Chapter Text

Kirishima looked up at the bright neon sign. He sighed, turning to Kaminari, “Are you sure this is the place?”

“Of course I’m sure! When have I ever not been sure?” Kaminari gave him a thumbs up and stepped through the threshold of the bar.

Kirishima looked up once more reading the sign, Light Sabers . It seemed like the perfect place to drink yourself to death and forget the world. Perfect. Lately Kirishima had been so preoccupied with his schoolwork; his first semester of his second year at university and he was already falling behind. He had been finding it increasingly difficult to concentrate in his classes and study. Of course it didn’t help that his best friend since high school coincidentally took most of the same classes as him and they spent almost every day together. Bakugo. Just thinking of his friend brought a smile to Kirishima’s face. Bakugo was invited to join him and Kaminari but was busy with work.

Quickly realizing where he was, Kirishima put on a nonchalant face and followed Kaminari into the building. He thought his eardrums burst when he walked in. The only music he could listen to at full volume was One Direction. There were bodies moving everywhere and the only source of light was a few pink lasers moving back and forth. Thanks to Kaminari’s electric blond hair, Kirishima was able to easily spot him at the bar.

“A virgin mary please!” Kaminari was yelling at the bartender as if he was already drunk. “Oh hey dude! Make that two!” Kirishima looked at the poor bartender who was glaring incredulously at Kaminari.

“Sorry about him,” The red head smacked the blond like a mother would. “He means one virgin margarita,” he gestured to Kaminari, “and one beer, the cheapest you have.”

“Coming right — hey wait don’t I know you?” The bartender took a closer look at Kirishima and Kaminari who were both frozen in confusion. “Yes! UA High right? Class A!”

“Yo how’d you — Uraraka?” Kaminari grabbed Kirishima’s arm. “It’s Uraraka! Remember?”

“Oh shit!” Kirishima’s eyes widened at the realization that his high school peer was here. Witnessing him about to drink himself stupid no less. “How you been? You still in touch with Midoriya? I remember you two were inseparable,” he said.

Uraraka blushed as she opened a beer bottle. “I am,” she handed Kirishima the bottle, “He actually works here with me,” she took a glass from the shelf, “I pulled the short stick tonight and got bathroom duty but he volunteered to do it for me the little saint,” She gave a little giggle and squeezed a pre sliced lime into the glass.

“Good to know you and Midoriya are doing good.” Kirishima sipped his beer and turned his head. He faintly heard Kaminari and Uraraka reminiscing about their high school days as he watched the other patrons. He saw a woman in a quite ridiculous outfit with matching makeup dance around on a small stage. The crowd cheered as she fell straight onto her back, giving Kirishima a heart attack, but she got up and kept dancing like it was nothing. He continued to survey the room watching the other dancers prance around in their flashy dresses and makeup. His eyes eventually caught on one girl. As an avid fan of manliness (and being a gay disaster) Kirishima knew good muscles when he saw them; and her simple black leotard showed off her incredible muscles. Her makeup softened her harsh features without being too over the top like many of the other girls’. A small collar with a bow tie sat delicately on her collarbones. She had straight blond bangs that pointed in every direction with the rest of her hair behind a headband with bunny ears tied back into pigtails. She was grinding on top of a man who seemed to be enjoying himself too much, if the tent in his pants was anything to go by.

“- and Bakugo actually”

Kirishima turned himself back to Uraraka and Kaminari at the sound of his best friend's name, “Huh? What about Bakugo?”

“Bakugo works h-”

“Save me please!” Before Uraraka could finish her sentence Midoriya pushed himself between Kaminari and Kirishima. “Th-the amount of people I-I’ve seen miss the toilet or,” he did the gesture with his hands, “I don’t think I can handle much more of this Ochako.”

Uraraka sighed, “You say this every time you do bathroom duty Izuku, and every time you make it out alive.”

“Hey chin up Midoriya!” Kaminari slapped his back.

“Oh! Hi Kaminari! And Kirishima? Wow! I didn’t know you guys came to this kind of place.” Midoriya smiled as Uraraka handed him a glass of water.

“Us? Of course! Hot babes, good drinks, loud music, and my best buddy Kiri here! What’s more to want!” Kaminari almost spilled his virgin margarita with his enthusiasm.

“Well you guys have a good time! I have to go back to the bathrooms,” Midoriya took one last sip of water, put on a brave face, and headed to the back.

“Bless his soul,” Uraraka put her hands together.

“He seems to be doing good albeit a little scandalized,” Kirishima laughed. “So you know any hot babes here who wouldn’t be intimidated by us manly handsome young gentlemen?” He grabbed Kaminari’s shoulder and gave Uraraka a wicked smile and a thumbs up.

Uraraka smiled back. A little awkwardly though. “If you want girls you might want to try somewhere else. You see this—”

“Dude! Holy shit look at her ass!” Kaminari slammed his virgin margarita on the counter and pointed his finger into the abyss of people. Kirishima tried to follow it.

“Yo bro you gotta get her number!” Despite not having even seen the exact girl he was pointing at, Kirishima grabbed Kaminari’s arm and pulled him to the general direction he pointed in. “Thanks for the drinks Uraraka! Make us a tab!”

xXx

Once in the sea of people, Kirishima panicked. He didn’t know which girl Kaminari noticed. However, he didn’t need to know as Kaminari pulled his arm so hard he face planted into the floor.

“Get up dummy! She’s so hot.” Even though he was on the ground, Kirishima let out a hefty laugh at his friend’s eagerness. “C’mon man hurry or I’m leaving you!”

Suddenly a hand appeared in front of Kirishima’s face. He looked up to see the blonde girl with pigtails and bunny ears holding out a helping hand. “You okay?” she laughed. Her voice was deep. Raspy too. Manly. “I’ve never seen someone fall flat on their face like that!”

