When I was created, I only had one thing in mind which was my job, but as time pass, I started having more.....
First, it started with an annoying bird, she was so cheerful and outgoing, always sharing her light with anyone around her, even me, who lives in the darkness. When the time was hard on her, I wanted to reach out and hold her, to tell her everything is going to be ok, that
‘I am here with you for as long as you need'
But I can’t, I was a mere entity with no physical body but the role it fits.
‘Whenever you felt me, you greeted me with this light of yours even after your death. How I wish to take you away and protect that warm light of yours.’
When mortal beings start getting smarter, civilization rise and I was there to witness its growth and fall. From that, I met a cute and friendly shark. She was always so bright in her own ways, finding every little thing to look forward to. She even tried to include a mere shadow like me, living in the background, watching and waiting for when the time her city will fall. Oh, how I wish to save her from the sight she had to witness as her city and home crumbles, her people dying and her family gone.
‘How I wish to take you away from that horrifying sight but all I could do was watch as you scream and cry as the light in your eyes dimmer.’
Centuries pass and I felt an interference in the void of time and space.
‘You were but a mere child, who has been given the power of time, but I couldn’t help but watch as you grow, slowly getting better and better with each jump. I worry when I watch as you stumble upon death doors, too many to my liking, but you were, always so strong to get back up.’
You, a mere mortal girl with the gift and curse of time. She, who could destroy but seek to help instead, an admirable mortal, I do say. When I saw her each time, wandering through the timeline, I wish to save the eyes that seek to protect, the eyes that greet me with a smile, and the eyes that hold so much pain that I wish to take away.
‘In the end, all I could do again was to watch as you suffer from the numerous timeline that you enter.’
The Ancient Ones have always been around since the start, like me a mere entity without a body. However, unlike me, they filled a different role, I was there as an apprentice to Death but for them, they were there to seek world domination. I watch as they bring civilization down, creates the plagues that killed millions, and even bring about insanity within the mortal beings. I never once tried to stop them, it was never something I thought about until she came about. She, a young mortal girl, just like that time traveler.
An unfortunate one, stumbling across the ruins of the Ancient One and having their souls tied to hers. I watch as her appearance change and the eyes of her innocent self slowly fade. I watch as she secluded herself, hiding from the world, scared of what she will do. Each day my non-existent heart grows, the need to rush over to her side, and hold her in my arms, as the humans do. How I envy them.
I watch and watch, till the day Death came to me and gave me a new role to fill. The role to learn more about the mortal realm and what they do. It seems I wasn’t the only one to had gotten interested in the world above. When Death was giving me this new role, I could feel a warm gaze from their non-existent eyes when I agree to it. In order to learn more, I decided to request for a body, a mortal body to be exact. My reasoning was that in order to learn more about the world above I need to become as close to them as possible, of course, my powers will come with me but having the feeling of a body would help me integrate into the realm above more. ( that’s what I told myself )
When I stepped into the world above, I had so much to learn, but luckily for me, Death had gotten me a job at 'Hololive?' A job that takes in all types of being and provide them a living settlement to grow and coexist with humans. When I met my 'Holo-mates?', I couldn’t help but laugh to myself, what are the chances of those that have captured my attention to be the ones that I will be living with. It seems too good to be just a coincidence, this was definitely planned by Death it seems.
At first, it was awkward to have met them in person but it seems we all mix well together, each of us has met the other some way or the other before joining Hololive, but this time, this time I could do more than just watch.
'I didn’t want to let go of such an opportunity that whenever I could I gave my all to them and to the fans that support me.'
I didn’t notice as my body got weaker and my eyes blurred till I collapsed one day and only to wake up to each of them holding me gently in their arms. I was supposed to protect them not give them more to worry about but as I was about to speak my mind, I was held tightly into their arms as each of them spoke
“It's ok now, Calli.”
“Rest now, we will take care of you.”
“ It’s ok, we will be here.”
“We will watch over you as you rest.”
Tears welled up in my eyes as I hugged back and spoke the words I wanted to say all along.
“I love you guys.”
