Work Text:
The last day of the week, Friday. You know, school sucks, but we are forced to. I've always been the shy kid who disappeared in the background or got bullied for no reason. I was minding my own business at recess when a bully came to me. I was standing on the grass, looking at the blue sky, and suddenly he pushed me and I fell, almost ate dirt.
— Kellin, you faggot, get out of my path! — He said, crossing his arms confidently.
— Andy? What did I do to you? You could simply avoid me, why you like to beat me? I did nothing to harm you — I said turning to face him, but still on the ground.
— You exist, and that's enough for me to hate you — He said, taking a long breath and walking away.
— Please, have mercy on me, I don't deserve this — I said, getting up.
— Yes, you do — Andy said while still walking.
The bell rang and everyone headed to class. I went to the restroom to see if I was clean and for my surprise or not, my cheek and lip were bleeding a little, which I already knew by the taste of blood on my mouth. I heard someone walking in and saw Andy in the mirror. Hell! Not again...
— Quinn, do you want a second round? — He stared at me through the mirror.
— No, please... — I barely whispered and started to shed tears while turning to face him.
He started to walk towards me and I stepped back, and back, and back until my back hit the wall — You got no savior, you have no redemption, you'll turn out to be a trash that no one cares, nobody will even want to beat you... You're a fucking fag and no longer deserve to live.
— You're gonna kill me? Here at school where you'll be caught? — I said it hoping he would get back to his mind and set me free.
— No, I won't kill you, but you will die, not here, not now, but here I will give you a gift — He punched me in the stomach and left the restroom.
I was stretched out on the floor in pain. I needed to get out of there, I couldn't bare to take classes after all this shit. I tried to gather all my strength to get up and walk my crying ass to "my place", the cave next to the lake, where I could be alone and pity myself for being this walking crap. I tried my best to not get caught and escape school, I was already with my backpack, where I always keep a flashlight. For some divine reason nobody saw me.
When I was near the lake, I saw a deer drinking water with her little baby deer. That was cute. I walked in the cave and the noise of the water drops calmed me down. The stalactites were wet and I ran my fingers on it, feeling the cold water, while walking until the border of the little lake in the cave, where was a bench shaped rock near glow stones, it was as beautiful as everything I have ever seen.
I sat there staring at the glowing lake, just replaying the whole situation with Andy, he said I will die, will he kill me? I saw an assemble of little stones and wanted to throw them in the water, threw one, two, three and them heard something coming from the cave's entrance.
At the same time my head quoted Andy, "you will die, not here, not now" and I started to run, I hid behind the rocks, but the steps were becoming closer and closer, I became scared as fuck and ran away without even get to know who was there.
The steps seemed to be chasing me, I wasn't sure where I was going, I never went into the cave that way, was a little dark, my eyes weren't able to see where to go, I fell in the abyss, but held onto some rocks and heard from distance:
— Hello? Is there someone in here? Did I scare you? I'm sorry I didn't mean to...
It was not Andy's voice, fuck! I almost died because of his fucking bastard words.
— Hey! Help me! I fell in the abyss, please help me!! — I screamed at the top of my lungs.
— Hey, talk again so I can find you.
— Here! Please be fast, I can't hold on for too long! — I was running out of strength.
— Hey, give me your hand — He said, stretching his arms the most he could.
I wasn't sure if I could release the rock to catch this hand, but I did it anyway. He pulled me out of the abyss with all his strength, once I was safe, I hugged him like there was no other thing happening in the world, he was my savior.
— I'm sorry I scared you — He said hugging me back.
— It's not your fault, a bastard at school said I was supposed to die, I thought you were Andy that followed me to kill me — I loosened the hug, looking at his face, which I could barely see because it was too dark to recognize something.
— Andy? Biersack? — He seemed to get a little tense.
— Do you know him? Who are you?
— Yes, I know him, but let's get to a better place — Grabbed my hand and drove me to the entrance.
— You remember the way back? Because I don't — I chuckled
— I hope I do... — He said underneath his breath.
The light began to appear, but we still walked in silence until we were out. He turned to face me and I recognized him.
— You're Vic? Vic Fuentes? I hugged Victor Fuentes? The popular guy who plays soccer? Oh my God, I can't believe it. Please don't mock me for what happened here... — I said a little jumpy and shy.
— Take it easy, I'm not like that... — He said and a grin appeared on his face.
— Thanks God, I don't think I could bear one more bully... — I said, taking a glimpse of his eyes, and then staring at my feet.
— I don't know if you ever noticed, but I like you... — He pulled me to a tight hug and I blushed.
— Y-you like me?! — I blushed more and loosened the hug.
— Yeah... I always look at you and you're the cutest in the room. Oh my... I never thought I would say it out loud — He seemed a little shy.
— I-I like you t-too... — I was as red as a strawberry.
He pulled me to a kiss, a lovely and calm kiss, when we finished kissing, he placed his strong arms around my waist and hugged me softly, then ran his hand through my dark hair, cherishing me.
— Hey, Vic... — I looked at him without loosening the comfy hug.
— Hm... — He gazed at me.
— Why you never said anything?
— I-I don't know, I think I was afraid... You know, the guys at the team, my parents, I don't know... But you never said nothing either.
— It's different, you're the popular, you can have everyone you want to, and I'm just the shy kid with social anxiety... — I loosened the hug to look at his eyes.
