They fell on their backs onto the mattress, tired and sweaty, their chests quickly rising and falling as they panted. Hisoka whistled lowly, a sly smirk on his face. “Whew. You blew my mind. And something else too, but mostly, my mind,” he giggled, turning on his side and brushing his fingers through Illumi’s hair. “You were even more eager than usual. Guess becoming my fiancé really spurred you on, huh?” he grinned, sliding a leg between Illumi’s.
“I guess it did add some… spice, yes,” Illumi nodded, staring up at the ceiling, though he slightly leaned his head into Hisoka’s touch, his eyes half closed. “If you were a cat, I bet you’d be purring right now,” Hisoka murmured, lifting a strand of Illumi’s silky hair to his lips and kissing it softly.
Hisoka was never going to admit it, not out loud, not even to himself, and it terrified him to even think so, but… he was dreading what was going to come next on the Black Whale. Don’t get him wrong, he was dying to finally kill off all the Troupe and watch in ecstasy as Chrollo’s life left his eyes right under his heels, but at the same time… he wished there could be a way to ensure he could conclude his mission, while keeping Illumi 100% safe. And possibly himself too, since he wouldn’t mind having another few rounds with him. The thought of his fiancé joining those bastard Spiders made his skin crawl. Though he bad to admit it was a little fun too.
“…I have something for you,” Hisoka said, turning around to shuffle through his belongings on the floor, until he found a little velvet box, and sat up, opening it in front of Illumi and revealing a thin silver band, with a large, shiny diamond embedded in the middle. “I didn’t give it to you before because it was a little rushed, and everything was kind of a mess, and I didn’t even know if you would accept it, so... yeah. But I want to do this right, since it’s gonna be my first and last time proposing to someone. Probably, if you’re a good first husband,” he winked, earning himself a sharp glare from Illumi, and cleared his throat.
“Sorry. I’ll do it right, once and for all. Illumi Zoldyck, my dearest, loveliest, prettiest associate… will you do me the honor of marrying me?” Hisoka smiled, offering Illumi the ring and dramatically batting his long lashes at him.
Illumi stared at him blankly for a beat, then looked down at the ring, and extended his left hand, wiggling his fingers. “Finally, I thought you’d never ask me properly,” he mused, a hint of a smile on his face as Hisoka slid the ring on his finger and left a soft kiss on the back of his hand. “You went to some pretty great lengths for what is supposedly just a business agreement,” he added, admiring the pretty big diamond adorning his slender finger. He had to admit, it did look awfully good on him.
“It’s a very important business agreement,” Hisoka murmured, sliding a hand down Illumi’s back and placing it on his waist as he pulled him closer to kiss down his lips, neck and shoulder. “The most important of my life,” he whispered, nipping lightly as Illumi’s earlobe and lacing their fingers together, stroking the other’s ring.
“…we should go to sleep. We’re boarding the ship early tomorrow, and I’ll be starting my hunt to kill you. I wanna be fresh and relaxed for that,” Illumi sighed, closing his eyes as he fell back against the pillows and took Hisoka down with him, caressing his cheek. “I can’t wait, my love,” Hisoka purred, resting his head in the crook of Illumi’s neck and draping an arm over his waist, kissing his shoulder again.
“…how about I kill all the Spiders, except your brother, and we fuck on their corpses?”
“Hisoka, I will cut your throat right now.”
