My Subconscious Is A Liar

Summary:

sub·con·scious
səbˈkänSHəs
adjective

of or concerning the part of the mind of which one is not fully aware but which influences one's actions and feelings

li·ar
ˈlī(ə)r
noun

a person who tells lies

Since his fight with Midoriya at Ground Beta, Bakugou felt a sense of relief from the situation, but he himself wouldn't accept the fact that he did, all from Midoriya. Emotions were received head on but he started to avoid the greenette after that. Sure, the occasional small talk but that was it. He was still confused about Deku's feelings, on why he still followed him, despite his crude behavior towards him, on why he never left his side, why does he honor him so much, and left in question, why does Katsuki care so much? Will be in Katsuki's and Izuku's POV, you will know by the wording. Warnings include Mentions Of Suicide, Strong Language, and maybe Sexual Events that will happen throughout the fanfiction. Warning will also be placed in the notes at the beginning. Hope you enjoy!

Notes:

This plot and the events that will occur are extremely concindental, created by A_Fan_Of_Deku and will not affect the manga or TV show overall. Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

"I'm just awesome, and everyone else just isn't!"

"Just pray that you will have a quirk in your next life, and take a swan dive off the roof of a building!"

"Why was I the one that ended All Might?!"

It's funny how one's emotions can change during time over a singular person, character development at its fullest. Humans are just complicated that way in spoken word, no, in reality. No profession as to why they think that there's a god that is special. If there is a god, how come they aren't helping us out? Pathetic. Go to hell, all the lot of you. They all need to shut up and just get out of my way. Four Eyes, Round Face, Icy-Hot, Earjack, Dunce Face, Shitty Hair, Raccoon Eyes, Deku...

"I want to be like you. I want to become the greatest hero like you!"

Fucking Deku...

"Think about it, Kacchan. If I hated you, I would want nothing to do with you, but I am still here."

FUCKING DEKU...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"-kugou, Bakugou?"  The spiky blond that was on his fill of anger listened a bit on the Red Riot Rising Hero, the two of them going on their morning run, cooling day with recklessness and wilting flowers from the winter morphs into spring, the skies decorated with soft cotton balls for clouds. "Hey...are you alright?"  No response. He was pissed about something, wasn't in the mood to have banter with the shitty hair. The perplexed mindset of his has nothing deemed that didn't benefit him in the long run, the consistent nonchalant of Bakugou Katsuki was giving himself away for a bit now, his feelings often slipping a bit from his strong stature, but in reality, he felt hurt, confused, saddened, he let that slip with Midoriya Izuku. What was his problem? Why is he getting weaker? Why does he felt more comfortable around the fucking All-Might fanboy? It felt weird and a bit sick to his stomach. He felt comfortable around him since that day. They were buddy-buddy when they were younger, then they gradually drifted away as middle school came upon them, bullying the emerald green eyes, the dark green hair, the freckled species of human, only because he didn't have a quirk. He'll admit it to himself, but he was fucking stupid at that time and in the beginning of their years at UA. Sure, past drama was a bit sorted, but something still lingered in the air, they didn't settle everything out. Their small talks were merely mutual agreement, on the greenette's side correspondingly. Katsuki still had the same aggression, the same demeanor, the same attitude, and yet he was speaking to the nerd like nothing even happened between the two throughout the years. Damn him...why didn't he bring the shit up? He can't just fucking forget about that shit!

"Just pray that you will have a quirk in your next life, and take a swan dive off the roof of a building!"

Thinking about that damn nerd fueled his anger even more to keep dashing in front of Eijiro, his default mindset averts to this being a simple race for him, a competition. He was merely leaving the smiley, manly 16 year old with Canadian-like shaped hair, the boy called out to him. No response. He tuned the outside world out from the many things that distracts him from winning. "That prize is mine, I'm going to fucking win! Shitty Hair will not pass me!"  He growled under his breath, his chest now heaving from the amount of steps he took to get to his goal. Something to get his mind off of Deku.

The blond dashed back to the dorms, his beating heart thumping loudly throughout his body, heavily breathing in deception to completely leave Kirishima behind, balls of sweat creasing his face, dripping down his chin from the early morning run. Pawned based feelings of that night, it felt oddly refreshing, awfully liberating to him that he finally told himself the truth, the truth about what it takes to become a hero. How did Deku become a hero? Why did All Might choose him? "He was maybe special to him or some shit" , he thought, his thoughts drowning in a limitless pool of uncertainty for the future that beholds him. Bonafides the significant relationship between him and the broccoli boy, he felt confused. "The hell does this make us now? Friends? Tch..."  His mindset wandered and wandered ever so deep, until he was startled by a certain pink-haired alien. She was rather jumpy at ten ante meridiem, and it irritated the blond greatly. Too much noise, in contrast to his hypocrisy.

