Merciful Destiny

Summary:

“You do want a name for yourself, don’t you? To be free from the shackles of the past, and become something other than Kiana’s shadow? Carry out your plan without someone holding you back?” It seemed like the girl who called herself Agent 77 was interrogating her now, or more like an attack from an uncaring therapist.

“Well-”

“I’ll give you a name then.” The masked girl came to a conclusion. “That way, you can be your true self. Grow into your own person.” The white-haired ‘Sirin’ was gloomy now, too upset to do anything but to look at the ground.

“Voidelle.”

Chapter 1: Your name is Voidelle.

Chapter Text

The masked girl had just finished up her latest mission, scoring all of the necessities she needed. Well actually, the single necessity. She had a core, not a pseudo core, or faux core, but a real herrscher core. She had travelled through Imaginary Space and found the herrscher core, which she assumed was originally from the Herrscher of Domination. It was perfect though, no one else had touched it or gotten to it before she did. So she snagged it.

She had put an EM field around her little experimenting area, so that the rest of the ship she was inside of wouldn't be corrupted from honkai energy. Setting the gem inside an incubator that looked oddly similar to the cloning incubators that Otto had at the bottom of Schicksal HQ, even down to the blue cushioned interior and side panels, she grabbed a small container that was glowing to the point of white, and slotted it into a small opening, which she then poured the honkai energy into the cloning incubator. The gem reacted, sucking up the honkai energy like a vacuum does to nearby trash and dust. Once she was positive the gem was doing its job efficiently, she let go of the container and glanced at her fingertips.

The honkai energy was so strong the radiation it was emitting was turning her fingers black and her veins glowing blue through the skin. She shrugged nonchalantly, "Eh, it'll go back to normal soon.” She had a few of these before, and no matter how high the dosage, she’d usually go back to normal after a few days. It’s not like she was having permanent side effects from them. It just meant that her nerves would go numb, aside from the buzzing tingly sensation as if the energy itself was coursing through her veins.

The gem had absorbed all honkai energy and was now giving off a small glow itself, the color was an amber type of yellow, not quite yellow but more yellow than orange. She had yet to think of a name for this gem. All the other gems had cool names, but they were all confiscated or missing to her knowledge. She tapped her index finger, deactivated the EM field, turned a knob that was on the base of the incubator, turned around, and let the magic work itself.

The energy, even though it seemed redundant, started flowing out of the yellow-orange gem. Actually, it grew out more like vines, as if it had materialized. The vines intertwined with each other and made spindles, which then smoothed itself out to become one giant vine. Now it looked more like a tentacle.

The vines and spindles branched off, then merged with each other. They twisted and untwisted. Smoothed itself out as if it had a working brain, or like how a parasitic fungus overtook its dead prey.

All the while, the masked girl had her back turned, vulnerable and weak, too lost in thought for a name that’d probably come up in a conversation once or twice.

Now the energy didn’t look like a vine garden, but more of a silhouette of a person. A girl with long hair to be exact. Now she had turned around. “What!” She exclaimed. She knew what was going on, but the outcome wasn’t what she had expected. “The details are wrong! What is this!” Yelling at the gem as if it had ambushed her plans on purpose. She groaned and her shoulders sagged, knowing nothing can be done about the problem. “Well, whatever. I can work with this.” She said more to herself, and not to the materialized energy now changing to a light skin color.

Putting her hand up to her mask-as it covered her face- she sighed. It gave her a headache knowing she’d have to do all this again. Now she’s not even sure how many more attempts would be made to get the results she wanted. Still, she had to remain hopeful. She can’t just abandon this project. If she did, then who else would pick up the pieces? No one. So she had to rely on herself.

The process was done. Inside the incubator lay a girl with a slender body, long white hair that split into two. The girl on the outside however, was preparing for her first impression. She had forgotten all about naming the gem she had used for this first attempt. She most likely didn’t remember until after it all.

She lifted her hands, opened the incubator, and out poured the liquid and the white haired girl.

Now there were two.

The pain took awhile to register, she could feel the sensation buzzing from her forearms, stomach, and her legs. She slowly opened her eyes. Shit. She was seeing double-vision. It was also all blurry and hazy. It felt like she just woke up from a deep sleep. She attempted to lift herself up.