“I’m leaving you!”

Kirishima looked up at the laughing goddess. He took her hand and she helped him up. She was strong.

“Thank you.” Kirishima stared at her unblinking. He felt drunk despite only having half a beer.

“Oh god your face.”

“My face yeah,” Kirishima noticed her eyes were the most beautiful shade of red. Dark. Like—

“Blood. Your nose is bleeding.”

“Hu- what-? Oh shit!” Kirishima clapped a hand over his nose. He tasted metal.

“Go to the bathroom dumbass!”

“Come with me?” the girl grabbed his free hand and pulled him to the bathroom. On the way there Kirishima could vaguely identify the shape of his friend who had deserted him, and with good reason. Kaminari was currently pressed up against a wall, heavily making out with a girl who, admittedly, had a nice ass. Not as nice as the girl leading him to the bathroom though.

“Oh hey Dynamight!” Midoriya greeted the girl. That’s a weird name , Kirishima thought. Must be from America or something . “Kirishima? Where’s Kaminari?” The girl, Dynamight, stopped dead in her tracks and let go of Kirishima’s hand. “Wh-what are two going to do in there…?” Midoriya looked like he wanted to die.

Dynamight quickly turned to face Kirishima. She looked closely at his bloody face and pursed her lips. “Fucking shitty hair,” she whispered. “Shut up Deku. He fell on his face and got a stupid bloody nose. We’re not doing… that .”

Midoriya visibly relaxed. Kirishima piped up excitedly, “Yeah don’t worry bro! I’m just bleeding out and this beauty is taking care of me!” Dynamight sighed and opened the bathroom door. She walked in and Kirishima followed her, giving Midoriya a thumbs up. Midoriya sighed. It did take him a few days to figure it out but he thought Kirishima would be more observant.

xXx

“Here, to stop the bleeding.” Kirishima took the wad of toilet paper Dynamight was holding.

“Thanks,” he winked and attempted a smolder but it was hard when his face was covered in blood and toilet paper.

“Fucking gross.” She started to walk out but Kirishima stopped her.

“Wait no please don’t go!” He looked at the ground. “I… I don’t like being alone.”

She turned back to look at him, her eyebrow raised. “Fine.”

Kirishima did a little dance. “Yay! Thank you! Oh oops,” a small drop of blood landed on the floor. In fact, he had left quite the trail of blood in his wake. “Sorry about that,” he gestured to the blood.

“Don’t worry ‘bout it, shitty hair. There have been more bodily fluids in this bathroom than you can name.” Dynamight crossed her arms over her chest. “So, why did you come to this shithole?”

“Shithole? I think this place is quite nice.” Kirishima noted some graffiti on the wall that read lick my cunt . “You called me shitty hair,” he laughed. “Only my best friend calls me that. I guess this really means I should change my hair,” Looking in the mirror he gently touched his over gelled dyed hair. “Anyways, my friend’s been coming here for a while and thought I should come. He wanted me to get in on the ‘experience’, since I’ve been having a hard time in school and this place is apparently a great distraction from your problems.”

Dynamight rolled her eyes. Of course that idiot Pikachu wouldn’t know what kind of club this is. “And how’s your experience so far?”

“Well now that I’ve met you uh… Dynamight was it?” Dynamight nodded, a smile playing on her lips. “It’s been pretty fun!” Kirishima readjusted the toilet paper and exhaled. “But it’s not really classes that I need to take my mind off though. There’s this one guy who’s constantly on my mind and I can’t seem to stop thinking about him.”

Dynamight gave him a curious look. “Why not?”

“I don’t know man... Oh my bad, a beautiful lady such as yourself probably doesn’t like to be called ‘man.’” Dynamight let out a laugh at Kirishima’s idiocy. “He’s very smart and studious, manly too you know, strong, a great friend although he is a little blunt… I just… I find myself staring at him… and his muscles… and imagining… us. Just us. Together.” He paused and looked at Dynamight. “What do you think?”

Dynamight chewed on her bottom lip. “Well… it sounds like you have a crush. On him.” she reluctantly replied. Kirishima’s eyes widened, a dumbfounded expression on his face. She let out an exasperated sigh. “Thinking about being with another person is basically ‘Having A Crush 101’ dumbass.”

“Dude. You just opened my eyes. I could kiss you! Can I kiss you?”

“The fuck-? I mean sure but-?” Dynamight was cut off as Kirishima smashed their lips together. She tasted his blood which she found a little disgusting but she kissed him back anyways. Kirishima got rid of the toilet paper in his hand and grabbed Dynamight’s face, deepening the kiss. He inhaled deeply, loving the smell of her sugary perfume. He nibbled her bottom lip pulling a quiet moan from her which allowed Kirishima’s tongue to enter. They tilted their heads and their tongues battled for dominance. Kirishima moved his hands to Dynamight’s waist and pulled her in closer. Just as they broke apart for air, Kaminari wobbled in.

“Bro. Bro. Bro. I just met the fucking love of my life!” His words were slurred and he seemed to be leaning slightly too far to the right. “Oh shit! Were you guys about to bone?” Kirishima face palmed. “She’s hot man, nice j-” Kaminari promptly threw up on the ground centimeters away from Kirishima’s limited edition One Direction converse.

“Kaminari please tell me you made it to the toilet!” Midoriya’s voice called from outside.

“Guess that ruined the moment huh?” Kirishima chuckled. Dynamight let out a small laugh too.

“Should probably take care of him.” She pointed to Kaminari who was sitting against the wall staring off into space.

“Yeah…” Kirishima took a good look at his friend. Someone clearly had let him have a whole beer. Kaminari could have ¾ max before becoming a puddle. “Hey listen thank you so much.”

“For what?”

