kim Mingyu heals his wounded heart. He regrets even being mad at this boy in the first place.
Mingyu rests his chin on Wonwoo's shoulder. He plants a soft kiss there.
"Hyung can you call my name again?"
Mingyu has been craving for the older's attention. He could not imagine spending a day without talking to him.
Wonwoo holds still, not knowing how to react.
"Mingyu I'm—"
With that single word uttered, Mingyu tighten his grips around Wonwoo and talks in the softest tone he could.
"Hyung I'm so sorry for what I did to you. I swear I did not mean to hurt you at all..."
"No, I'm sorry for being selfish"
"No hyung, I was the one to blame for. I forgot my promise and I was mean to you..."
Yes Mingyu, you did. You should be sorry.
Lucky for him that Wonwoo just could not stay upset at his big baby for too long.
A smile escapes Wonwoo's mouth. He put the jar on the table. He loosen the tight grip on his waist and turns to face Mingyu. He misses this beautiful face of Mingyu so much.
"You know, I thought I could die from the coldness. I waited for two hours"
Mingyu widens his eyes in shock. He doesn't even know what Wonwoo has been going through. He knows Wonwoo has low tolerance for cold surrounding yet he still waited for him. And in return, Mingyu treated him like shit. It was reasonable for Wonwoo to be outraged at him.
"Hyung, I'm so sorry. I have no idea. Hyung, I"
"Shhh....it's okay. I'm not dead right?"
Wonwoo chuckles under his breath. Mingyu pouts. This cute little puppy. How could Wonwoo even possibly stay mad at this adorable human-being?
Wonwoo brushes the strand of hair that falls on Mingyu's forehead. He stands on his tip toe and places a soft peck on the taller boy's forehead.
"Consider yourself lucky. I just love you so damn much Mingyu"
Wonwoo pinches Mingyu's cheek playfully. Mingyu could finally smile pleasantly. He loves Wonwoo just as much. Or maybe so much more. Just the thought of having his hyung being happy again means everything to him.
"But you still need to pay for being harsh to me!"
Wonwoo pouts and crosses his arms near his chest. He seriously takes what Mingyu said to heart.
Mingyu just can't stop smiling. Wonwoo looks so beautiful even when he's sulky.
"Oh, I will~"
With that said, he pulls Wonwoo into his embrace. He smirks as he admires the beauty of the Jeon Wonwoo before his eyes. Wonwoo smiles knowingly and smacks his chest. His eyes trails down Mingyu's pretty lips.
He leans forward. He places the sweetest kiss on his favourite person's lips. He pauses in the middle to giggle and mouthing an I love you to Mingyu.
But Mingyu refuses to end it there. He continues to kiss him passionately, enjoying every moment of it.
