Chapter Text
Another crack of thunder shook the mansion, lightning lighting up the walls of the den where Jason was curled up, snoozing on his warm, comfortable nest near the fireplace. Jason had finally fell asleep a few hours ago, after staying up for weeks for a big drug bust that the pack finally washed their hands of earlier that day, not only taking down the big ring, but the few smaller rings in the area as well. Overall, Batman, Nightwing and the Red Hood were exhausted and worn down.
Taking down a big drug ring apparently didn't warrant a good nights rest though, as Jason's Alpha's insisted on patrolling again tonight. Jason had begged them back into his big, warm nest. His nest he only let the ones he loved in, the nest he worked hard on so they'd all be comfortable. Bruce had refused, never off duty no matter how tired he was. Dick needed to patrol and blow off some steam, too pumped from sending long wanted criminals off to jail. So Dick ended up joining Bruce for patrol, leaving Jason alone in his big nest.
Jason hated sleeping alone in his nest, reminding him too much of his shitty childhood. Willis dragging his mom out of the safety of their nest and taking her to another room where little Jason could hear his mom beg and cry for whatever was happening to stop. It made Jason sick to even think about it. Jason didn't let himself think much about his childhood, why would he? His mom was gone and so was Willis. All there was left was Jason, but Jason ended up finding family.
Bruce had taken Jason in so easily, seeing a starving pup in distress, willingly putting himself in danger he was so hungry. No one else would have even approached the big bats car, but little Jason had. Whether it was him being stupid, or the hunger finally getting to him, he approached and tried to take those tires off. It turned out to be the best decision of his life, actually. Instead of receiving the beating he was sure anyone would get for even going near the Batmobile, Jason was offered hot food and a safe place to sleep.
Now Jason was the sole Omega to the Wayne family pack, and proud of it too. Jason took a while to open up to his presentation, and thankfully fully accepted his role as pack Omega. Jason wasn't sure he'd ever be a real pack Omega, with pups. Since fully integrating himself into his role, Jason had silently begged the universe for pups. He loved pups and naturally, pups loved him back. Jason wasn't a very typical Omega, with all the soft features and round hips, no, Jason was rough, ragged and downright scary when he wanted to be. Jason looked every bit Alpha, from his large, muscular body down to the guns usually strapped to his hips. The bad guys feared the Red Hood for a reason. Jason stretched out on his soft nest again before the crackling fire lulled him back to a cozy slumber.
Somewhere on the streets and rooftops of Gotham, were The Dark Knight and Nightwing, patrolling and enjoying the comfort of the night as they swung together from tall buildings, helping stop robberies and even helping little old ladies across the street. The breeze ran through Dick's hair as he swung near a dark alleyway. He jumped onto a low building rooftop and watched the scene below him unfold.
A child, a skinny one wearing raggedy clothes which rang bells in Dick's head, reminding him of another young boy he'd met years ago, backed himself into a corner. The boy whimpered as two fully grown men cornered him, they reeked of alcohol and homelessness as they approached the cowering child. "Damn, they don't make them like they used to anymore." One of them complained, undoing his belt. The other man chuckled and took another swig from his half empty beer bottle. "Pl-please, leave me alone!" The child cried, backing himself impossibly closer to the dumpster filled with rotting food and other unpleasant smelling garbage.
Dick felt his heart pound, he knew that look on the mans face. That exact face is what led to Jason even putting on the Red Hood. The same look that Dick knew haunted Jason every night. No, Dick wouldn't let this child share the same unfortunate fate. After all, this is why Dick became Nightwing himself. To protect the innocent. Dick smirked and swooped down, landing with a soft thud in front of the child, purposely putting himself between the drunk men and the trembling child. Dick looked back towards the child and gave him a gentle smile. "Everything's going to be okay." He promised.
Batman landed right behind the men, watching their eyes widen and put their hands up in surrender. "I mean shit, you can have him if you want him. He's a cute one." One man said. The other nodded with a deep hiccup. "Yeah, bet he likes it too." The other joked, yet no one laughed.