Her body felt like it weighed a ton, or it could just be that her arms were like noodles. But that couldn’t be right, she was strong. She was the Herrscher of the Void afterall. She strained her muscles and managed to sit up on her knees. Groaning, she lifted a hand up to her head to balance it as she slowly came to.

First thing she realized about anything other than how she felt was that she was naked. She cringed. “What in the wo-”

“Hi.”

Her head flew upwards. Her amber eyes widening in fear, terror, and hate. “Kiana!?” She growled, slowly attempting to get up, it wasn’t working though. She fell back on her knees.

What stood before her was a white-haired girl, who had two braids that split her hair down. She wore what looked like those damned valkyries would wear. It was a navy blue. What she also noticed was the armor covering her forearms, also blue but shined at even the smallest reflection of light. Looking up now, it was obvious it wasn’t Kiana. Kiana in her right mind would never wear a mask. Unless she was brainwashed of course.

“Hmm.” The masked girl hummed. “I’m not Kiana.”

“I can tell now.” Although the person in front of her was indeed not Kiana, she didn’t let her guard down. Infact now it seemed to build up because here she was, at the mercy of a white-haired stranger.

“Well, I’m glad you came to that conclusion.” The masked girl seemed to end it off on and she threw what appeared to be a hospital gown at the recently woken herrscher. “Put this on for decency.”

“I am very much aware of how… exposed I am.” The herrscher tried to say without her voice cracking from embarrassment, but she hid it well. The stranger didn’t seem that affected. Quickly putting the hospital gown on, she pointed at them. “Who are you if you aren’t Kiana?”

“Mmm. Not anyone important.”

“That's not a good excuse to say to a herrscher.” Her lip curled.

“You can call me Agent 77 then.” The stranger, now known as Agent 77, didn’t seem to mind the threat of being killed. “Now the question is, who are you?” She deflected. Though it sounded like she knew the answer already.

What type of question was that? “Huh? I’m Sirin.” She was taken aback at the sudden question.

77 made a little ‘beeep’ noise. “Wrong!”

“What the hell do you mean?” Oh, she was enraged now. The volume of her voice was slowly getting to yelling level.

“You aren’t Sirin.”

“Yes I am!” Now it was at yelling level.

“No you’r-”

“Shut the hell up! I’m Sirin, Herrscher of the Void, you fucking insect!” She was screaming at the top of her lungs now. Her eyes started to glow.

77 Paused. “Yeah, you are the Herrscher of the Void. I guess you did use the name Sirin, but you aren’t the purple-haired Sirin. You’re white-haired Sirin. A shadow of both Kiana and Sirin herself. No real name to you, only memories.”

Those words sounded like glass shattering. The glow quickly left from her eyes. “I-”

“Voidelle.”

“Huh?”

“Voidelle! You know, Void because you’re the Herrscher of the Void, and -elle? Make it sound more feminine and more of a name?”

“......As my name?” The herrscher lifted a brow.

“Who else do you think the name is for, dummy? I already have a name. Got any objections?” 77 put her armoured hands on her hips.

“No, it’d be weird for a person like you to think up of a name for yourself, when you just told me a name that was supposedly yours like five minutes ago.”

“Then it’s settled!” 77 exclaimed and put her hands on the herrscher’s shoulders. The recipient winced, it was cold hard metal indeed, and she just had woken up and was weak from it too. “Your name is Voidelle! Now everytime someone refers to you, they won't have to say that long string of words!”

The herrscher, now named Voidelle, tried to slowly come to terms with the feelings that her new appointed name gave her.

The air quickly turned directions and went cold. “Now that you have your name.” 77 started, her voice dropped an octave down, devoid of emotions. Voidelle heard a ‘schnnik’ a few yards behind her.

The ship's door had opened. “Go into the world that you sought to destroy, This time, the one out to kill won’t be you, it wont be the humans, it’ll be Mother Nature herself.” 77 started walking towards Voidelle, and Voidelle responded by walking backwards.

Just as she was about to stop, since the edge of the ship was right behind her, 77 pushed her. The armour knocked the wind out of her lungs, so when she fell, she wasn’t screaming. All she could do was stare up at 77, who leaned over the edge, no emotions coming from that sick, black, horned mask that was glowing blue from its eye sockets.

And with that, she hit the ground.