“For everything I guess? Helping me realize my feelings. That fucking kiss holy shit. Sorry if that was out of the blue I just wanted to do it before I maybe got myself a boyfriend,” Kirishima said, wiggling his eyebrows.

“Glad I could help,” Dynamight replied.

“Now. What are we going to do with you?” Kirishima looked down at Kaminari, hands on hips like a suburban mom at a soccer game.

“Carry me?” Kaminari gave his best puppy eyes.

“No. Get up.” Kirishima held out an arm and pulled Kaminari off the floor. “We’re going to get you home and you’re going to brush your teeth and go straight to bed.” Kaminari whined at that but complied when Kirishima tightened his grip. He was opening the door when he paused and turned around to face Dynamight, who was adjusting her headband and collar. “Thanks again. I hope I’m able to see you sometime. soon, It was nice meeting you!”

“Pleasure to meet you too,” she replied.

xXx

Kirishima was late to class. His bag was still open and he swore he heard a pencil or two fall out. This morning, he had woken to the sound of Kaminari retching despite having thrown up the previous night. Since Kirishima was such a good friend, he made his friend breakfast. However, he was unable to eat that breakfast and ended up having to run to his morning class.

“Dude where the fuck have you been?” Bakugo yelled at Kirishima. “I’ve been waiting for five minutes you shithead!” He started running with Kirishima to their first class.

“Sorry man,” Kirishima said as Bakugo handed him a small loaf of. milk bread wrapped in aluminum foil. “Kaminari had a beer last night.” Kirishima ripped open the foil with his sharp teeth.

“A whole beer?” Bakugo raised his eyebrows in surprise. “That must’ve sucked ass.”

They slowed their pace as they neared the building.

“Sorry. You could have gone ahead without me,” Kirishima panted and swallowed the last of the milk bread. “You even got me breakfast, how kind. Don’t tell me you’ve gone soft.”

“Tch. You were late and I had extra from my batch last night,” Bakugo looked away. “Plus, it’s tradition to walk to class together. It’s not like I care or anything.”

“Of course, god forbid Katsuki Bakugo have ~feelings~.” Kirishima made a kissy face at his best friend who proceeded to shove him toward the door and look away, the blush creeping up his neck going unnoticed by Kirishima.

“Yeah yeah whatever. Just go inside.”

“Eh we’re a little late but it’s not like Aizawa’s going to be on time am I right?”

The pair entered the lecture hall and took their respective seats. Next to each other of course.

“Wow Bakugo. You’re late,” Sero commented from behind them. “And a whole five minutes no less, are you feeling alright?”

“Shut up nerd, Kiri was late, not me, blame him.” Bakugo snarled.

“Awww, does that mean you waited for him?” Ashido cooed, poking his cheek. “You do have emotions! My little Bakugo is maturing.”

“Shut the fuck up or I’ll blow you up.” Ashido and Sero laughed it off and turned toward each other.

“Hey Bakugo?” Kirishima piped up right next to the boy. He decided last night he wanted to tell Bakugo his feelings. He didn’t have a plan but he was feeling impulsive that morning . “I uhm, I wanted to tell you something.”

“Hm? What is it shitty hair?”

“Something important.” Bakugo jerked his head as if to say spit it out . “Okay. Last night I kind of realized that-“

“Alright students. I’ll ignore those of you who were late,” Aizawa glanced at Bakugo and Kirishima, “if you ignore that I’m the latest.” He gave his students his signature creepy smile and proceeded to pull out whiteboard markers and talk about the many different ways to integrate.

This was all review for Kirishima so he used the time to reflect on the previous night. I wanted to tell Bakugo I like him but Mr. Aizawa interrupted humph. Was that a good thing though? Should I tell Bakugo I like him? Or would that be weird because I, myself just found out? It was a kind of rash decision to try to tell him right before class. He probably doesn’t even like me back. But what if he did? That girl seemed pretty smart. Maybe I should go back and ask her advice? She was a great kisser and she was really hot. Very muscular and a deep voice but I liked that. Kind of want to kiss her again… Oh shit. Wait… does that mean I have a crush on her too? Oh no no no. This can’t happen. Just when I finally figured out my feelings for Bakugo now this girl comes and ruins it. I feel like I can still smell her delicious perfume. Am I that deep in already? Kirishima put his face in his hands.

“Kirishima is there something wrong?” Aizawa stared at him unblinking. Kirishima felt exposed.

“No sir,” He replied, giving his teacher a salute.

“Good. Then perhaps could you solve this problem?” Aizawa tapped the white board with the marker.

Nodding, Kirishima stood up and walked to the board where an equation was written out. He took a look at it and thought about how to solve it. Thanks to Bakugo’s tutoring last year he was able to remember tabular method. He carefully drew a table and found the derivative of the designated u and integrated dv . He could feel many sets of eyes staring at his back, which didn’t bother him too much. What really bothered him was one particular set of blood red eyes which seemed to be boring a hole into his new band T-shirt.

“Look it’s like one of those cool band shirts like Nirvana or My Chemical Romance but with One Direction! Isn’t that neat!” Bakugo hit him on the head.

“That’s fucking dumb shitty hair. You can’t even speak english.”

He finished solving the problem and went back to his seat beside Bakugo.

“Fucking dumbass, you forgot to change the signs,” Bakugo pointed to his own work scribbled in a notebook.

“He’s right Kirishima.” Aizawa started to write the correct answer right below Kirishima’s work. “You just forgot to alternate between positive and negative down the column. Other than that good job.”

Kirishima frowned and copied Aizawa’s answer in his notebook. He needed to ask Bakugo for help with integration by parts again.

xXx

“Man I’m beat,” Kaminari opened the door to his and Kirishima’s shared apartment. “Oh hey Bakubro.” It was a common occurrence for Bakugo to be at their apartment. Being stubborn, Bakugo insisted he would live in the school dorms. However, that meant a stranger for a roommate. Said roommate was apparently a sex god and Bakugo had to bleach his eyeballs too many times to count.

