Jorah glanced up from the book he’d been trying to read for almost a month — that’s what happens when there’s a newborn in the house. But he wouldn’t trade these last weeks for anything. His love for Daenerys ran deep but he had not been prepared for the boundless love he felt the second their daughter had come into the world—fierce and determined just like her mother.
He couldn’t help the smile that formed at the corner of his mouth as Daenerys walked through the door. She’d taken to joining him in the study in the afternoons while the baby napped.
He knew one of two things would happen now. One, Daenerys would lay the book down gently on the table then take his hand and lead him to their bedroom. Or two, she would lay a hand on his cheek, lower herself into his lap to tuck herself under his chin and get what rest she could. He would feel her breaths even out and he would absentmindedly place kisses at her crown as he read.
Whichever option she chose, he would honestly love every minute.
