Chapter Text
“ ...And don’t forget to read pages 64 and 65 in your textbook. I know it’s boring but you are all paying to be here, so don’t forget to do your homework.” The professor looked around the room making eye contact with everyone, but his eyes remained fixated a little longer on Doppio as if to give him a knowing warning.
Doppio sighed and put his notebook in his bag. College was proving to be a challenge for him. He was approaching his senior year and the workload had become increasingly difficult. Doppio paid attention in class and he took plenty of notes, sure, but he happened to be one of the most unlucky people on the planet Earth. Every time he would attempt to take an online test, his power would cut short during the middle of it. On his walk to class, he would catch himself in an unexpected storm, drenching his backpack, and uncoincidentally his homework. Sometimes he would find himself locked out of his dorm after forgetting his keycard. His roommate would sleep at ungodly hours of the day and could apparently sleep through any amount of loud banging and kicking that Doppio did at the door.
As doppio was about to leave the classroom he heard an exasperated sigh from his professor.
Professor Gyro rubbed his temples and looked up from his notes, his glasses resting low on his slender nose. “Doppio, could I please see you for a moment?”.
Doppio gulped in anticipation. He could feel his cheeks run red with embarrassment as he approached the desk at the front of the lecture hall.
“L-look, I know I haven't been doing that well but- I’m trying I promise!”
Gyro leaned back in his chair and gave Doppio a pitying look. Doppio knew he was one of Gyro’s favorite students. He was always so well behaved and never caused any trouble, unlike the other kids in the class, like Narancia. However; he knew no matter how much Gyro liked him, his grades were plummitting.
“Doppio...I thought you were supposed to be Italian,
so can you please explain to me how you’re failing an Italian class?”
Gyro looked baffled, Doppio shifted uncomfortably in place, somehow feeling even more embarrassed than before.
“Look, I know, I know! It’s just been really rough lately I - “
Gyro took his glasses off and made direct eye contact with Doppio, making him shiver in place. Gyro opened the drawer on his desk and pulled out a thick stack of papers, the top one having a large red circled F. Doppio couldn’t help but let his eyes wander to the name on the test, and looked to the side in disappointment when he realized that the paper belonged to him.
“Doppio… You failed your paper, you do know what that means for you, don’t you?”
“I…”. Was all Doppio managed to murmur. The red in his cheeks was crawling across his face now, shading it an even deeper red. Oh god, how could he have let this happen? He studied all night for that test and even skipped his previous class to be extra prepared for it.
“This paper was your last chance. It counted for 25 percent of your overall grade. I'm afraid you know what this means don’t you?” Gyro actually had a sad look in his eyes, Doppio could tell that even though the harsh words, he pitied him.
“No, I’ll- I’ll make it up! I can do extra credit. redo some assignments right?!” He was starting to panic now, what was he going to tell his mom. His purebred Italian mom.
Gyro’s eyes darted to the side avoiding Doppio, now feeling uncomfortable with the situation. “You did this to yourself Doppio, there’s no recovering. Your grade was so low that even with the makeup assignments it won’t be enough to let you pass the class. You're going to have to take it again in the summer.”
Doppio felt his heart sink in his chest. Surely this wasn't happening, right? This was all a dream and he was going to wake up any second now in the library after a long night of studying. After a long uncomfortable silence, he knew this was real.
“Right...I see. I’m sorry Professor…” He tried to hide the trembling in his voice but utterly failed. He could feel the pressure in his throat rising, threatening him to cry right then and there.
“I’ll see you in the summer, Doppio.” Gyro sadly nodded toward the door, encouraging him to leave.
Doppio didn’t wait another second he turned around and bolted out the door. His pace quickened as he tried avoiding eye contact with any of his peers in the hall. He could feel the lingering students staring at him, curious about what the professor had said to him to make him have such a reaction.
Soon he found the nearest restroom. He rushed inside and without thinking locked himself in one of the stalls. He cursed silently at himself. He hung his head in shame and cupped his face with his hands. Stupid, stupid, stupid! What was he supposed to do now! He didn’t have the money to take another class, he was barely getting by as it is!
Doppio let out an angry huff and punched the wall of the stall next to him. He hissed and shook his hand the sudden impact in an attempt to relieve the pain. He leaped in surprise as he realized there had been a person in the stall next to him.
“Hey!”
“S...sorry,” Doppio mumbled.
He wasn’t sure what he was going to do, but he couldn't let himself sit there and wallow in self-pity. Suddenly Doppio heard a ding. He dug his pink phone decorated with a frog charm out of his backpack and looked at the notification on the screen.