"BakuBabes!"  His quirk formed in reflex nearly hitting the girl as she dodged the shot and hit the yellow-haired boy with a black strip behind her in his face, as always, he always aims. A piece of hair nearing to be burned off from the impact, she hissed at the pain silently and then averted her gaze back to Katsuki, a spiteful glare, trying to contain her happiness. "The fuck do you want?"  He scowled the two troublemakers. Who knows what the hell they were doing while they had the spring break all to themselves? Dumb shit, probably.

"How harsh!"  She huffed, now in regulation on how the blondie's norm was to blame them from something completely idiotic, which was true nearly all the time. If Dunce Face was involved, then they were about to ask him a stupid question, another and another even dense from the rest, his tier of frequently asked dumb questions by these two (mostly Dunce Face) was getting ranked on, the number one being, "Kacchan! Do you want to challenge me in eating a whole tub of butter? Loser pays at the mall!"  IDIOCY AT ITS FINEST. Nothing good ever comes out of their mouths, including Scotch Tape and Shitty Hair. Ear Jack was tolerable. But if he were to speak of his true feelings...THEY WERE HIS IDIOTS.

"Oi, Kacchan! Mind going to the mall with us?"  Ah? Wasn't stupid this time but, "No, and don't call me that again for the last fucking time."  Katsuki shrugged off the question as he quickly turned around to go towards the steps, his distinctive scowl and hunched back stomped away from the chaotic two, as they whined for him to come with. Everyone was in on going (even Tokoyami and Shouji) except for him. "Come on! You're so boring! You never want to do anything!"  Mina whined as she dashed after whim with a lingering Pikachu behind. "You're going to be the only one here!"  The alien huffed and crossed her arms with a bit of sass in her hips, the Pikachu was now out of breath as he reached the steps towards the two individuals who were having a glaring contest, both not backing down. "Perfect then, don't have to deal with anyone's bullshit today. Fucking scram."  He makes his way up the steps, an angry and passive agressive alien was about to go up to follow him but backed down once she was motivated by Kaminari to forget about it. Good. "Don't bother me."   He thought to himself, that's all he asked for. He didn't want any distractions from his goal: To be better than All Might, To become the Number One Hero. Nothing will stray him away from that if that was the last thing of his mind.

"Think about it, Kacchan. If I hated you, I would want nothing to do with you, but I am still here."

THE LAST THING ON HIS DAMN MIND...

He gets off on the 4th floor, now heading up to his room with a grumble. "The fuck they want to go to the mall for? Don't they got enough shit already?"  He scoffed to himself, if everyone is going, that means he doesn't have anyone to deal with, no one to fucking interrupt his mindset. Perfect. He took his UA card out of his pocket, and swiped it upon the card scanner near his doorknob when he was suddenly interrupted by a panting redhead getting off the elevator with a ding. "Baku...gou..."  The rock boy was out of breath, trying to catch up to Katsuki, his face and his white t-shirt was drenched with sweat, his body being out of breath nearly sound dramatized. "Damn, you left me..." he joked as his lungs heaved for some air, a smile still on his face despite his current condition of lacking air. His hands found his knees, and arched his back a little to catch his breath of oxygen. "What happened?! You just suddenly dusted my ass!"  He tries to crack another joke, not a peep out of the blond, and the red-head fell completely victim to the silence that irked him. With the red-head, he knew what was going on with Bakugou half of the time, but now, he couldn't recognize what was the main problem here, rather if Bakugou was just good at hiding his emotions, which was rather scary now, him not showing his usual anger as he gazed upon the boy. The silence lingered on for the next few seconds until Kirishima interrupted it once more. "So uh, are you going to the ma-" "No."  The blondie said rather quickly, he knew what the red-head was talking about, mimicking the pinky's words. Kirishima was rather a bit shocked by his immediate response, and then faltered since he assumed that one of the others may have gotten to him first, presuming his request. "Alright then, well I'll ask the others about it...tell me when you change your mind, okay?"  He grinned, his shark-like teeth giving way for a warm feeling, the blond's eyes widened quite a bit, not to be noticable, just to scoff and return to his normalized expression of the angered boy. "Whatever."  He averted his gaze back to his room door, and opened the door, the sharky boy was now ready to disappear from the blond's sight after he waved a goodbye.