“Kaminari you’re back!” Kirishima put down his textbook and stood up from the couch to hug his friend. “You feeling better?”

“Lots, thanks for making me breakfast man. It felt so good to have food in my stomach.” Kaminari caressed his stomach like he was pregnant.

“You’re so fucking weird pikachu,” Bakugo muttered from the kitchen. Kaminari stuck his tongue out at him.

“You should come with me and Kiri next time we go out. It was a blast! We even saw Uraraka and Midoriya!” Kaminari excitedly chattered. “I still don’t know how I never noticed them. I go there at least once a week.”

“You’re just not observant,” Kirishima poked at him.

“Dumbass probably wouldn’t even know if he was making out with a guy or girl,” Bakugo chimed in aggressively whisking something.

“Hey! I’ll show you!” Kaminari pouted. “Come with us this weekend! Kiri’s free you’re free right dude he’s definitely free!”

“Can’t,” Bakugo gruffed. He hit the whisk on the side of the bowl with more force than necessary. “Got work.”

“You always have work whenever we want to go out. Boo. Kiri boo him. Boo.” Kirishima laughed as Bakugo handed him the discarded whisk. He knew the redhead loved to lick his cake batter.

“He’s a busy dude. Not everyone has time to party like you do.”

“Shush you. C’mon, your name is Baku- go not Baku-stay-inside-like-an-old-man.” Kaminari snuck a lick from the whisk as he watched Bakugo reach for some water. “I want you to see this hottie I met last night! We made out for a good 10 minutes! She had a wicked tongue and we even grinded on each other!” Kirishima dropped the whisk and Bakugo choked on his water. “Pretty please?” Kaminari gave him his signature puppy eyes.

“Kaminari we shouldn’t force Bakugo to do something he doesn’t want,” Kirishima was actually kind of glad Bakugo didn’t want to come. He was feeling conflicted and wanted to see that girl again. Dynamight. He needed to know his true feelings for her and for Bakugo. Many hours of thinking had led the red head to realize he had been crushing on Bakugo since their second year of high school. And now that he realizes its a crush a new person comes into his life and makes him question his love for Bakugo. Love? Shit.

“Oh hell no shitty hair. You don’t get to decide for me. Now I’m definitely coming,” growled Bakugo.

That’s Bakugo. Too manly for other people to defend him. Kirishima thought.

“Next weekend,” Bakugo pointed as he rinsed the dropped whisk.

“Thank you thank you thank you Kirishima!” Kaminari rushed to hug Kirishima. “You always know exactly what to say to manipulate Baka-go into doing what we want!”

“Hold it right there you pika bitch-” Bakugo stood up and charged toward Kaminari who screeched and ran the opposite direction.

xXx

The second Kirishima got to Light Sabers he went straight to the bar, ordered a vodka straight (not gay), and downed it in negative three seconds. He didn’t even feel his throat burn. There was no way he could be completely sober for what he wanted to do. This time Midoriya was standing beside Uraraka instead of beside the bathrooms.

“Kirishima! Kaminari! You’re back! Oh and Sero too! Hi guys!” Midoriya waved to the three.

“Midoriya my man!” Kaminari held out his hand for a fist bump which Midoriya returned.

“Hey Midoriya, hey Uraraka long time no see,” Sero waved to the two bartenders.

“You’re here again!” Uraraka said. “What can I get you guys?”

“I’ll have a cosmo.” Sero replied.

Sex and the City fan ?” Uraraka asked through a laugh.

“He’s a slut for that show!” Kaminari slapped Sero on the back as Uraraka reached for the vodka and cointreau. “Can I have a shirley temple? Extra cherries?”

Midoriya replied, “Of course, but keep in mind I’m not giving you any more than two sips of a beer tonight got it?”

“I really don’t get how anyone can be such a lightweight.” commented Sero. “I mean the average beer has only about five percent alcohol content and yet you get tipsy after a fourth.” Uraraka handed him his cosmo.

“My mom always told me I was special!” grinned Kaminari.

“Hey where’d Kirishima go?” Midoriya handed Kaminari his Shirley temple who immediately ate the cherries. “I saw him come in and down some vodka like it was water; is he okay?”

“He had an epiphany and wants to find that girl he met the other night,” Kaminari said through a mouthful of cherries. “Said she changed his life.” Midoriya and Uraraka looked at each other with discouraging looks in their eyes.

He spent a good 10 minutes in the bathroom with him. How does he not know ? Midoriya rolled his eyes. His friends were hopeless.

Kaminari set his glass down a little too forcefully on the counter having already finished his drink. “Wow! That shirley temple really got me fired up!” Sero snickered at his friend. “Time to go find that girl I made out with last night!”

Absolutely hopeless. Midoriya sighed. Uraraka nudged him with her shoulder.

“They’re bound to find out eventually,” she said through a tight smile. “Right?”

xXx

I wonder if she’s here . Kirishima was walking around looking for a blonde with perfect muscles and even more perfect advice. He was very confused about his feelings for her and another blond and felt that she would be able to help.

He had been looking for a good ten minutes. He thought he spotted her after seven but turns out it was just another blond: Kaminari. He had found his girl from last time and was practically having sex right out in the open. Kirishima shuddered; he loved his friend but he didn’t need to see that.

He was about to give up looking when he finally spotted her. No bunny ears or pigtails. That explains why it took me so long to find her . Kirishima weaved through the crowd until he got to her. Dynamight was wearing short shorts, like short short short shorts, and a red bustier top. Her hair was down in soft waves practically floating around her while her bangs remained straight and pointed. She was casually dancing with another man. Kirishima’s blood simmered. He knew they weren’t a thing. Heck, they hardly even knew each other, but it still made him want to drop kick the other guy.

