Chapter Text

Jamie was a hundred per cent sure she had never laid eyes on that splendid beauty before, she would’ve remembered, it would’ve been impossible for her to get that face out of her mind.

It seemed as if that was the blonde's first time at a gay bar, strangely at the same time, she appeared to be in her truest element. Her voice sounded like velvet just every time she asked the waitress for another whiskey on the rocks. Same velvety tone she used to politely turn down more than one can I buy you a drink or even much more direct and to the point proposals.

The club was full and a nice background chill music flooded the atmosphere yet she didn’t need to raise her voice in order to be heard.

She’s not from here, the brunette thought. At least, not originally, her American accent is undeniable. But still, too confident to be a newcomer.

Her hair was immaculate. Long blonde waves that made her look like she had come right straight from the hairdresser's. Her hands looked elegant, long delicate fingers and a perfect manicure. But what stood with her the most, was the absolutely perfect suit she was wearing, fitting her like a glove and which made her feel unmentionable things.

Jamie had not acknowledged, too lost in awe for this mysterious woman, that she had been pretty much shamelessly staring for a while now. It was for that reason that she was rather shocked when she noticed the petite and stunning blonde coming towards her side on the bar.

A simple shy yet solid hi made her heart pirouette in her chest. Oh, hey, Jamie replied unready.

A beautiful gold necklace nonchalantly landing on her cleavage with the letters f and r in capital letters immediately drew her attention.

“Well I thought I’d come say hi since you haven’t stopped scanning me from the second I entered the bar. Thought this way you’d be able to take a better look, y’know”

Fuck, that accent. Fuck, that angelic face. Fuck, those delicious lips. The brunette kept repeating herself.

“Guess there's no point in denying that by now, is there?” Jamie shot back quite confidently taking into account she had absolutely been caught off guard.

It somehow felt like her flirting skills were arguably rusty because in any other occasion, she’d have approached her potential conquest far sooner. But this felt different, scary in a way.

“I guess not.” The blonde smiled sincerely offering a hand. “Danielle.”

They shook hands. Instant electricity.

“Jamie.”

“You’re very pretty, Jamie.” Danielle added, sitting on the stool next to her, an amused smile on her face.

Jamie swallowed thickly. She had totally misread this person, thought she’d be this subtle, shy, even distant woman whom she definitely wasn’t worth of.

She was straightforward, her eyes didn’t hesitate, they didn’t lie.

She loved it.

“You’re gorgeous.” She answered back.

“So that’s your final verdict?” Dani playfully asked.

It caught Jamie off guard, again, who looked at her confused.

“I mean, after all that gazing.” The blonde continued with a smug grin on her face.

Jamie lifted an eyebrow at that. “Think you’re gorgeous, hot, mysterious, interesting, an absolute delight to the eyes, an angel on Earth” The brunette playfully added. “That’s the final verdict.”

Jamie didn’t miss the way the blonde pressed her thighs together, which sent heated shockwaves through her low stomach in consequence.

“Tease.” The blonde uttered, evidently flustered.

Jamie smiled cheekily, feeling proud.

Dani drank the remaining of her whiskey in one gulp. “Would you wanna go to my place?”

Jamie thought there had to be a hidden camera somewhere. It was all too perfect. She cleared her throat a bit nervously.

“I mean after we talk a little…" Dani added at seeing her hesitating. "So I know you’re not a serial killer and all that fuss.”

The blonde uttered in a very serious tone, and they both laughed.

They actually talked for a couple of hours, maybe more. Time seemed nothing but a concept. The funny thing was, Jamie felt as if she knew her even less now she had learned lots of random facts about her. For example, she was apparently really really scared of Barnie as a little kid and her favorite food in the world was cheese even though she was highly intolerant to lactose and she had to take a bunch of pills to be able to enjoy it.

The deepest thing she had shared was that her father used to be a florist, and that he’d always say to her that she was the most beautiful flower he had ever seen, when Jamie told her she was a florist herself.

Jamie felt like she had won the lottery, like a kid on Christmas morning. It actually scared her the intensity of it all. It felt like one of those out of body experiences, like watching a scene of her own life but in a movie, like it was fiction, and once the scene was over, this woman would be gone too.

She fought against that thought, convincing herself that the world wasn’t working against her, and that contrary to popular belief, Jamie Taylor did deserve nice things once in a while. So she ventured right into it.

She had been throwing all kind of flattering comments to Dani for a while now, each time making her laugh more and more. Alcohol was a truly ally to that, albeit she wasn't even that drunk, more like floating in a joyful alienation state.