The blond entered his room, a rush of cold air merely eloped his body, a calming feeling since he was overheated and his heart still thumped loudly in his body, ringing in his ears along with the soft hum of the air conditioner. He grunted softly from the cooling of his skin, now wanting to take a shower from the 30 minute dash outside he did with Eijiro, fueled by anger took a toll in his body heat, corresponding to himself that he needed to think things through a bit better, but how can he think through when his mind isn't even on himself but on other things? He was still confused, in remembrance of how things went down for the greenette, all known as Deku, or in put terms, Izuku Midoriya. Those eyes, widened curious fucking eyes that always stared down Katsuki's soul whenever they had the chance and glistened whenever he saw All Might or another pro hero. He used to have that shine with Katuki, but as time progressed, this was initially unintentional of some sorts, but he lost a bit of that shine with Katsuki. A mere "moving on" of sorts, being forgiven of what Katsuki has done in the past, or maybe not, but how does Katsuki know that for sure? They have never brought the subject up since the day that they have squared off in Ground Beta. Damn it...

Katsuki forcefully removed his clothing at the bathroom door and threw them in his dirty clothes hamper before he entered the bathroom, his bare naked body paled to a near fair-caramel was now exposed to the coolness of the air conditioner, a disturbed grunt escaped his lips and a slight shiver trying to be forced in by the disgruntled teen. He quickly headed into the bathroom to escape the now sharp cold on his skin. He turns the knobs for the shower water and then gets in almost immediately. The hot water now in direct contact with his skin, pulverising his neck and gliding down his jugular, dripping from the tip of his chin and eloping around his shoulders, the violent spreading of water throughout his body calmed his sense a little, but he was STILL conflicted as to why nothing was brought up yet. "Stupid nerd...fucking..."  He banged his fist on the shower wall beside him, and he scoffed at himself. "Fucking why..."  The frequent thumping of his heart, increasing like a banging drum, no, more like thunder and lighting, the sudden dread the boy felt from the fallen thoughts of the past caressed him ever so gently just to choke him relentlessly without mercy, like a snake is wrapping around his neck, making it hard to breathe correctly. Katsuki starts from this feeling and quickly turns off the shower water. Is the truth too bearable to hear amongst the trivial beating of one’s heart? Will known to this man is deemed questionable. He realized to himself that the bathroom was eroded from the steam of hot water boiling in the shower, fogging up his sight in the mirror and clogging his vital valves for the atmospheric distinction of air through his lungs. That has never happened before...why? Why did it happen now, the blond was now conflicted once more and anger took over his true emotion. His whispers cause earthquakes, his actions cause tornadoes, his emotions cause hurricanes with no real intentions behind, that is what the boy thought as he got out of the shower and wiped the mirror to see himself in it. he scoffed at himself, and went back in the shower with no mercy whatsoever.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Midoriya!"  The redheaded hero called out to the greenette as he was seen with Todoroki and Iida, training outdoors near the P.E Grounds, now dashing towards the hard-working trio, Despite it being the nearing day of their last day of Spring Break, the blazing kept good balance with the cool wind that passed through the individuals. The balls of fluff started to disperse from each other, making a perfectly clear day. Kirishima shielded his eyes from the bright sun as he admired the still day of no recurrences. "Ah, this is a good day to go to the pool. Damnnnnn..."  He fell in defeat at the wasted opportunity, and then looked towards the three classmates of his. "You guys up for a day at the mall? Nearly everyone is coming!" Eijiro sparkled a bit with his sharky smile, a warm feeling strikes amongst the individual classmates, even Todoroki, whose feelings were often not shown, but his eyes widened a bit at the smiley redhead from his question. "We will be back by curfew then! Mr. Aizawa would be very upset if we were not to return by curfew hours!"  Iida reminded the three as the other two thought about it. "Yeah, yeah, we know that, Iida, don't worry! Plus, we have lots of time before then, right?"  Kirishima looked at Todoroki, who nodded his head to the question, and then at Midoriya, who thought about it hard, and his mumbling habit began to utter out, getting a slight chuckle from Eijiro. The redhead put his hand on the boy's shoulder. "Hey, if you don't want to go, that's fine! I mean, you deserve to rest after everything that went on with All Might."  Kirishima felt the greenette flinch a bit under his palms, and quickly removed his hand from his shoulder, thinking that he has done something wrong by mentioning what happened, not about All Might, but the after effect of that, him and Bakugou duking it out in Ground Beta. Kacchan pinned him down, he knew that he would win by thought, but he had that sliver of hope that he would win, he's not the same Deku from middle school, he has changed and he knows that. He's been improving, getting stronger by the days. He wanted to get on Bakugou's level, to be like his inspiration was his dream. Sure, All Might was his pro hero idol, but Bakugou was with him beyond the years, he was his personal idol, childhood idol, his goal. He was with Bakugou. That battle in Ground Beta just meant that he has to grow more, get even better than Bakugou, no matter what.

