Chapter Text
Tree branches whipped at her skin and brambles tore at her sheer lace nightgown, leaving stinging scratches in their wake but she ignored the sharp pulls as her heart raced with exertion as she sped through the forest keeping her wings tucked close to her back in an effort to make herself hidden. Yet she could still feel him. She could feel his darkness oozing across the earth, searching and searching for her and her heart stuttered as she remembered the stories of what happened when a Demon caught a Goddess. When a tendril of darkness shot out from behind a bush she quickly slapped it away, calling light to her fingertips to destroy the darkness and she pushed on further, faster. He would not catch her like this.
As she leapt over a fallen tree only to immediately slide under a very low branch, Elizabeth then had to roll to the side to dodge another sliver of darkness and a low curse left her mouth. She knew from all her forbidden reading as a teenager in the Goddess clan that the blood moons triggered mating seasons for Demons, and today of all fucking days she decided to go change her mind on letting her cat out for the night. Escanor would have been fine, Elizabeth thought with a huff, he was a fucking cat but she on the other hand was now being hunted by a Demon and one at a high level too. With a short grimace she recognised the clearing she was approaching, and Elizabeth grounded herself emotionally, rooting her soul in the vast oceans of power that resided inside her. She was the leader of the Goddess clan, she would not be taken lightly.
Fluffing out her wings and taking to the air, Elizabeth waited, hovering over the surface of the lake, her 4 sets of wings fluttering on the breeze with soft sweeps that disturbed the surface of the water as her eyes roved around the treeline and down the face of the mountain that walled it in. The area was beautiful she could admit that, the sound of the rushing waterfall calming to her ears but then her attention was pulled elsewhere as she felt the vast dark power that sucked her attention draw ever closer.
“So sweet,” The voice of the demon growled across the clearing and Elizabeth tensed, ready and then she spotted him, strolling through the trees on a path parallel to the one she had taken as if the world waited for him. His blonde hair was an unruly mop on his head, sticking out in all directions but still not hiding the demon mark that graced his forehead. It was a sharp dark mark bleeding across his skin and forming a circle with several spikes bursting from it with a few spiky tendrils crossing over his right eye. He was swathed in darkness, the tendrils giving him a high collared waistcoat, black trousers and clawed feet but still leaving some of that hard flesh exposed. Her eyes lingered here as if noting the weakness and the darkness shifted peeling back slightly to expose more of his flesh as if taunting her. She knew this Demon, she frequently negotiated with him and she knew him to be stubborn and determined, especially when it came to getting what he wanted. Her night just grew ten time harder.
“Demon King Meliodas,” Elizabeth uttered, her chin raised as she looked down on the haughty man.
“Supreme Deity Elizabeth,” The demon responded, his voice human and restrained and Elizabeth glared at him.
“You know good and well I refuse that title,” Elizabeth quipped, crossing her arms over her chest, then abandoning the movement when the demon leered at the ample cleavage she was showing through the gap in the sheer nightdress she usually wore to sleep in. Meliodas only grinned at her lecherously and she glared back at him. “So do you want to explain what you think you’re doing chasing me through the forest?” Elizabeth asked sharply, her eyes following the Demon king as ink black wings sprouted from his back and he glided up to hover eye level with her across the clearing. The demon smirked at her at her question seeming to take his time to formulate an answer, his tongue wetting his lower lip as his eyes fixed on her chest and their movement as she used her wings to keep herself airborne.
“Your highness what night is it?” The demon eventually asked softly, and she rolled her eyes, the blood moon would be upon them in a short hour, but she kept calm.
“The night of the blood moon,” Elizabeth answered shortly and Meliodas’ smirk twisted into a full-blown salacious grin opposite her.
“And what occurs on the night of the blood moon?” Meliodas asked softly, his voice a low purr as his eyes continued to dance lecherously over her form. Elizabeth growled under her breath as she felt his eyes undressing her before she made the snap decision to allow her light to burst forth similar to his and coat her form, hiding her breasts and snaking down to protect her core but the demon opposite her grinned at her enjoying her discomfort.
“You demons seem fit to behave like a pack of dogs and couple all over the country,” Elizabeth said primly and Meliodas grinned wider, his sharp canines becoming more evident in his mouth.
“Couple? My dear Goddess… I thought you had an heir?” Meliodas chuckled as he floated closer. Tensing her fists Elizabeth waited with gritted teeth, ready for his attack.
Demons and Goddesses had enjoyed 1000 years of peace under their rule, despite how often the Demon king liked to push the Goddess Queen.
“What’s your point Demon?” Elizabeth growled and Meliodas snickered to himself as he came even closer to her until his breath was able to ghost across her skin and although she knew she should move Elizabeth was frozen, trapped in the natural magnetism that came with his power of darkness, her opposite.
“Demons don’t couple my dear sweet Goddess” Meliodas breathed into her left ear before he circled around her to her right and leant close. “We fuck.”
“Well then allow me to leave you to find a suitable demon to fuck like a dog in heat,” Elizabeth snarled quietly, but her voice was without heat as she tried to convince her body to move. Meliodas laughed at her words, moving around to face her again.
“Oh, there’s no need for that. I’ve already found my mate… I’ll chase her all over the fucking country if I have to then best her in a battle for dominance…” He paused to let his words sink in and Elizabeth felt a shiver run from the top of her head to her toes and she raised an eyebrow at him as she tried to ignore the heat that was pooling in her stomach
“And then what?” Her voice was too breathy, too out of control, too much not like the queen she was and she wanted to slap herself but she was frozen in his presence
“Welllll… I’m going to fuck you until you scream loud enough to wake our parents from their restful slumbers,” Meliodas finished, his voice rough with his demon soul as his tongue ghosted over an old scar in the juncture of her neck and shoulder and then his words registered in her brain and she forced herself into movement, flying back several metres to put some space between them, even as she felt herself grow slick at his words.
“Would you like a head start? I will start to hunt you at the beginning of the blood moon,” Meliodas grinned, his black eyes amused as an arrogant smirk crossed his face.
“No demons left that will have you then your highness?” Elizabeth quipped, trying to gain back her footing. Meliodas only snickered and turned his back to her watching the moon in the sky.
“Demons are attracted to power. You’re the only one who can match me,” Meliodas uttered as the moon started to shift into place and Elizabeth knew she had seconds left if she was going to run again, but she refused, she’d already flown the length of Britannia and back avoiding him. He wasn’t going to chase her anymore, he was going to fight and fuck her if she didn’t stand her ground. Quietly they both watched the moon slide into place and when it did, casting a red glow over the kingdom, Meliodas the Demon King turned to face her, tendrils of his darkness snaking out around him as he smirked at her with canines that had lengthened as he gave his Demon more control.
“You should have run Goddess.” Meliodas stated simply, then he shot forward.
