Chapter Text

Outside the window, beeping cars reverberate, the curtains sway in the breeze, and the moon shines through the tiny stars, creating a beautiful scene to photograph or simply enjoy for hours. The tiny clouds also helped to improve the view. For a bit, at least. It wouldn't last long, though. But it was still a pleasant evening.

Unless you’re feeling like shit.

Since then, he'd been experiencing the sensation for several days. He had been in excruciating pain in his head, and he felt like he was going to pass out at any moment. This was the first time he had felt extremely ill, and it wasn't due to the rain the day before, but rather to a particular incident that had brought him to his home. Fortunately, he remembered how it happened, but he was too tired to even comprehend it.

He let out a sigh before a knock on his bedroom door made him turn his head to see it open to reveal his girlfriend, smiling at him while holding a bowl that was steaming. He felt his shoulders relax.

“Hey,” She spoke and wandered over to him, “Are you feeling alright?”

He blinked for a moment before nodding his head. “Yeah...I’ve been doing good, I guess.”

“I brought you soup. You haven’t eaten all day.” She said calmly as she slowly sat next to him while cautiously holding the bowl. “Here, I’ll feed you.”

“Thanks…” He smiled as he watched her slowly blow the soup to cool it down before taking the spoon and starting to feed him carefully. As she was feeding him, they start to have an ongoing conversation.

“Have you experienced anything painful? Heavy pressure? Cough or anything?” Girlfriend asked, placing the empty bowl on the nightstand. Boyfriend shrugged. “Just a small headache, I sometimes cough a bit but I’m perfectly fine for now.”

“I see,” She nodded, placing her hand on his forehead. “You don’t seem to have a high fever. Hm...that’s kinda rare.”

“What do you mean?”

“Well, it’s kinda hard to explain it. Here. Take your temperature real quick,” Girlfriend offered him the thermometer that she was secretly holding in her hand. He nodded before gently taking it. “Try taking it in your shirt.”

“Why?” He raised an eyebrow. “I feel like taking it orally wouldn’t be enough.” Girlfriend replied, “Now take your temperature.”

“Uh...okay,” Boyfriend lifted the collar of his shirt slightly and inserted the thermometer under his armpit. Waiting patiently. “Good.” She sighed and got up from the bed. “Do you remember what happened?” She asked, ruffling her hair. “Kinda. But it’s almost like a blur to me now. I only remember a woman walking past us from the streets….”

“Okay, keep going.”

“Then you were panicking because you said I got attacked or something, I didn’t hear you when I blacked out. That’s all I can remember.”

“I see. You were pretty injured that night. That woman was pretty...strange, to say the least. But I’m glad you’re okay.”

“Say….how long was I passed out?”

“Almost three days by now. I was worried sick about you. But hey, at least you can still go outside, right?”

“.....”

“Boyfriend?”

“....” He glanced down, then to the window. “Hm…..I still can’t get that image in my head now that I mentioned that...incident. It felt like it was yesterday since it happened.”

“....Really?” She replied calmly. “Mhm….it was like I had a numb feeling in my neck.”

“I’m pretty sure it’s nothing,” Girlfriend said, chuckling nervously. “Besides, you’re okay. I mean, it’s not like you’re gonna feel like this forever, right?”

“And what if I do?” He suddenly snapped, which made her jump a bit. “It’s already making me sick all because I almost got fucking killed?!” He snatched the thermometer from his shirt and threw it on the bed. She could see the frustration in his eyes, which were now staring down on the bed. “If we should’ve just headed back home that night, none of this would’ve happened.”

“....” Girlfriend took the thermometer slowly, rubbing her arm a little.  “I...understand.”

Boyfriend looked at her, his hand placed on hers. “Sorry...it’s just something was bothering me. But...I don’t know what it is.” The girl looked down as she almost spilled her words out but bit her lip. Clearing her throat, she pulls him into a hug. “It’s...okay. I know that you’re stressed over that. But it’s now over. Soon, you might forget everything that has happened once we get some fresh air tomorrow. Or we can go get something to eat. Is that okay?”

He didn’t expect the hug but felt some kind of comfort in her words. Which made him feel a bit better.

“Yeah….that would be nice,” He buried his face in her chest. He could hear her gentle giggles.

“Tomorrow, we’ll hang out at 2 pm, okay?”

“Yeah, sure.”

“Good. Don’t stay up too late. Bye!” Boyfriend waved as the front door closed in front of him and laid his back against the frame, letting out a deep breath before heading back to his room. He was quite happy that Girlfriend was giving him the care he needed, despite the awkward tension during the whole convo they had earlier. But it was worth it in the end. Perhaps tomorrow will just be the same.

Right?

The cyan-haired boy entered his room and walked over to his nightstand, glancing at the small box that Girlfriend recommended he keep for safety reasons. He had no idea why, but he figured it would be useful. It wouldn’t hurt to get a good look. He took the box and sat on the bed, opening it to find a small note taped to the side. As he yanked it off, his gaze fell on the paper. The following was written on the paper:

‘Use these things as much as you want. I would keep using them if I were you. -Girlfriend’

He cocked his head, confused. But he shrugged and tossed the note aside before scouring through the box and discovering three different items:

The first thing he took out was a neat-looking white mask. Nicely folded just for him. Boyfriend took a moment to observe the mask before putting it back inside and searching for the second item, which was a necklace. And it wasn’t just an ordinary necklace.

It was a tiny silver cross on a necklace. Nothing specific, but it perplexed him even more. He didn’t expect Girlfriend to give him something like this. He heard stories of people using them to kill vampires, demons, and other evil creatures. So why would he keep it?

