There’s a knock at the door and Jay looks up as the door opens.
“Mrs. Genketsu, what brings you here?” He tilts his head to the side as she pulls out a chair in front of his desk
“Hello Jay, I came here to talk about your performance the other day during your fight with the League of Villains” she taps his desk and the papers begin organizing themselves.
“Alright, what do we need to talk about” He sighs a bit seeing his mess get cleaned up.
It was organized chaos not a cluttered mess- Genketsu pulls him from his thoughts when she starts speaking.
“We need to discuss your quirk usage. You fought primarily against the villain known as Kaizoku, correct?” He nods his head in response to her question twirling a pen between his fingers.
“Good and it seems that she has some sort of fire quirk from the footage and you used your Flaming Wings against her”
“That would be correct”
“Well from the footage we can see that your feathers still burn up after half a minute or slightly longer-”
“Genketsu-san, my feathers are fire-resistant not fireproof , I can't control when they burn up,” He interrupts.
“Then get quicker Jay, you can't let this deter you especially against the new villains popping up recently. Improve or we’ll put you into extra training,” She hums.
“Is there anything else?” he asks
“You also need to bring up your other performance stats” Genketsu looks over a sheet of paper on her clipboard tapping it with a pen “You just aren’t fast enough”
“Right well I have been improving. My schedule has just been booked since it’s the holidays-”
“Jay I don’t care, improvement is vital if you are get ranked higher up,” She cuts him off. He grimaces
“I know”
“Then work on it,” she gets up to leave, “I’ll see you later tonight,” she leaves the door closing with a thud. Jay sighs
This will be a long night

“Jay! How are you!” Frost runs up and hugs him.
“I’m good- how are you, Frost?-” He wiggles in her tight grip.
“Oh cmon you know you can call me Kouto,” she grins and drags him to their friends.
“Hey, guys look who finally showed up!”
“I’m not that late-” Jay huffs “I just got off patrol” He takes the drink that is handed to him by Shadow.
“I thought you were supposed to be fast” Shadow snorts and takes a sip from their drink.
“I am fast you jerk” Jay grins “But I was actually on patrol and I had to drop these guys off at the police department,” He shrugs
“Man you are such a workaholic I don’t know how you do it-” Bubblegum hums, “Like I get enjoying the hero work but seriously it seems like you never have time off” She sips her drink.
“I have plenty of time off, I just like sleeping-” Jay gets cut off by Deku clearing his throat on the stage.
“Hello, Guys!” Jay tunes out Deku’s speech and goes to find himself another drink.
Social events are awful. Probably the worst part about being a public figure.
He gets pulled from his thoughts when his phone starts buzzing from his coat.
“Hello?” He answers.
“Jay we need you in the office right now,” Genketsu responds
“But the party-”
“We need you here now,” she cuts him off “get here as soon as you can,” She hangs up after saying that. Jay sighs and leaves through the back door taking off to get to his hero agency.

He flies in the window of his office and hurries to the president’s room knocking before he enters.
“Ah, Jay you made it,” She looks up from her papers and gestures for him to sit down next to Genketsu. “We have a new big assignment for you.”
“What would that be?” he tilts his head to the side.
“We’ve finally confirmed that the League of Villains has regrouped and is starting to become more active,” she hums and shuffles a few papers together on her desk. “We need to defeat them for real this time, and you will be doing that,” she stares down at him.
The League of Villains?- What the hell? I thought they were gone-
“Jay- do you understand?” The president looks at him.
“Sorry I didn’t get that-” he shakes his head to clear his thoughts.
“I asked if you were ready to take on this mission. It will require a lot and it is a solo mission,” She sighs.
“‘Course I can do it,” Jay grins and takes the folder that is handed to him.
“Good, you are dismissed” she motions for Jay and Genketsu to leave. They both get up and leave. Genketsu sighs and turns to Jay.
“Go home and get some sleep, kid” she smiles softly. A rare moment for the usually hardened woman.
“Will do. I’ll see you tomorrow Genketsu-san” he smiles and waves before heading home.

The door opens as he enters his small apartment the door shutting loudly behind him. He sighs and sets his things down on his coffee table and showers. After he showers and eats he starts looking over the file.
I thought the league was defeated years ago, this is weird.
He looks through the documents reading over each of the villains’ profiles. There was one entry that surprised him though.
Hawks? What the hell is he doing here-
He reads over his file
“Hawks was last seen in the raid saving Bubaigawara Jin. He has not been seen since. However, there have been sightings of a man with red wings after this incident.” He flips the page and keeps reading
Fierce Wings huh...