Kirishima eventually got close enough to where he called out her name, “Dynamight!” Said girl looked around having heard her name. She scanned the room looking for who could have called name, her gaze landing on Kirishima. Dynamight smiled and excused herself from the man she was dancing with.

“Didn’t think I’d ever see you again, shitty hair,” she said to Kirishima.

“I just… I really wanted to talk to you,” He replied. “I’ve been thinking all week about what you said.”

“Before you keep talking, I should tell you my shift isn’t over for another hour so if you want to talk you’re going to have to wait a little.” Kirishima’s face fell. “Gotta pay tuition somehow, give me an hour.”

Kirishima had been waiting a whole week, an hour shouldn’t be so bad right? “What if I paid you?” Dynamight raised her eyebrows. “How much do you normally make in an hour?”

Dynamight sighed. Kirishima really was desperate. “It ranges a lot depending on what I’m wearing and doing, but on a night like tonight I’d say 3000?”

Kirishima grinned. “Perfect! Here,” he handed her his remaining 3600 yen. Dynamight looked surprised. “Is that enough?” She nodded. “Great! So you remember what you told me that time we met?”

“About you having a crush on your friend?” Dynamight gritted out as she struggled to put Kirishima’s crumpled bills and coins into her pocket.

“Exactly! I thought all week and I think I may actually be in love with him!” Dynamight dropped a 100 yen coin. “But there’s another problem. I’m not sure if I like this other person too.”

“Was one person not enough for you?” she rolled her eyes.

“Well, you see, I don’t think he’ll ever like me back so I don’t even know if it’s worth pursuing,” Kirishima explained.

“Go on.”

“I have a crush on you.”

Silence from Dynamight. Kirishima fiddled with his hands. “I-I don’t know. That night when I first saw you it was like I was drawn to you. I wanted to speak to you but I had to watch my friend. And then I fell on my nose and bled everywhere and we kissed and I don’t know I just felt something.”

Dynamight looked to the right and immediately tensed. “Fuck,” she whispered. “Don’t look now, but my boss behind you, the blond guy with the sunglasses, is giving me the stink eye for not dancing with patrons. I’m gonna have to dance on you for a few okay?”

Kirishima’s face turned as red as his hair. “What?” he squeaked out, “uhm… sure?” She grabbed his arm and pulled him to a chair. “Sit.” Kirishima did as instructed not knowing what was about to come. Dynamight proceeded to stand with his thighs in between hers. She started to move her hips. First side to side and then in a circle. Kirishima’s mouth went dry. He was getting a lap dance. Dynamight brought her face close to his. For a moment he thought she was going to kiss him but at the last second she turned her head and whispered, “You paid for this dumbass. Keep talking.”

“Yes yes. Ahem. Uhm. So I think I have a crush on you,” Kirishima couldn’t stop watching her thighs. The muscles tensed and relaxed as she placed her hands on his thighs and dropped her hips low to the ground. “But uhm… the problem… is… that… I love this other guy. Oh fuck.” Kirishima chose the wrong day to wear his skinny jeans. Dynamight had slowly stood up and had turned to the side about to walk around him. Kirishima watched her ass bounce with every step she took. “However, uhm… I doubt he would ever return my feelings so… I... I…” her arms hung on his shoulders and he felt her breath on his neck. He could smell the same sugary perfume as last time. “I think I also have a crush on you…” Kirishima finally snapped back to reality and remembered why he was here. “I don’t know whether I should try for the guy or if maybe… we could go out on a few dates?”

Dynamight stilled her movements. “Well, what do you want from me?”

“Your thoughts?” Kirishima turned his head to look at her.

She huffed out a laugh, “I’m not your fucking therapist.”

Kirishima turned his head to look her in the eyes, “Please,” he begged.

Dynamight looked up and saw her boss gone. She removed her arms and took a chair to sit beside Kirishima. “Well, as much as I think you’re cute,”

Kirishima looked up, beaming, “You think I’m cute?”

“Don’t interrupt me.” she gave him a stern look. “As much as I think you’re cute, I think you should,” Dynamight paused. “You should go for the guy you’re in love with. You said it yourself: you’re in love with him. You only have a small crush on me.”

Kirishima sighed. “But in class the other day I was thinking about how good you smelled, that can’t be just a small crush. What if he doesn’t even like me back? What if he hates me forever?”

“Then he doesn’t deserve you,” Dynamight stated plain as day. “If he thinks your friendship is too weak to stand unrequited romantic feelings than he’s stupid and immature.”

“We’ve been friends since the beginning of high school and we’ve built a certain dynamic. What if that’s ruined?” Dynamight stilled for a moment lost in thought.

“If you don’t want to take my advice then don’t,” she looked to the crowd of people. “I’m not the one losing money.”

Kirishima thought about what she said. Would Bakugo letting me have a crush on him ruin our friendship? Of course not. But would he? No, he wouldn’t. On the outside he’s tough and crass but I know him. I know him. He values our friendship. He wouldn’t let love destroy it. He’s too competitive to let feelings get in the way of his life. Kirishima straightened his back. “Okay.”

“‘Okay what?” Dynamight looked back to him.

“Okay I’m going to take your advice,” Kirishima took a long breath. “I’m going to tell him I love him and no matter what he does I’m going to make sure our friendship lasts.”

Dynamight smiled at him. “Good. Now never come back here again. Don’t want me distracting you from your lover boy.” She stood up and was about to leave Kirishima before he spoke up.

“Actually, my friend over there,” he pointed to Kaminari currently grinding on a person, “he and I wanted to come here next weekend. With him. I was thinking I could tell him here and then introduce him to the person who helped me realize my feelings,” Kirishima gave her a small smile.

Dynamight was frozen. She stood rooted to the spot unblinking. “My shift is almost over. I have to go take my makeup off.”