The greenette then plastered a smile, and looked at the sharky boy. "It's fine, Kirishima-kun! I'll just train a bit more before I go back inside. I need to get stronger after all!"  Iida's eyebrows furrowed, and the half-and-half managed to muster up a small smile. "Don't overwork yourself, Midoriya. Training can take a toll on you. I'll bring you back something from the mall then."  Iida followed up with his response. "I second what Todoroki has said. Take care of yourself, Midoriya!"  He said with his robotic-like hands in a choppy motion. "I shall bring you back something from the mall as well!"  The greenette was modest with this information, he suggested that the two just didn't worry about him since he wasn't going, but the two were stubborn and Midoriya gave in. He smiles again as well, with Kirishima to add on to the two's responses as well. "Alright then, well, we will see you when we get back, Midoriya!"  He starts to leave and then waves back the greenette, with Todoroki and Iida mimicking his reaction with the greenette also doing the same in return.

As soon as they were nearly specks in the distance, Midoriya now focused on getting stronger, and started to activate his quirk, One For All, and begins to practice his moves upon the distance, using nearly acrobatic skills that he has used on Bakugou but with a certain twist before falling to the sandy ground with a thud, his blue t-shirt and black shorts now soiled. He punched the ground and scolded himself to get back up, and tries again to improve his skills, heightening the risk for him to get injured, his feet filled with his iconic red shoes starts to hurt a bit from jumping to create aerial offense, so he took a short break from the air, and focused on defensive tactics for when an enemy tries to take him head on, but it was really hard considering that he didn't have Iida or Todoroki to be his sparring partners anymore. They would've helped him with the defense tactics. "Todoroki would use a spur of his fire and ice to throw me off-guard for an opening, a far combat attack, his body can maintain the heat, but he could still freeze to death with his body so it is not a complete advantage or disadvantage but half-and-half, (pun intended) and Iida would've stuck with close hand combat, more or likely using his legs until they either get jammed or has an opening, which is unexpected at times assuming he can move really fast with his quirk, but I could tell that they were holding back a bit because how much training I have been putting in lately..."   Midoriya thought about the two, and sighed before another person came to mind. "Kacchan would never hold himself back during a fight no matter what, and he proved that with Uraraka-chan. His movements are hard to read, but as soon as I get the tempo of what he is doing to his opponent, he changes up his attacks so that it can be unreadable again. Kacchan really is something...no wonder he's getting so strong..."  The greenette looked towards the atmosphere of the P.E Grounds, small faints of wind brush past him as he glared at the clouds, his eyes following their movements to release the prison of the sun that was behind them for a few moments, now shining upon the beautiful landscape of the high school. "Kacchan will know that I am going to surpass him no matter what, and I will never stop until I get there...."

Notes:

I really hope you like this first part of My Subconscious Is A Liar! This may be updating fairly slow since I have school and work, but I will try my best! Constructive criticism is welcomed since this is my first DkBk fanfic on here. (I'm so used to Wattpad, but it had gone really CRAZY lately-) I have more plans for DkBk stories in the future, and maybe even an Unidentified Reader x MHA since I think Male/Female/Non-Binary/Agender/Demi-Male/Demi-Female Reader is a bit too direct for certain audiences so I want everyone to be able to enjoy the stories I make. This story is not scripted, but rather purely working off good ideas and what comes up in my head, but I will go back and make adjustments if needed, A DEEP CLEANING LOL. This may have at least up to 25-30 Chapters with a constructed side story in the process, so join this ever-growing fanfic if you are willing to! Thank you!