“Has anyone ever told you that your lips look just like a fresh water fountain in the middle of the desert?” Jamie cringed at her own flirtatious remark, but she was too enraptured to even care.

“Oh my fucking God, that one was truly awful.” Dani genuinely laughed, scrunching up her nose.

Jamie felt her cheeks burning. “K, forget that one”

Nevertheless Dani's playful demeanor shifted quickly and her eyes suddenly held a darkened look, and in a matter of seconds those wonderful lips collided with hers, all wet and impatient. She kissed her back letting out a undeniable satisfied groan when the other woman tangled her hair around her fingers pulling quite hard. Danielle tasted a mix of whiskey and blueberry chapstick.

They were truly starving for each other.

“You passed the non-serial killer test. Let 's go”. Dani pecked her lips once more before grabbing her purse and then her arm to get them out of there as soon as possible.

When they got out of the taxi Jamie couldn’t believe her own eyes. “This is….this is your place?”

Jamie stood mouth agape. Maybe she was way more drunk than she anticipated.

She wasn’t expecting any place in particular, but she surely wasn’t expecting to find herself at the Kensington Palace gardens area. Who the hell was this person, she thought.

“It is. You gonna stay there, then? Y’know I'd find it all far more comfortable on my bed but either way count me in.” Dani joked.

“You” Jamie began, as she grabbed her by the waist, kissing her lips as if she couldn’t physically stop herself from doing it. “Are a cheeky thing.”

Suddenly, as if Dani had been reminded of something quite evident, she visibly panicked. “Please just...let’s go inside.”  And she basically dragged her in.

The house from the outside was spectacular. It wasn’t as massive as the typical ones in Kensington, but it was impressive enough for a woman in her late twenties or early thirties to own. It was majestic, old but well preserved. Modern in a way.

The house on the inside, Jamie didn't have a clue. It was all dark, and they didn’t bother to turn on the lights, because that’d mean that they’d have to stop kissing and apparently that wasn’t an option. Plus, their hands were busy with various and more impending needs.

The blonde led her to the master bedroom, and Jamie insisted on turning on the light as Dani started undressing, but the latter refused.

“You have to be a good girl for me, Jamie. Do as you’re told”

Jamie was already a mess, but being told to be a good girl by the very fit and breathtaking woman in front of her didn't quite help. She was drooling over the mesmerizing sight in front of her, light green lace lingerie hugging hips and breasts perfectly— that much the moonlight peaking through the window let her see. She gasped a curse and Dani couldn’t fight a chuckle.

The blonde crawled into the bed and went straight to unzip Jamie’s jeans. As she took the garment off her, she kissed every revealed inch of skin offered to her sight, making Jamie quiver.

She helped her by taking off her own shirt but then struggled to unclasp her bra with Dani being on top of her.

It seemed that waiting wasn’t Dani’s forté. She desperately pushed the cloth down and trapped one of Jamie’s nipples between her lips, making her lose her mind.

As she took care of one nipple with her mouth, she used her hand to caress the other one masterfully. Jamie felt overwhelmed. It was all so fast, kind of harsh.

“Danielle”

But at feeling a kindly offered thigh between her legs and teeth grazing her other nipple she couldn’t but grind herself against it and moan loudly.

“You like that?” Dani asked, and when Jamie managed to look at her, she resembled a vision. Otherworldly. All flustered, beautiful and raw.

“I- ah” She cried when Dani’s thigh hit exactly the right spot. “Love it, keep…God, yes, keep doing that

Dani smiled proudly, tossing long blonde locks to the side to keep on.

Jamie thought she could definitely come just like that, Dani had other plans though.

At the sudden loss of pressure, she had no time to complain as the thigh was successfully replaced by a solid hand cupping her through her boxers.

“Oh fuck.”

Jamie's eager feedback was like music for Dani’s ears.

“Can I?” Dani asked, Jamie nodded intensely.

Then the last garment on Jamie’s body was gracefully discarded and just like that, two fingers effortlessly entered her.

The blonde’s relentless thrusting plus her lips roughly working on her neck were sending Jamie right towards the edge. Two became three, and it feel delightful.

The right curling of Dani's fingers, a thumb skillfully tapping on her clit at the perfect rhythm and most importantly words of encouragement like you're being so good for me and such a nice girl and come for me made Jamie see stars followed by a strain of gasped curses.

Heavy breathings were the only thing heard for a couple of minutes in the darkness of the room.

“Bloody hell you’re so good.”

Dani turned to her side to face her, looking directly into Jamie's eyes, her chest going up and down because of the effort. Surprisingly enough, her smile was now sheepish. “Not to sound needy or anything but, can you go down on me?”