Boyfriend shakes his head and decides to wear it, opening the tiny clasp with caution and wrapping the long chain around his neck, his fingernails struggling to close the clasp. But he eventually got it, pretty quickly. Letting out a tired sigh, he went back to see what’s the last thing inside the box. His hand moved back and his expression changed to slight disgust.

When he gently squeezed it, it felt oddly squishy and made a quiet squish noise. Sending shivers to his shoulders. He didn’t want to touch it again, but he also wanted to know what was in it. For fucks sake, it could be a bag filled with guts and organs. But that was just him being dramatic. Girlfriend wouldn’t give him something gross.

Closing his eyes, he quickly snatched the item from the box and held it like it was a rag.

Then he slowly opened his eyes and glanced back at the item, and it disturbed him a bit.

It was a bag of fresh blood. Human blood. All zipped up and everything. Boyfriend let out a small ‘ugh’ before putting it back in the box. It was a good thing that no smell arose from it, otherwise, he would’ve barfed on the spot. He didn’t like the sight or smell of blood. It always grossed him out.

Sure, he enjoyed horror movies that involved gore that he watched with Girlfriend, but he didn’t like to see it for himself.

At least that was the last item in the box, for sure he’s going to use the necklace for now. There was no reason for the mask and bag of blood so he headed back to bed, looking at the time. Just 1 AM. It wasn’t that late. Well, Boyfriend had an unbalanced sleep schedule so it was fair for him.

As he snuggled under the covers, his arms hugging his pillow, he slowly closed his eyes, the view of the window blurring until it was completely dark.

“I’m home!” Girlfriend shouted out as she closed the door behind her, taking off her shoes and heading upstairs quietly. Her parents must’ve been asleep by now. Or at least her father did.

“Welcome home, sweetie,” She flinched and turned to the right to see her mother, arms crossed. “I thought I heard a noise downstairs.”

Girlfriend chuckled nervously, “Sorry.”

“We specifically said to get home by at least 10 pm. But I guess that little boyfriend of yours was that important, huh?”

“He was getting kinda sick so I had to head over to his house,” She frowned, “I gave him the things you told me to give him, though.”

The woman nodded, “Good. It’s best that he should take good care of them. It took your father an hour to find that blood.”

Girlfriend nodded, “Yeah….may I ask you something, Mom?”

“What is it, honey?”

“Do you think the bite was enough for him to...you know,” She didn’t want to get into full detail as it would worry her. Mommy Mearest's eyes widened in surprise, then let out a laugh. But not too loud for her husband to wake up. “Possibly.” Her eyes averted away, glancing at the window. At the moon.

“Are you sure?”

“Maybe. Who knows? You would have to see it for yourself tomorrow morning. Besides, we both know that he’s not really sick.”

Girlfriend glanced down, her frown slightly lifted to a small smile. “Yeah...you’re right. I was just being dramatic then,” She laughed warmly. “Though, I have a very bad feeling that he won’t act the way he usually does…”

“What?”

“It’s nothing,” Mommy Mearest shook her head, “Time to head to bed, dear.” She gently patted her head before kissing her cheek. “Good night,” And with that, she went back to her room. Leaving Girlfriend confused.

What did she mean by that? What bad feeling?

She couldn't understand, so she went to her bedroom, ignoring what she had just said, and quickly changed into her nightwear before removing the thermometer she had been carrying the whole time. Taking a look at the temperature. Her smile fading into a frown once more. She was well aware of it. And it made her sad. It's too late for him to go back.

For what he was before.

She could just imagine the horrible experience he must be having at this hour, once the moon comes. Just thinking about it makes her heart break a little, almost tearing up. But she had to accept what has been done.

So, she laid on the bed, putting the thermometer away and wrapping herself with the warm covers, turning off the light.

Tomorrow will definitely be different, so different.

He was there, his head hung low, his hands clutching his hair, groaning as he felt a burning sensation inside his body. Around 3 a.m., Boyfriend was in his bathroom when he awoke feeling weird. When he felt a sharp pain, he dashed to his bathroom, baffled as to what was wrong with him.

“It...h-hurts…” He groaned out as he felt his hands tighten a bit, his teeth feeling some kind of pressure as if his teeth were pulling themselves out. His eyes closed shut, and he began to scream in pure agony. The pain was so bad. It was torture. He has never been in so much pain before, he could pass out at any minute.

But he didn’t.

After minutes or hours, the pain suddenly faded. Gone. It was all over, thankfully. But why did it happen?

Well, he shouldn’t have known this sooner as he looked at the mirror, horrified at what he’s looking at.

His skin was pale white instead of his natural color. His nails were sharp and crimson, matching his blood-red eyes, which were wide with surprise. Two razor-sharp fangs followed his teeth.

He backed away, stumbling words in his mouth. This wasn't him at all. It can't possibly be him. Isn't this all but a dream?

Boyfriend looked at his hands, then back to the mirror.

No, this was real.

He completely changed.

Screaming, he shattered the mirror, leaving holes in the glass as bits and pieces fell to the white floor. He dashed out of the bathroom without closing the door.

His hands scratched his collarbone, feeling some kind of irritating itch for some reason. It wasn’t a bug. Nor a casual itch.

It was the cross.

Boyfriend touched the necklace before flinching away from a slight burn. With a frustrated howl, he pulled it off and tossed it away before falling on the floor and hugging his knees.

He burst into tears and his body shook in despair, as though he really wanted to. He couldn't care less if his nails almost pierced his skin while hugging himself, or if he'd be a teary mess with his shirt soaked.

Boyfriend was devastated by this. He had never expected to transform into a vampire in his life. In fact, he had no idea that the woman was one and tried to push him to become one against his will.

It was like a nightmare come true.

…..

And in the end, he didn’t sleep through the whole night.

Hi, this is my first work on this website. I hope you enjoyed it!

I really don't know why I'm obsessed with making vampire stories.