“Wait-”

“It was nice to meet you, Kirishima,” With his name, Dynamight quickly turned and disappeared into the crowd.

Kaminari’s babbling kept Kirishima’s mind occupied the whole walk home.

“Dude I literally made out with her for almost an hour!” Kaminari shouted. “Think I felt a dick in her skirt but I don’t even care! I would have kept going and probably brought her home if you poopy brains didn’t drag me home.” He whined.

Kirishima and Sero laughed at Kaminari’s antics.

“Just like Bakugo said, you don’t even know if you made out with a man or a woman.” Kirishima chuckled.

“Oh they were a man,” Sero stated plainly.

Kaminari stopped dead in his tracks. “Pardon?” Kirishima stopped walking as well and looked to Sero confused.

“What you guys didn’t know?” He asked like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

“Obviously not!” Kaminari cried out. “Why else would I have kept going on about ‘a girl’ and shit!”

“And I thought I was dumb,” Sero rubbed his forehead. “The place is called Light Sabers ? You know? Whoosh whoosh? What they put over dicks in spicy cartoons?” he waved his fingers around like a conductor in miniature. “The workers there are drag queens. It’s a drag club.”

Kirishima and Kaminari stood still as trees in the middle of the sidewalk and with dumb looks on their faces. Silence.

Kirishima was the first to speak up. “That would explain the voice… and the muscles.”

“Shit bro. I’ve been saying ‘she’ this whole time! Have I been misgendering someone?” Kaminari put his head in his hands. “I’m such a horrible person gah!”

Sero pulled Kaminari into a hug. “Shhh it's okay buddy. You didn’t know. Also many queens use she/her while in drag and you only knew that persona.”

“I’m not a bad person right Kiri?” Kaminari gave Kirishima his puppy eyes.

Kirishima smiled. “Of course not you big baby! Everyone loves you okay? I don’t ever want to see you calling yourself a bad person ever again!” He joined Sero and Kaminari’s hug.

“Wait.”

“What is it Kiri?” Kaminari asked.

“We invited Bakugo next weekend. Maybe we should go somewhere else?” Kirishima asked.

“Yeah but we told him about Uraraka and Midoriya though,” Kaminari answered. “So changing it would be a little weird because then he might ask about them.”

“Didn’t know you had brain cells Kaminari,” Sero ruffled his hair. “Might be fun to see how long it takes Bakugo to figure out it's a drag club.”

“Guess we’re going to be coming back then!”

xXx

The sun was setting as Kirishima walked back to his and Kaminari’s apartment. He was swinging a bag of groceries and humming the tune of One Direction’s Happily . It was one of the three One Direction songs that Bakugo could stand (the other’s being She’s not Afraid and Diana ).

I don’t care what people say when we’re together ,” Kirishima belted in broken english as he danced up the stairs. “ You know I wanna be the one to hold to you in your slee—- what the fuck?” Kirishima had opened the door to the apartment only to find Kaminari seated on top of someone naked. He had his head thrown back and was letting out an obscene moan. Kirishima immediately dropped the grocery bag and bolted out the door. He ran down the stairs and burst out the building doors. “Fuck me,” Kirishima panted.

“If you say so.”

Kirishima almost had a heart attack.

“Got sexiled by my roommate again,” Bakugo explained nonchalantly. He was leaning against a banister looking effortlessly attractive.

Kirshima stood up straight and looked Bakugo straight in the eyes. “I am so sorry I never took your roommate’s sexual escapades seriously,” he lunged forward and hugged Bakugo. “I’m so sorry for what you have to go through.”

Bakugo stiffed at the contact but awkwardly moved his arms around Kirishima in an attempt to hug him back. “Huh? You okay man?”

Kirishima let go of his best friend. “Kaminari. The… the the the person he met the other night. Couch. Kiss. Naked. Moan. Gah! I basically teleported out of that building.”

Bakugo let out a hearty laugh. “Ha! Now you know why I’m always here.”

“Come over whenever you want, unless Kaminari’s having sex, then don’t.” Kirishima loved watching Bakugo laugh.

“Well, we’re both fucked. What do ya wanna do?” Bakugo asked.

Kirishima thought for a moment. “Wanna get cheap ramen and have a crappy picnic in the park nearby?”

“Sounds good with me shitty hair. But I’m buying.”

Kirishima laughed. “My hero! You’re so manly Bakubro.”

xXx

Kirishima laid down in the grass holding his cup noodles above his heart. Bakugo sure was enjoying his 100 yen ramen if his slurping noises were anything to go by. At the moment, the noodles were too hot for Kirishima despite his rock hard nature. He’s so manly , Kirishima thought. Able to do anything he wants like eat boiling hot ramen right away. Man I’m starving but I’d burn my insides. Kirishima sighed as he sat up and started to blow on his noodles to cool them quicker.

Bakugo and Kirishima were loud boisterous people but they also enjoyed peace and quiet. During their high school days, they would sometimes just sit in each others’ rooms for hours in comfortable silence.

That’s what Kirishima thought the night was gonna be. Silent. But surprisingly Bakugo started conversation.

“So Kaminari’s girlfriend?” he asked through a mouthful of noodles.

Kirishima stopped blowing. He didn’t want to reveal that they’d been going to a drag club. “They’re not labeling things yet I don’t think,” Bakugo nodded. “Anyways, I was coming home from the supermarket all ready to make him and his… person, a nice dinner. He wanted to introduce me.”

Bakugo laughed. “Pikachu got carried away huh? The horny motherfucker.”

Kirishima laughed as well. He took his first bite of noodles. They were good.

“Hey Bakugo?”

“Hm?”

Kirishima took another bite of ramen and straightened his back. “Have… have you ever liked someone?”

“No.”

“I’m talking romantically,” Kirishima tried to explain.

