What if, when Tommy was under threat of being exiled by tubbo, instead of sticking around he went "ya know what f yo wars, f dream, f yo chicken nuggets" 'borrowed' his disc back from tubbo and left to make an underground base alone (basically exile on his own terms). he stays away from everyone else until (some years later) someone accidentally finds his base and a bunch of them explore it together until they find him. Apologies, explanations, meeting the new Tommy etc, etc.
I picture Tommy to have become a bit of a bad@$$ (y'know cuz there's only so much you can do when you're alone and trying to not be found and Tommy gets bored so ☆training☆) but he doesn't have to be.
mayhaps a spar with Techno and/or Dream?
