Work Text:
Everything had gone to shit and there was no way of fixing it. Y/N was a calm person and it takes a lot to make him mad, and today was a lot. He was pretty sure he failed his history test, he was made fun of for his height again, and he forgot to pack a lunch.
All this had made him pissed off.
He had studied hard for the test only to find out half the stuff he studied wasn’t even the right stuff.
He was on the shorter side and the other guys loved to pick on him for it. The name itty bitty Y/N had been haunting him since middle school.
His lunch was sitting on the counter but he forgot about it because he rushed out the door before doing his mental checklist.
Not to mention all the days were beginning to blur together. He could hardly remember what happened the day before because it was so similar to what happened today.
He walked up to his locker, banging his head on it a few times before actually opening it. He just wanted to go home. That's all he wanted, but sadly there was one more 45 minute period left.
Y/N closed his locker
“Hey babe, what’s my favorite person up to?”
Y/N turned around, standing there smiling down on him was his boyfriend Ejirou Kirishima.
“Nothing important.”
“Everything you do has importance babe.”
All he could give was a small smile but Ejirou could see right through it. “Talk to me babe, what's wrong?”
“It's nothing I’m just tired after the day, I’ll see you after class ok?”
Ejirou starred as his boyfriend as he walked away, sure Y/N was an anxious person but this wasn't anxiety. Y/N did have a fragile social battery so maybe that's why he looked so deflated.
Ejirou knew he needed to fix it, he couldn’t just let his boyfriend be miserable it wouldn't be the manly thing to do.

Ejirou waited outside and watched as his classmates filed out of the school. He then spotted Y/N walk out of the building, he looked even more upset than he did earlier. Ejirou quickly walked out to his boyfriend and without asking took his backpack from him and put it on his own back.
“Love I appreciate you wanting to be helpful but I can carry my bag.”
“I know you can but I’m not going to the gym today so I'm working out this way.”
This caught Y/N’s attention, “Wait why aren’t you going to the gym today?”
Ejirou smiled “Well because I'm taking my boyfriend to my house so I can cheer him up.” Ejirou then took Y/N’s hand in his own.
“You don’t have to do that, I know you like your after-school workout,” Y/N said, ears tinted light pink.
“Well, I like you a lot more than my afternoon workout.” If Y/N’s face wasn’t bright red before then it sure was now.
The walk to Ejirou’s house was short and sweet, neither boy talked the rest of the way there which left Y/N to his thoughts, and that normally was never a good thing.
The events of today with the addition of now keeping his boyfriend from one of his favorite activities weighed him down. Ejirou deserves better, why he would waste his time on a weak person like Y/N was beyond him.
Before he could let his thoughts consume him more he felt a soft pressure against his lips.
“You're lost in your thoughts again hun.” Ejirou looked down at him, his eyes burned with concern and worry. “Talk to me babe, what's going on in that anxious head of yours.”
Y/N walked in the house and began taking off his shoes, he took a slightly shaky breath “It's nothing Eijirou, I’m fine.”
Y/N stood up but was suddenly engulfed in the strong arms of his partner. “I’m not letting go before you tell me what's wrong, and don’t try lying to me.” Tears began to prick at the corners of Y/N's eyes. “You bottle everything up until it begins to eat away at you, please tell me what's wrong.” He couldn’t hold it in anymore.
The tears came out, and they were unstoppable.
Y/N was picked up and brought over to the couch. Ejirou held him and stroked his lover’s hair. Whispering things like “you're ok, it's ok to cry.” and “I love you, it's gonna be ok.” and slowly throughout the sob, Y/N let out his frustrations. The failed test, his height issues, his forgotten lunch, him being a burden, the fact that his life was starting to lose purpose, all of it.
Ejirou just sat and listened, letting him get everything he needed out before saying anything about it. Y/N needed to let it out, all of it.
Soon the sobs turned into sniffles. Y/N took a breath. “I am so sorry, I didn’t mean to dump all my prob-” He was cut off by two hands cupping his face and bringing his eyes to meet the eyes of his boyfriend.
“Don’t apologize, you needed to get it all out and I’m happy to be the one to sit here and listen.” Ejirou kissed the top of Y/N’s nose, “You are not a burden not to me, not to anyone now you remember that.” Y/N looked down but Ejirou grabbed his face again “No you need to stay looking at me so I know this is getting to you, second things may seem slow and shitty right now but they will get better your life has so much purpose and meaning.” Ejirou kissed Y/N lightly “And lastly your height is one of my favorite things about you, you're easy to pick up and kiss, you also can jump across counters like it's nobody's business.” Y/N smiled.
The first time Ejirou came over to Y/N’s house he got to witness Y/N Jumping across the counter trying to get all the baking supplies to make brownies from the top shelves of the cabinets.
“What I’m trying to say is don’t let them get to you, they will have to deal with back problems due to their height later on in life so their opinion on height doesn’t matter.”
Ejirou used his thumbs to wipe the remaining tears off of his boyfriend's face and then began kissing him softly. “You Y/N are perfect.” His words put Y/N at ease.
Eijirou smiled, “Now let's order pizza.”
“Ok, I'll pay for it.”
“Nope, you're going to let me love you and spoil you with pizza since you didn’t eat lunch.”
“Fine”
Eijirou smiled as he reached for his phone, he wouldn’t end the night any other way.