Dick felt his upper lip curl in disgust. He shot Batman a look before he threw the first punch. Both Nightwing and Batman beat the disgusting perves up and left them on the ground, knocked out and one even pissed himself. Dick smirked, feeling accomplished he managed to hit the man that hard. Serves them right.
Batman turned towards the child, his Alpha instincts roaring at him to scoop the pup up and take him back to their nest. The child was so small, worryingly small and so very young. Nightwing slowly approached the child, stooping down on his knees in front of the pup so he could engage him better and show himself a safe place for the pup.
"What's your name, pup?" Nightwing cooed.
The pup toed at the dirty gravel beneath his worn shoe and shrugged. He looked ratty, as if he'd been on the streets for a while now. Dick's heart clenched. Who would ever let such a baby, such a small pup be alone on the street like this? For everything holy, the kid was almost taken against his will!
Dick had to suppress the Alpha growl forming in the back of his throat, wouldn't be good to save the kid only to scare him off by growling. "Come on, pup. Tell us your name." Bruce softly commanded, using his Alpha voice.
The pup winced and wrapped his arms around himself, a self pacifying gesture pups did when their Omega wasn't there to comfort them. "T-Tim..." Tim stuttered, keeping his head down and not looking the obvious Alpha in the eyes. Bruce softened at the baby, because that's basically what he was. A baby.
"And how old are you, Tim?" Bruce asked, kneeling on the ground next to Dick. "I'm um... six." Tim chewed on his lip, nervous to be so close to the Alphas, who could no doubt do some series damage to him if he misbehaved.
"Where's your parents, puppy." Dick cooed again when Tim reached up and rubbed his eyes with the back of his hand. He looked so precious.
"Uhm..dead.."
Bruce glanced at Dick, then back towards the pup, who very clearly needed a pack.
"Why don't you come home with us, puppy? Hmm?" Bruce said. He reached out and gently pulled the pup to stand before him. God he was skinny, obviously so hungry. "We can get you some food, a bath and we have a nest you can sleep in. You'll be safe, hun." Bruce looked into the eyes of the boy.
Dick waited with baited breath as Tim thought to himself, eventually the pup nodded and Dick easily scooped the kid up into his arms. "Looks like you'll be coming home with us then, Timmy. Just wait until Jason meets you." Dick cooed.
Tim froze in Dick's hold, looking up into the vigilante's eyes. "J-Jason." Tim questioned fearfully. Dick slid into the passenger seat of the Batmobile with the pup on his lap. "Yes, Jason is our Omega. And hopefully will be yours too."
That didn't sound good to Tim. What if the pack Omega rejected him? Then he'd be right back on the streets. Not every Omega was accepting of new pups to their pack. Tim wasn't sure why'd they think this was a good idea at all. What if the pack Omega accepted him but didn't let Tim in the nest? Tim started tearing up, he wanted to be in a nest so badly. He did. What if the pack Omega didn't like him?
Tim made a soft whining noise, a typical pack pup whined for attention or needs to be filled, but this noise was more urgent, more sad. He called to his Omega mother, but she wasn't here anymore.
Sad. Pup. Scared. Hungry.
Emotions bounced through Dick, lighting him on fire. The high pitched whining noise startled him, making him scent the air, trying to figure out why the pup was calling for Omega.
The pup keened, snuggling into Dick's chest, eyes closed but tears still leaked down his cheeks. Bruce glanced down at the pup and purred. The sound alluring to the small pup and made Tim look up at Bruce. "It will be okay, Tim. Calm down. When we get back to the cave, everything will be alright.
Bruce pushed the call button on the center console and spoke to someone named Agent A. Tim looked baffled and tried his best to keep his sniffles down. Dick ripped off his scent patches and rubbed his wrists on the pups throat, scenting him as his.
"Have a meal ready for the pup and a bath. Do we still have any of Dick's old clothes?" Batman spoke gruffly.