Dani asked gently, almost innocently. It turned Jamie on immeasurably. “You say exactly what you want, a girl after my own heart.”

Dani bit her lip and then let out a little cry of surprise when Jamie literally took her legs and lifted them in order to push her and place her in the middle of the bed.

“God, the state of you.” Jamie couldn’t resist the comment after taking off her soaked underwear, Dani’s legs fell open and Jamie couldn’t take her eyes out of such delicious sight. “Lovely.”

The young woman, shyness nowhere to be found by then placed her legs on top of Jamie’s shoulders and let go of an animal like sound when the other woman’s tongue began working on her most aching spot.

The night was still young, and sleeping wasn't precisely on their schedule.

🔗

The first rays of light entered the room and with the precision of a clock Jamie had the necessity to go to the loo. She was sitting on the toilet with an undeniable grin on her face; sore but in the best of ways, no more than three hours of sleep in her worn out body, when she discerned something.

A frown set on her eyebrows began to grow wider as she tried to decipher what it meant, as she stood up she began looking over the bathroom.

There were toys. Lots of toys. And not precisely the sexual-kind. Did this woman have some sort of a kink?. She really hoped not. Two tiny pink and lilac little pony toothbrushes. Wait. A tiny Ladybug hair brush. There's no way. She was panicking, she didn’t know what was going on, but at the same time she did, painfully so.

“Everything alright, miss?”

“Fuck!” Jamie shouted and the tiny cute hairbrush went flying into the air. “Who-who are you?”

This woman really came out of nowhere “Oh, reckon you must be Ms. Danielle’s friend. She’s waiting for you in the kitchen.”

The middle aged woman replied as she recovered the item from the floor. She was wearing a uniform.

She hadn’t even registered Danielle wasn’t longer in bed.

She was clearly the help. The help, what the fuck, Jamie?. “Sorry for…that.” Jamie referred to the hair brush accident, the woman just smiled politely.

Fuck, was she here while we where shagging last night? Jamie's mind began to race remembering that neither her nor Dani had been precisely quiet or discreet.

“It’s alright, I gave you a scare. You should really go that child's really impatient.” The woman added amusedly.

No kidding, she thought to herself.

“Yeah, ‘course. See ya.”

Jamie thanked the heavens she had decided to put on her shirt before heading to pee, otherwise the scene had been much worse…if that was even possible.

“Well look who decided to finally show up!”

Dani smiled playfully, as she softly smacked Jamie’s ass when she circled the big black and grey marble kitchen island to sit next to her.

Jamie was so confused, she didn’t even know where to start.

“You slept well?” Dani inquired, trying to decipher Jamie’s unreadable expression.

Jamie hummed. She had barely slept but that was the least of her concerns now.

“Oh I see, you’re kinda grumpy in the mornings.” She grinned sincerely. “Try one of Linda’s scones and you’ll forget what the word grumpiness means.” Dani kept carefully observing her, which made her strangely nervous. "Also, black coffee. Best hangover cure." The blonde said through a wink.

Jamie cleared her throat and gathered all of the little composure that was left in her to look her directly in the eyes. Those big, fuck, mesmerizing blue eyes. She hadn't noticed how blue they were the night before.

“Danielle” She started, but then she got lost again. God, she was absolutely fucked, both physically and figuratively. She looked even younger now bathed by the sincere morning light. Her features were soft and tender, eyes puffy, little nose covered by freckles and these impossibly full lips. Yeah, the lips...she was acquainted with. A light blush on her cheeks. Was it natural? Or was it because she was feeling a the same as her? What was she even feeling, though.

“I know what you’re thinking” Dani interrupted her train of thoughts.

She couldn’t. Well she hoped she couldn’t, at least. She’d be so embarrassed, not even a whole day had passed and this wasn't like her, she didn't get infatuated by someone that easily...or at all. The very rare occasions she did this she didn't wish to know anything about her flings, once the wild of the night was over. And more importantly, she definitely never stayed for breakfast, because that only meant complicated and life had shown her how people weren’t worth it.

But still there she was.

“Do you?” Jamie tentatively asked.

“You can ask, though. I promise I won’t bite.” Jamie opened her mouth to talk but, “At least not in this context, as you already know.”

Jamie bit her lip but still a little smile triumphantly escaped her. Flashbacks of the night before invaded her mind relentlessly. She was trying to find the right words, but she felt so clueless. Vulnerable, even.

“Are they….I mean, do children like, are children living here?”

