My Favorite Christmas Tradition is Werewolves

Chapter 1: Werewolves

Summary:

Garou's teacher assigns a seemingly innocuous essay about Christmas traditions.
Garou takes it in an unexpected direction. (Well, maybe not for him).
...Basically, 10 year-old Garou is vibing on a completely different level than most of his peers, and this is why we love him.

Chapter Text

There are many Christmas monsters.

Werewolves are the best.

They should deliver presents instead of Santa.

More werewolves could even pull the sleigh. Werewolves are stronger and better than reindeer.

Also, werewolves could protect the Christmas presents. It is too easy to steal stuff from elves. Elves and werewolves are a good team.

Finally, werewolves don’t like cookies. Good! More cookies for me.

People don’t like werewolves.

This is unfair. It is a medical condition.

Being a werewolf is useful sometimes.

Winter gets very cold. Imagine if no electricity had been invented yet.

Wouldn’t you rather be a werewolf, too?

Notes:

According to legend, werewolves are most prevalent around Christmastime.
I was recently reminded of this, and it has irrevocably changed my Garou head-canon.
1.) I like to imagine that Garou is a fierce advocate for Christmas Werewolves, he brings it up constantly starting in December, he's done this ever since he was a kid.
2.) Also in my head-canon: Garou's birthday is around Christmas. Some traditions hold that kids born around this time of year become werewolves, because they had the audacity to be born during the Advent. (This seems pretty unfair.)
3.) Partly inspired by this episode of the Weird Christmas Podcast, which I encountered by way of Apocrypals
4.) And also this story by Angela Carter, which is one of my favorites.