— Yeah, I think it is, maybe... — He stopped for a few seconds — But... Do you wanna go on a date tonight?
— God! I never thought I'd hear it from you, of course I want to! — A smile larger than my face appeared.
— Can I drive you home? I know you don't drive yet.
— Yes, thank you — I made a cute face, and blushed a little.
We headed to his car, a big dark blue car. He opened the door to me and I chuckled and blushed a little more.
— You know you don't need to, right? — I smiled.
— What if I want to? — He grinned at me.
— You're a cutie — I looked at him with a smile on my face.
— Me? Have you ever looked in the mirror? You're the cutie here! — He looked at me with a playful expression.
— Oh, stop! — I blushed a dark red.
— Oh, you're blushing! I don't know if exist something cuter than this.
— Stop you'll make me go as red as a strawberry... — I shrunk in the seat.
— I like when you blush — Continued to pay attention at the traffic — Where do you live?
— We are near, just more two blocks then turn right.
— Ok, is it here?
— Yeah, thank you!
— See you at 8 ish? — He looked at me with a cute expression, waiting for an answer.
— Yes, I can't wait! — I chuckled and made an attempt to get out of the car, but he caught my wrist.
— May I have a kiss? — He smirked.
I got back to kiss him, and he pulled me tighter, to a hotter kiss, full of desire and softness. It felt like angels singing. I stopped that heavenly kiss to say:
— Goodbye... — I chuckled and he made a sad face.
— Bye, I'll be here by 8 ish, don't forget about me...
— I won't - A big smile appeared on my face.
7pm, it's time to get ready to go on a date with the guy I have loved since seventh grade, I couldn't believe he liked me too. What will he think if I dress a little girly? Will he hate it? Will he love it? Will he stop liking me? Oh my god I don't know what to do...
Screw it, if I can't be myself, maybe we ara not supposed to be together.
I went to the closet to look for something, I ran my eyes through all my clothes and stopped at a black high waisted plaid skirt, a black and red long sleeve tight shirt, to complete the outfit, I chose a fishnet stockings and black shoes. For the makeup, some blush, eyeliner, mascara and gloss.
My cellphone rang and I went to see who was it, and for my surprise, or not, it was Vic.
— Hey, Kellin!
— Hey, how did you get my number?
— I have my ways...
— I have something for you, and I hope you like it.
— What?
— You will have to wait.
— No, please, tell me...
— No, I'm a little afraid of your reaction, but I'll do it anyway.
— Oh my God, I can't wait to see what it is!
— Promise me you won't mock me.
— Kellin, what are you talking about? I won't! I promise.
— Ok, remember that you promised it, see you.
— Bye.
8 ish was getting closer and I was nervous, hopping he didn't say anything mean or I would cry. I was laying in bed, thinking about all the possible situations. I heard my phone ring, and it was Vic again.
— I'm here and can't wait to see the surprise!
— God! You don't know how nervous and self-conscious I am right now.
— What? Is my surprise you? Some outfit?
— Yeah, you got it...
— Oh Kellin, I'm sure you're looking awesome!
— Ok, I'll appear... Remember that you promised me.
— Yes, I promised and it is still.
I looked through the window and he was leaned on his car, staring at the door, excited for me to appear. I unlocked the door, took a long breathe and stepped outside. His jaw almost dropped, and I blushed so bad, I was nervous as freak. He walked towards me and I was frozen.
— Kells... You... Look amazing! Why were you worrying so much about this? — He said, looking at every detail on me, and then he made me take a little spin, so he could see all my outfit.
— Do you think? Really? — I opened my eyes wide in surprise — Thank God! — I said underneath my breath.
— You're amazing, don't let anyone say the other way around, now we have to go, shall we? — He stretched his hand, waiting for mine.
— Let's go! — I took his hand.
We went to the car and again, he opened the door for me, I felt like a heavenly fairy. Vic drove, listening to post-hardcore songs, we both sang the whole way to the place. Suddenly he stopped and said:
— Kellin, I know it will sound pretty weird, but... Put these blindfold, please... — He handed me a red blindfold — I swear to God that I will do nothing that you don't want to.
— I... — I pondered a little — I trust you — Then took the blindfold and put it on.
— Cool, now I'll guide you to a hidden place — He put one of his hands on my waist and the other on my shoulder.
We began to walk, I could notice it was somewhere into the woods, but after one or two minutes, he finally took off the blindfold. It was a little place between trees, with a table full of food, surely more than we could eat, tons of candles, and Christmas lights.
— Vic, what is it? Where did you find time to do all of this? That's unbelievably beautiful — I said with a big smile on my face.
— Can we just enjoy? Maybe someday I will tell you how I did it, but for now, let's enjoy — He took me by the hand and we both sat to eat.
Once we finished eating, there was a pile of pillows and blankets, so we could lay and chill. I laid my head down on his thigh, he was cherishing me, playing softly with my hair. The sky was full of stars, and the moon shone bright.
— Kells? — He said, trying to look in my eyes.
— Hm — I said, turning to face him.
Suddenly he kissed me, a calm but desperate kiss, he grabbed my waist, and put me on his lap, I put my legs around his muscly torso. When we ran out of breath and had to stop kissing, facing each other, noses touching, irregular breathing, Vic whispered:
— I love you...
The End