Well, that was definitely the worst and most awkward way of asking.

Dani had to laugh. And Jamie felt she could die for that laugh.

“Yeah, Jamie. I have kids. I’m a mom.” Dani pronounced the word in a very comical way.

Well I wasn’t crazy after all, Jamie thought. “But you look so…”

“Young?”

“That, yeah, but also. Dunno, why didn’t you…”

“Didn’t wanna scare you. I know, shitty move.” Dani looked genuinely ashamed. “In my defense I was a little drunk, and I don’t know…when I go out I like being just...me. No extra baggage.” She sounded sincere. “Wow that sounded trashy. I mean I love my kids, just...y’know”

Jamie simply nodded. At least her ring finger was bare. “But this house…”

“My husband’s”

Fucking hell. Thank God Jamie wasn’t drinking, or eating anything, for that matter, or she’d have spitted everything out.

“I mean. Ex-husband.”

Jamie came back to herself. It was certainly being a wild ride.

“Actually, we’re technically still married. But just to the public eye, we lead separate private lives, kinda.” Dani tried on a smile which didn’t actually reached out to her cheeks.

It was a lot to take on and she was feeling genuinely overwhelmed.

“They’re out in the countryside, with their father and cousins. The twins.” Dani went on as she sipped her black coffee.

Twins. It all felt so strange, she didn’t know why she was suddenly letting out all of this information she had carefully chosen to keep from her just the night prior.

She didn’t know what to say, really. And it definitely didn’t help that the younger woman’s eyes were piercing at her like they were trying to reach into her soul. It was that electricity, the familiar one, again.

Dani leant forward and placed a hand on Jamie’s bare thigh in an attempt to stop its relentless nervous movement, caressing her there. Her hand was placed dangerously close to the no pants zone. Jamie held her breath for a second, but then she placed her own hand on top, stroking her thumb there.

“Last night was…” Dani began, but she couldn’t finish due to a very insistent call coming through her phone. “Sorry, I, I really need to get this”

“Sure.”

Jamie really didn’t wanna overhear but she did, unintentionally. Dani seemed upset, something was clearly wrong.

“But how? Eddie, come on, you should know better. Fuck. Well I have a life too you know?. God, yes, okay. Meet you there. Tell her momma’s gonna be there as soon as possible, bye.”

Yeah, she was definitely upset. She peered an eye over her and observed how she nervously moved from one place to another, seemingly anxious, but also sad.

“Jamie. You need to leave.” Oh. Her heart sunk. “I have to leave too, family emergency.”

Jamie nodded. “Everything okay?”

“Yes, yes. Don’t worry." She did seem preoccupied. "Do you want me to get you a cab? I'll give you some money-"

Jamie frowned and interrupted her immediately. “I can pay for my own taxi, but thanks.” She let out a little ironical laugh.

She obviously felt annoyed, but she knew it wasn't so much for the money thing as for what she familiarly felt it was coming.

“Yeah, of course. Sorry… Jamie, it was really nice.”

Jamie felt it as a farewell, and she hated it, and that was, of course, the main reason for her annoyance. “Can I have your number?” The words were out of her mouth even before she couldn’t consciously process them.

Dani winced and Jamie knew; it had been a one night stand, not less not more. All of that connection, all of that movie thing feeling, she had imagined it all. The joke was on her.

“Jamie. I….look, this can’t happen again. You’re amazing but-.”

“Gotcha.” Jamie faked a smile as she swallowed the thick lump on her throat.

“But listen...” Dani tried some kind of weak explanation.

“Hey, it’s alright. I really hope everything goes well with your family.”

The woman looked genuinely crestfallen, but then again she could totally be faking. She'd be probably putting on an act just to get her night fling out of her place as quickly as possible, just like younger self had done in the past. Karma, perhaps.

Jamie felt piercing eyes on her back as she walked away from the kitchen, and she pathetically waited for some words to be spoken, but they never came.

Jamie got dressed at the speed of light, which was not hard given that she only had to put on her jeans and shoes. A painful sight just before she left the room, an easily million dollar diamond wedding ring sitting on her nightstand, the nightstand next to the bed where they had been having sex just the night before.

What the hell have you got yourself into, twat, Jamie scolded herself. She felt angry and irritated, because she knew that this woman didn't owe her anything, but it still stung so much she could hardly take it. She needed distance, she needed forgetting, she needed to get a fucking grip.

“Goodbye, Jamie.” For the first time since they had met, the blonde's voice sounded shaken.

“Bye.”

She didn’t even look at her, and she was sure she’d regret that for the rest of her life.
