When Joseph got the call from Holly to come over to Japan, he went no questions asked. Anything for his daughter.
She also asked him to help with her daughter, though the line must’ve cut out. The name he heard sounded different from Junko’s name.
He hasn’t seen Jojo in a long time. The last time he’s seen her was when she was just 10 years old. He had been meaning to see her again soon, but work in America got too busy. He was overdue for a visit anyways, it's been 7 years after all.
“Papa!” Holly wrapped him in a big hug when he landed. “I can't believe you're here. Thank you for coming!”
“Hey, you're my one and only daughter. If you need me to be somewhere just give me a day and I'll cross the globe”
“Papa, I need your help! Jojo was arrested and he won't come out! He keeps talking about some evil spirit!” Holly spoke english really well for living in Japan for all these years, so it must’ve just been a slip of the tongue. Joseph then got to his daughters eye level
“Don’t worry Holly, I will figure out what's going on with Jojo, ok?”
“You’re the best Papa!” Holly smiled, he loved her smile. Though he didn’t know how she could smile like that when her daughter is sitting in a jail cell.
Getting to the jail was no problem, inside though, was another story. The guards kept warning him to not approach the man in the last cell, they said he was very dangerous and that it was best to leave him be. Joseph knew that what Jojo had was most likely a stand. It was probably not like his Hermit Purple though. That's why he brought an old friend to help him.
“You might want to be more cautious Mr. Joestar” Avdol was walking behind Joseph. It was clear that he didn’t want to be noticed by the other prisoners even though his clothes were unusual to them.
“This other prisoner could be another stand user”
Joseph thought that too, it was very possible from the fact that the guards were so afraid of this man.
“After we deal with Junko we’ll check out this other prisoner”
Avdol nodded, this other man was dangerous, but all Joseph had in mind was his granddaughter.
The cell that the three stopped at was rather large, but at first only appeared to have one man in it. Upon closer inspection he could see that the other prisoners were hiding in the back corner of the cell.
“Who the hell are you?” The prisoner had a school uniform on, anyone could tell at first glance that he was a delinquent.
“Jotaro this is your grandfather, he’s here to help you”
...Grandfather? He doesn’t recall having a grandson.. Holly clearly said Jotaro so she wasn’t talking to Junko. Now that he looks she wasn’t in the cell at all. So does that mean…
“Jotaro it’s time to come out” Joseph didn’t really know what was happening, but this is the boy that Holly was talking about.
“No, I’ve told you, I’m possessed by an evil spirit”
“You need to come out now”
“I’ll just have to show you”
Jotaro held up a gun to his head, his finger was on the trigger. Holly immediately screamed
“Jorato wait!”
When he fired the gun a purple hand appeared to hold the bullet. This confirmed Joseph's suspicions.
“Did you see it?”
Jotaro was breathing heavily, he was clearly scared. So he really believes that he is protecting everyone.
“I like you to meet an Egyptian friend. I met him a few years ago. Say hello to Avdol”
This is when Avdol stood up to make his appearance.
“Do what you need to”

Luckily Jotaro finally came out of his cell thanks to Avdol.
Though there was something that Joseph was still confused on, so he pulled Holly aside.
“Holly… There is something I need to ask you”
His daughter had her usual smile on her face,
“Yes Papa?”
“Is Jotaro… how do I put this… Is Junko also Jotaro?”
Holly looked surprised, then laughed
“Haha! I must’ve forgotten to tell you, though you did figure it out fast!”
Now it was Joseph’s turn to look surprised, He figured out what?
“Jotaro used to be Junko, but now he’s Jotaro!”
Joseph didn’t understand. How could someone change that drastically? Didn’t they feel good about themself? What caused him to change like that?
“So is he… okay? Is there something wrong?”
Holly smiled at her father “Nothing is wrong at all, he is just being who he truly is. I hope you can understand that”
Joseph smiled “If this is who he truly is, then I will do my best to support him”
Holly pulled her father in a hug “Thank you Papa! I’m sure Jotaro really appreciates it!”
He hugged her back, There were some things he still didn’t understand, but he would do his best.
“Now let's go see my grandson before he gets into more trouble!”
