Everyone has a soulmate. Doesn't matter who you are. You have a soulmate. A common misconception is that they are your other half. They are not. Think of it like socks. You are a whole sock. You work on your own. You don't need anyone. A soulmate is someone that is a matching sock. Now soulmates aren't always romantic and that's fine. An aspect of soulmates is sensing emotions from them or even hearing their thoughts.
As previously stated everyone has a soulmate. And with a soulmate comes a soulmate mark. A mark on your body that symbolizes your soulmate. Something that has to do with them. They change over time, often adding things, never removing.
Immortals have these marks. Zues' mark matches Hera, Dionysus to Ariadne, and Poseidon to Athena surprisingly. They ignored that one.
Artemis had been told that she would get a soulmate mark all her life but one never came. Coming to the conclusion that she had no soulmate decided that she would just be a maiden goddess.
She started the hunt, full of people who had been hurt their supposed soulmates, something that should be impossible, but Artemis did not have one so they all had impossible things happen to them.
For centuries, things were good. Until that faithful day, August 18, 1992, when she woke up with a sea green trident on her shoulder.
Understandably, she screamed. Zoe rushed into her tent. "Milady, art thou alright?"
"I... I have a mark." Artemis replied shakily.
Zoe knowing what this entails, decided to accept it and encouraged her to just see how it goes.

All his life, Percy had had a silver moon on his shoulder. He never knew what it meant or why it was there but he knew it was important, maybe life changing. He was only 5 but he knew, it was big.
The day his mom explained soulmates, his mind instantly went blank. His mark was a moon. How was that helpful?
His mother on the other hand, had a pretty good idea on who his mark meant, and if she was right, then the consequences would be disastrous. Perhaps it's best that some thoughts remain just that- thoughts.
LINE BREAK
Percy passed out. He had just fought the Minotaur and carried Grover up the hill. Chiron, the Immortal Centaur of Camp Half-Blood, saw that one of Percy's sleeves had been ripped off. That peaked Chiron's curiosity. Percy always wore long sleeves or hoodies, saying that it was always cold. Even when it was really hot out.
Chiron always thought he was hiding something, and here he had a chance to find out!
Taking a peak, he saw a Silver moon and Hunting bow. Chiron paled. The implications... let's just say he was happy Annabeth had already returned to her cabin.
Throughout the week leading up to the Capture the Flag, his marks were covered. Leaving nothing seen.
LINE BREAK
"POSEIDON!" Artemis heard her bastard of a father call. She instantly snuck up to watch the interaction unfold.
Apparently, Poseidon had broken the oath and sired a demigod. That caught Artemis' intrest. She had managed to keep the fact that she had a soulmate from reaching Olympus, that was bad enough, but if her soulmate was a demigod... well, it would explain the sea green trident mark.
Just like Percy, her other mark came in. Strangely enough, it was Zoë's sword, Anaklusmos. She hoped to the creator that when she sees her soulmate, he better be worthy of that sword.
Years pass, and Artemis watches as Percy goes on quest after quest, each one solidifying her belief that he's her soulmate. And she finally gets to meet him at Westover Hills, a military school where Dr. Thorn, the Manticore, was hiding out.
Percy cursed, one of Dr. Thorns spikes had ended up in his shoulder. Then he heard a hunting horn call.
Next to him Thalia cursed. "Stupid hunters." She muttered.
The hunters came rushing out of the woods and when Percy saw a girl, looking about 14, his breath hitched. A little shorter than him, auburn hair, silver eyes that looked like the... moon.
It was then that it struck him. This was Artemis, Goddess of the Moon, hunt, maidens, wild, etc.
On the other side of him, Grover sighed dreamily. "Ahh, Artemis."
Percy felt jealousy but didn't know why. Until something else hit him. The moon, hunting bow, silver... Artemis was his soulmate and from the way Artemis was sneaking glances, it looked like she knew too.
"Perseus Jackson." Zoë called from behind him. "Follow me, milady wishes to talk to you."
Percy followed Zoë to Artemis' tent where she sat down next to Artemis. Percy sat down across from Artemis while Zoë glared at him.
"You must forgive my hunters if they aren't the most welcoming. Boys are never allowed in my tent or around the hunt. What happened to the last one, Zoë?"
"You turned him into a jackalope." She responded nonchalantly.
"Ah, yes, I quite like turning boys into jackalopes." Artemis said.
Percy gulped nervously. Artemis noticed and smirked. "Relax Perseus, if you are indeed my soulmate, then I can't harm you."
Zoë gasped, apparently not knowing this information. "Him?" She asked incredulously.
Artemis nodded in affirmation. Zoë glared at Percy in response.
"Now, Zoë, we can't get mad when it wasn't his fault." Artemis chastised.
Zoë looked down in disappointment. Percy looked relieved. Artemis looked at Percy intently, trying, and succeeding, at seeing his intentions. They were pretty simple. Don't let people die, if they do, it's your fault!
Artemis was saddened by how her soulmate viewed himself. She realised that they had gotten way off topic and decided to bring it back.
She had Percy explain what the Manticore said and decided on a personal hunt. She called Apollo to take them to Camp Half-Blood.
When Apollo arrived, he looked at Thalia, commented on her being out of a tree. He then turned to Percy. Looked at his shoulder which was covered, then sent him a wink.
