Mandalore the First (Te Sol'yc Mand'alor )
The first known Mand’alor
After years of war with the Zhell species (presumed to be a precursor to the Human species) on the planet Coruscant (formerly known as Notron ), the Taung species were driven off-world. Long after the Zhell -Taung War (Sol’yc Akaan ), the Taung eventually settled on the planet of Roon for a time. Later, they moved to a different planet uninhabited by intelligent life. There, the Taung hunted the fierce Mythosaur species to extinction.
The Taung’s leader renamed himself Mandalore (Mand’alor) and the planet as Mandalore (Manda’yaim). His people thereafter called themselves Mandalorians (Mando’ade). The original Taung species would be remembered in Mandalorian history as the Shadow Warriors (Dha Werda Verda), or the Progenitors.

A notable leader of the Mandalorian Crusaders
Following under each successive Mandalore after Mandalore the First, the Mandalorian people carried out several conquests on other worlds. Many native species on these worlds were typically subjugated and forced to follow Mandalorian culture or wiped out in the Mandalorian Crusaders’ quest to appease their religious deities. For example, the intelligent insectoid Nevoota species was killed off during the Crusaders’ Nevoota Extinction (Nevoota Ori’kyrase). The Crusaders also commandeered the Basiliskan race’s invention of the Basilisk War Droid (Bes'uliik) for further conquests.
The Mandalorian god Kad Ha'rangir was believed to favor warfare because conflict would bring improvement and prestige to the participants. However, over time, the Mandalorians began worshiping war itself. Honor would be earned throughout the later stages of the Mandalorian Crusades (Mando Ha'rangir) exclusively by their own skill and merit, not by deities watching over them.
Mandalore the Indomitable (Te Kandosii Mand'alor)

After engaging the Sith Lord Ulic Qel-Droma in single combat, Mandalore the Indomitable was defeated. Mandalore and his people subsequently joined Qel-Droma and his forces in a campaign against the Galactic Republic (Munit Katra’tsad ).
Thousands of years after their departure from their original home world, the Mandalorians returned to Coruscant while participating in an invasion of the planet. Mandalore the Indomitable cooperated with Aleema Keto of the Krath and Qel-Droma to assault Galactic City. However, Keto deceived the Indomitable to have their forces retreat , leaving Qel-Droma behind . Qel-Droma was apprehended by the Jedi. Keto had sought power for herself, attempting to gain Mandalore’s support after Qel- Droma’s abandonment , but Mandalore the Indomitable had steadfastly pledged loyalty to Qel-Droma and so refused to join Keto.
Mandalore secretly informed Qel-Droma's Sith Master Exar Kun of what had transpired on Coruscant. Exar Kun and Mandalore then infiltrated Coruscant and rescued Kun’s apprentice. After learning of Keto’s betrayal from Mandalore, Qel-Droma sent her on a campaign against the Kemplex IX space station.This mission ultimately would lead to her death. Afterward, Mandalore and his Sith masters went on to prepare for an assault on Onderon .
During the Battle of Onderon, Republic reinforcements assisting the Onderonian Beast Riders forced the Crusaders to retreat. They fell back to the moon of Dxun. Unfortunately for the Indomitable, he became separated from his allies and was overcome by the beasts roaming Dxun’s jungles.