"Afraid not, the pup will have to do with a T-shirt. Shall I retrieve one from Master Jason's room then?" Agent A spoke through the Batmobile's speakers.
"No, take one from Dick's instead." Bruce pulled into the Cave.
"It-it's no trouble sir." Tim finally spoke up from where he was being scented by Dick. "Really, just the food will be fine, sir. I don't want to be a bother." Tim's voice was squeaky and adorable, but his words were not. No way in hell were Dick or Bruce are going to allow a six year old child wander around Gotham like that again, not if they could help it. Bruce growled, eyes narrowing at the child.
Tim keened softly, curling in on himself, nervous to have upset the large Alpha. The arms around him tightened. "Bruce, calm down. You're scaring him." Dick spoke softly, running his hands along Tim's sides.
"You're not going back on those streets." And Bruce meant it. He decided he was going to adopt Tim. Tim was his pup. He was pack now.
"I'm sorry." Tim shook in Dick's arms, neck tilted to the side, showing the raging Alpha his submission. Dick wondered briefly what Tim's presentation would be. He had a sneaking suspicion that it would be Omega, like Jason. Then again, Jason acted like a Alpha a lot.
"It's okay, baby." Dick cooed. They took Tim upstairs, let Alfred bathe and feed the boy while they took their suits off and showered. "Overall, a good patrol." Dick said cheerily as they went upstairs together. Bruce chuckled, shaking his head. "I'm not sure how Jason will like us bringing a strange pup into the house."
Dick shrugged. "You knew you were gonna adopt Tim the second you laid eyes on him, don't act like you weren't old man." Bruce gave a half smile as they met up with Alfred.
Alfred managed to bathe and feed the poor starving boy. The pup stood in an over sized T-shirt from Dick's closet. "Sir, might I suggest clothes shopping be done tomorrow, as Young Master Timothy's garments would not survive the washer." Tim flinched like he'd been hit. "M' Sorry.." Tim toed the soft carpet beneath his toes.
Bruce carded his fingers carefully through Tim's now washed hair. "Not your fault, pup. Let's go to the nest. I'm sure you're tired."
Tim nodded and allowed himself to be carried by Dick to the main den. Dick scratched behind Tim's ears, the puppy purring softly. Dick purred himself, matching the baby's pur in his arms.
Dick set Tim down in front of the nest while Bruce gently shook Jason awake. "Jaylad, I have something for you." Jason mumbled incoherently and stretched, sitting up and rubbing his eyes. Jason looked from Bruce to Dick, then meeting eyes with a small puppy right before his eyes. Jason's eyes widened as he took in the sight of the newcomer.
"Jason, this is Tim. He needs a pack, and we're wondering if you'd-" Bruce was instantly cut off.
"Yes." Jason said. He chuffed, beckoning the pup to him. Tim hesitated, not sure how to get to the Omega without getting into the nest. Tim wasn't invited in, so he couldn't get in. He knew he wasn't supposed to, and offending the pack Omega could get him killed.
Jason chuffed again, louder this time. He motioned the pup forward. Tim looked up at Bruce, at a loss of what to do. "Come on, Tim. It's okay, you're allowed in the nest."
Tim rubbed his eyes again and yawned, making Jason's heart thrum with love and acceptance. "Nest?" Tim asked softly.
Jason responded, chuffing one more time to get the pups attention on him again. "Yes, puppy. Nest." Jason felt his Omega purr when the pup finally listened to his calling and tried to crawl into the nest. Jason grabbed him up quickly and began scenting him, running his wrists over the baby's scent glands. Tim looked up into Jason's eyes and keened softly, calling for Omega.
"Pack." Jason declared, and created a thin bond between them. Dick and Bruce felt the new bond forming and snuggled up to Jason and Tim. Jason laid himself down in the middle of his nest, taking his new pup with him.
Pack. Mine. Puppy. Mine.
Tim whined and snuggled into his new mama. "I will always love you, puppy." Jason promised.