After a little argument, Apollo took the demigods and hunters to Camp.
TIME SKIP TO THE LIMO IN THE TITAN'S CURSE
As Percy climbed into the limo, he got a look at Aphrodite. At 1st glance, he thought she was Artemis.
But then he noticed imperfections. Like how she was wearing makeup, which didn't look good. The choking smell of perfume which was terrible compared to Artemis' sent if wild forests and nature in general.
"Ahh, Perseus Jackson!" Aphrodite said.
TIME SKIP TO THE END OF THE TITAN'S CURSE
It was official. Percy WAS Artemis' soulmate. Any doubt that she had and so desperately wanted was gone.
She had seen his sword, her mark, in his hand while trying to rescue her before he took the sky from her. Zoë had even blessed him to wield it.
During the Winter Solstice meeting, she knew that they couldn't kill Percy and Thalia. She took Thalia in the hunt and took a last glance at Percy. Unfortunately for her, Thalia saw.
"Milady, why are you looking at Percy?" The new lieutenant asked.
Artemis said nothing and just rolled her sleeve up showing the Sea Green Trident and Anaklusmos mark on her shoulder.
Thalia gasped. She had seen Percy's mark by accident and now it all made sense.
"You're kelp head's soulmate." She said in disbelief.
"Indeed." Artemis responded.
The year passed and The Battle of the Labyrinth was fought. Percy fell into a little depression. So many of his friends being dead and all that.
As mentioned, you could sometimes feel the emotions that your soulmate is feeling. Feeling the depression that Percy fell into, Artemis began to comfort him.
As time wore on, they grew closer.
But, all good things must come to an end as Typhon had finally broke free and Kronos was beginning his attempt to destroy Olympus. To stand a chance, Percy bathed in the Styx with Artemis as his anchor.
It was a long week full of pain. But both the gods and demigods were successful. Kronos faded and his power locked away for someone in the future to control.
But no rest for Artemis' soulmate, he got kidnapped and had his memory erased, except for Artemis' name and face. He remembered waking up in the wolf house and the only thing he could remember was 'Artemis' accompanied by the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.
From then on, it was chaos, not the primordal-kind though. Percy going to Alaska, getting his memory back, fighting Polybotes, sailing to Rome, fighting the twin giants, falling into Tartarus and coming out alive.
And then it was once again time. Time for Percy fight and piss off someone more powerful than him.
While the other 6 of the 7 fought off giants, Percy fought Gaia, capturing her in a hurricane. In his mind, he helped raise her by a stupid nose bleed, so it was his fault. His wrong to right.
And right it he did. With Gaia off the ground, and Riptide through her heart, she too faded like her son, power locked away for someone in the future to unlock.
As before it was time for the reward ceremony. Hestia and Hades were excited as they were gifted thrones by Percy, to see what he would wish for this time. Little did they know, that it didn't matter what he wished for.
The rest of the 7 had been given minor godhood. Percy had declined and instead wished for the peaceful Titans to be released as they hadn't done that before.
As they were about to dismiss the meeting, the Fates reappeared. "Not yet Zeus!"
"Lady Fates, what a pleasant surprise." Zeus said shocked.
"I believe that we still have a reward to give out. PERSEUS JACKSON, please step forward."
He did. For some reason, Artemis started blushing, Apollo laughing, and the rest of the gods (except the new ones) with looks of realization on their faces.
"Perseus, you are aware that Artemis, when she was 3, asked to be unmarried for life?" The Fates asked.
"Yes, Lady Fates." Percy responded.
"Well, her wish was granted, but with a condition. Lady Athena, if you will." The Fates said.
"Artemis, Goddess of The Hunt, Moon, Wilderness, Childbirth, and Chasing, shall remain unmarried until her soulmate shall free her with only noble intentions in mind. Upon this, as soon as possible, i.e. no prophecies or inconveniences, the 2 party's shall be wed by the most ancient of laws." Athena read aloud for all to hear.
Percy sighed, as he knew what this meant. It was not a sigh of displeasure, as he was quite happy actually, but a sigh of tiredness, for he was tired of having his life dictated by higher beings out of his control.
Percy started to glow as the Fates chanted. His body floating up. Sea-Green light flooded the room getting brighter each second.
After a few minutes, the light died down with Percy's body back on the ground. His body not changed much as it was just a little more muscular, but still lean like a swimmer's.
A silver ring could be seen on his finger with a Sea-Green ring on Artemis'. Next to her throne, a throne made of a greenish-silver metal, rose from the ground scooting the other Gods on that side scooted down.
"All hail Perseus Jackson, God of Tides, Hunting, Time, and Loyalty. The 15th Olympian. Eternal Husband of Artemis!" The Fates announced.
TIME SKIP
As time passed, the couple had time to sort out problems. The hunt had accepted Percy after awhile.
On their 50 year anniversary, they announced their 1st child. A daughter named Zoe, who was actually a reincarnated Zoe Nightshade. That happened after Percy called in one of his many favors from Hades, that he got from, basically everything he's done.
Zoe ended up with the domains of Animals, and Stars.
Their cabins at camp were mostly empty as they didn't cheat on one another and their cabin only being used by the hunt.
And when eternity was over, and fading came knocking on their door, they faced each other, locked lips in a sweet kiss, and faced peaceful bliss forever.