“Don’t really like people,” Bakugo stated like it was the most obvious thing. Maybe it was. He finished his noodles and started to drink the broth.

“You like me don’t you?” asked Kirishima.

Bakugo’s face softened slightly. “You’re the one stupid exception shitty hair. You wouldn’t fucking leave me alone.”

Kirishima beamed. “But like you’ve never liked anyone else? Ever?” Bakugo’s expression hardened as he shrugged and looked away.

“I already told you dumbass, I don’t like people. I can’t fucking stand the idea of,” he thought for a moment, “dating and other shit.”

Kirishima took another bite as he watched his friend closely. He knew Bakugo long enough to know when he wasn’t telling the truth. It took four years but he finally learned to watch Bakugo’s mouth. Depending on how it tensed when he talked, Kirishima could tell if Bakugo was telling the truth.

“That’s an interesting reason, bro,” he leant closer to his friend and placed some of his noodles in Bakugo’s empty cup. “Now tell me the real reason.”

Bakugo tensed as he reached for his newly filled cup. “I-I…” he inhaled and ate all of the noodles Kirishima gave him in one bite. As Bakugo chewed, Kirishima could see his brows knitting together, obviously frustrated that Kirishima could read him so well to know that he lied. “No one wants to get to know me. I don’t want to get to know other people. I despise change,” he paused. “I’m afraid of fa… I’m afraid of getting hurt.”

Kirishima barely made out his words. Bakugo set the empty cup down and hugged his knees to his chest. Kirishima knew he only did that when he felt extremely vulnerable. The red head set his cup down next to Bakugo’s and scooched closer to the other boy. He wrapped his arms around him and held him close. He didn’t know if he was crossing a line but he felt that Bakugo needed someone. He needed to know that Kirishima was here for him. That Kirishima cared for him. Kirishima liked him. Kirishima loved him.

xXx

“This place?” Bakugo looked up at the neon sign flashing Light Sabers with a disgruntled look on his face.

“Don’t worry about it,” Kaminari slapped his back and walked through the doors tailed by Sero and then Kirishima. Bakugo bit his lip and hesitantly followed the three boys.

Once inside they went to the bar to say hi to Uraraka and Midoriya. Kaminari, Sero, and Kirishima were sure it would be a little awkward for Bakugo to see the two after such a long time but they liked the idea of a reunion.

“Shirley temple please! Extra cherries!” Kaminari yelled at Uraraka who smiled and nodded in response.

“Oi Deku! The usual!” Bakugo told the boy behind the bar.

“What do you mean ‘the usual?’” Kirishima asked him.

Bakugo froze for a moment. “I- he- we’ve gone to bars together and he knows what I usually get,” he stammered. Kirishima raised an eyebrow at that but didn’t pry any further. He knew the two had a rocky relationship and didn’t want to stir anything up.

Kaminari set his glass down and whooped. “I’m going to go find my man now bye hoes~!” and with that he ran into the crowd.

Kirishima and Sero facepalmed. Bakugo tipped back his shot with practiced ease.

“Hey there Bakubuddy!” a tall, scratch that, average height man with 12 centimeter gelled blond hair placed an arm around Bakugo. “Didn’t know you came here on days off!” The man was extremely loud and wearing sunglasses despite there being practically no light.

Kirishima turned to the two and recognized the blond man as Dynamight’s boss. “I forgot you worked here bro.”

“As a waiter!” Bakugo growled and gave the man a dangerous look.

“Ah yes, this place is such a fine establishment to have waiters!” the man turned to Kirishima and gave him a wide smile. “Name’s Mic! Nice to finally meet a friend of Bakubuddy’s!” Mic held out his hand.

“Kirishima,” he shook Mic’s hand.

“Well I gotta go amplify! I’ll see you around!” He turned to Bakugo. “Don’t kill anyone little listener!” Mic pat Bakugo’s head and left with a flourish.

“Fucking bastard,” Bakugo whispered.

“Well…” Kirishima started. “He seems… interesting.”

“He’s a damn idiot, that’s what he is.”

A pause.

“So Bakubuddy,”

“Never say that again.”

Kirishima rolled his eyes, “Did I tell you I met this girl here?” he asked.

“Tch.”

“Well, I wanted to introduce you to her! She made me realize some things about myself and I think you two would get along. You both have explosive personalities,” Kirishima laughed. “I think I’m going to try to go find her,” he declared.

Bakugo turned back to the bar. “You do that.” With Bakugo’s approval Kirishima headed off into the crowd of people to search for Dynamight.

“Are you ever going to tell him?” Midoriya asked.

“Tell him what?” Bakugo growled.

“That you love him.”

Bakugo sat up in surprise. He didn’t expect that from Midoriya. “No one asked you Deku.” He looked away knowing full well he technically did ask.

“Sorry. I just… I think he’s really confused right now. And your dual persona is just making this more complicated than it needs to be,” Midoriya explained.

Bakugo huffed and turned around to watch Kirishima weave through the crowd looking for a person he wouldn’t find.

xXx

Kirishima knew it might take some time to find Dynamight. After all, it took him almost 10 minutes last time and he didn’t know what outfit or makeup she’d be wearing tonight. However, it was nearing 20 minutes and Kirishima had lost all hope of seeing her tonight. I guess him? Now that I know the women here are actually men… but also Sero said she/her when in drag so I guess her? I still can’t find them. Should I give up? Maybe I should ask someone. Yeah I’ll ask someone. I don’t know anyone though. Wait I could ask the person Kaminari is with! Kirishima stopped looking for one blond and started looking for another. He spotted his electric friend pretty easily and sped walked over to where he was making out with someone.

“Hey Kaminari!” Kirishima yelled.

His friend looked up and pouted. “Why’d you interrupt us?”

“Can I ask you something actually?” Kirishima gestured to the person with Kaminari.

“Talia Mann,” they said. “Real name’s Ojiro. Nice to meet you, though I guess I did see the other night,” they laughed and untangled themselves from Kaminari and held out a hand to Kirishima who took it.

“I was wondering, do you know a Dynamight?”

xXx

Bakugo watched as Kirishima talked with Kaminari and his partner. He knew Talia/Ojiro was nice. They wouldn’t expose him. However, Bakugo’s face paled when they looked him straight in the eyes. Bakugo stared back as they started to point in his direction. He quickly slipped off the bar stool and ran to the bathroom.

Bakugo kicked the door open and exhaled loudly. Why am such a fucking coward? Why can’t I face him? Argh! He kicked the wall and pulled at his hair. I know he loves me! And I love him back! But I just… I just can’t face him. Why? Why why why why why!? He placed his hands on the sink and looked at himself in the mirror. He looked like shit. Ever since last week when Bakugo found out he was the person Kirishima loved he couldn’t sleep. Every night was plagued by nightmares of their friendship failing. He loved Kirishima and had gotten used to their friendship. Suddenly changing everything scared the shit out of Bakugo. What if it failed? What if they fought too much? What if they broke up? What if they never spoke again? He couldn’t bear to lose Kirishima.

The door suddenly opened, breaking Bakugo out of his trance.

“Oh! There you are bro!” Kirishima said cheerfully. “I couldn’t find them,” He sighed. “Talia said they weren’t working tonight but they were here. They thought they knew where they were but I guess not. I even asked the boss but he said he couldn’t disclose information about his workers,” he explained. “Hey you okay?” Bakugo didn’t answer him, instead choosing to stare down at the blood splatters on the floor. “Bakugo? Bakugo!”

“Huh? Oh,” Bakugo looked up at Kirishima.

“You good? You look like hell.”

Bakugo let out a dry laugh. Kirishima truly cared for him. “I’m fine. Just... thinking.”

Kirishima hopped up on the sink counter. “Whatcha thinkin about?”

Bakugo stared at him. “You know those counters are probably gross as shit. I mean it’s been two weeks and they still haven’t cleaned your blood off the floor.”

Kirishima laughed. “Yeah there’s probably been all sorts of bodily fluids on this counter but that’s why laundry exists, right?” Bakugo looked unimpressed. That’s when Kirishima realized something. “Wait,” a pause. “I never told you I was bleeding that night two weeks ago.”

Bakugo’s face went slack. Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck!

“And neither did Kaminari. How did you-?” Kirishima hopped off the counter and got closer to Bakugo. He studied his friend more closely. Upon further inspection Kirishima noticed a faint tint of red on Bakugo’s bottom lip line and a light air of sugary perfume he’d smelled once before. “Did Dynamight tell you? Do you know Dynamight? Are you d...”

Bakugo closed his eyes and braced for Kirishima’s explosion.

“Are you dating Dynamight?!”

Bakugo snapped his eyes open flabbergasted.

“Oh my god I made out with your girlfriend!” Kirishima buried his head in his hands. “I guess boyfriend actually. I didn’t even know you were gay! I can’t believe I just outed you! Oh my god! That’s so not manly of me! I’m so sorry! I can’t believe myself! I’m so dumb!”

Bakugo couldn’t stop staring at his imbecile of a crush.

“Can you ever forgive me? I’m so sorry! I didn’t know I really didn’t know I’m so sor-”

Bakugo cut him off by yanking Kirishima’s shirt and kissing him. Kirishima made a squeak of surprise as Bakugo quickly let go and pulled away.

“I… you… we… huh?” Kirishima couldn’t speak. It’s not everyday that you crush on a drag queen and think the man you love is dating them only to find out they were the same person.

“Sorry,” Bakugo pursed his lips and tried to awkwardly smooth Kirishima’s shirt where he had grabbed it so forcefully. “But I couldn’t figure out a way to shut you up and tell you the truth.”

“You… you’re…” Kirishima’s brain was broken.

Bakugo shrugged. “I’m Dynamight. Surprise,” he looked away mentally preparing himself for Kirishima to go bat shit crazy. He waited for what seemed like forever.

Eventually, Kirishima roughly handled Bakugo’s face toward him and kissed him much like the first night. Bakugo widened his eyes in surprise but quickly closed them and kissed his friend (lover?) back. Immediately they both opened their mouths and entangled their tongues. Kirishima pushed Bakugo against the counter and moved his hands to his waist. He could feel the blond shiver as he ran his fingertips up and down his sides. Bakugo let out a whine and placed his arms on Kirishima’s shoulders and ran a hand through the overly gelled red hair.

Kirishima pulled back for a moment and inhaled deeply. “Fuck. Why didn’t you say anything?”

Bakugo looked down at the space between them and thought for a moment. “I didn’t want you to hate me,” he said quietly.

Kirishima wrapped his arms around him and closed the gap between them, hugging Bakugo as tightly as possible. “Nothing you do or say could ever make me hate you.”

Bakugo buried his head into Kirishima’s shoulder and let a few tears fall. He’d had a roller coaster of emotions for the past week and it felt good to let everything out. “Fucking shitty hair. I’m sorry.”

Kirishima pulled back. “Don’t say you’re sorry. It’s my fault. I’m too dumb to notice you in makeup and different clothes,” he laughed.

“I love you.”

Kirishima gently caressed Bakugo’s cheeks to wipe off his tears. He kissed him gently. “I love you too.”

I love you I love you I love I love I love you, Eijirou. ” Bakugo quietly sang.

Kirishima let out a small laugh. “Did you just make a One Direction reference?”

Bakugo blushed, pulled Kirishima close, and hid his face in his shitty hair. His “maybe” was muffled by all the gel.

I live for you. ”

A kiss.

I long for you.”

Another kiss.

“Katsuki.”