Mista sent a message. Doppio sighed and swiped to unlock his phone.
Mista: Hey, where are you? Are you skipping out on lunch today?
Ah, typical Mista, he was probably already done with lunch by the way he pigged out so much. He had promised to meet his friends at the college cafeteria. Well, he didn’t ‘promise’ but they all sort of had an unspoken agreement that they would meet for lunch there every day and catch up on the most recent gossip.
Doppio texted back quickly.
Doppio: I’ll be on my way.
Mista: Narancia told me that Professor Gyro asked to see you after class? Got anything special to tell us? ;)))
Doppio felt his face prickle at the sudden accusation. Stupid Mista, him and Narancia were quite the combination.
Doppio: It’s not anything like that, I swear, just save a seat for me, I’ll be there shortly.
Doppio put his phone back in its pocket and zipped his backpack up again. After a long moment of silence, he waited for his stall neighbor to leave the restroom in order to avoid any … confrontation. After he heard the sounds of running water and a door clicking close he left the restroom and headed to the cafeteria.
….
Doppio decided to eat light today, he wasn't really feeling particularly hungry after the news he received. He decided on just getting a brownie from the bakery along with a coffee, he deserved to treat himself, even with the little money he had. He sat down next to Giorno across from Mista, Narancia, and Fugo. Mista, as he had expected, had already finished his lunch and was blabbering away about the most recent news.
“So then I told him, Look, buddy, I’m not that smart, so you can do all the math stuff and I’ll draw the pictures or whatever,” Mista said, making huge dramatic hand gestures while he spoke.
Narancia perked up at this. “What happened after that?”
“Well… We failed. Miserably. I never said I was good at drawing pictures either.” Mista leaned back in his seat and checked his nails nonchalantly.
Narancia was in the middle of eating his mac and cheese before he broke out in a huge laughing fit. He spit the food in his mouth across the table and pounded his fist like it was the funniest joke he had ever heard. Doppio and Giorno looked at each other in a mutual feeling of disgust.
“Please be careful Narancia…” Fugo said quietly as he patted Narancias back, worried about his sudden choking.
“No, no, I’m fine Fugo, oh my god Mista.” Narancia continued to shovel down his food, unphased.
“Well, Mista, that’s unfortunate that you failed your project.” Giorno piped in.
“What? Nah, That asshole deserved it, Pretending to be so smart and all. Mr. ‘too cool to talk to me’. Like, he’s so rude too, won't even take off his hat even if the teacher asks him to.” Mista waved his hand.
“Mista… You don't take off your hat either.” Fugo pointed out, crossing his arms.
“It’s different, mine’s a beanie. It's fashionable and makes me look cool and approachable. His on the other hand…” Mista trailed off
“Yeah, maybe fashionable if you’re balding under there.” Narancia snickered. Mista gave him a dirty look in response.
“My widows peak is not ‘balding!’” Mista huffed. Giorno was quick to change the subject.
“Doppio, you’ve been awfully silent.”
Doppio flinched at the sudden realization that he had been spacing out. “Huh? Oh, sorry, yeah.” He looked down and sipped his coffee bashfully. “I’m just kind of out of it right now I guess.”
Giorno put his hand on Doppios back to reassure him. “It’s fine Doppio, whatever it is you don’t have to tell us.” That was a mistake. Mista and Narancia instantly leaned forward in their seats, ganging up on poor Doppio. “Wait no! I want to know!” Narancia shouted. “Yeah me too! You’ve been acting all pouty this whole time! What’s the gossip!” Mista yelled. Fugo was holding Narancia back by his shoulder.
Doppio instinctively leaned back to get some space and put his hands up in defense. “Look! It’s not as juicy as you guys are making it out to be, I just…” Doppio went silent for a bit before continuing. “I just failed my basic Italian class ok, no big deal.”
“You what?!” Narancia spit. “Dude! I’m in that class! Dude, you're Italian
.” Narancia threw his hands up in the air. “I could have tutored you!” The thought of Narancia out of all people tutoring him was almost laughable.
Fugo gave Doppio a concerned look. Giorno actually had a shocked look on his face, it seems like he couldn’t believe the news either.
“Yeah so anyways…” Doppio interjected. “I’m going to have to take that stupid class again in the summer, you know I really liked Professor Zepelli before, but now, he’s kind of an asshole, wouldn’t even let me do any extra credit or anything.” Doppio pouted.
“Have you tried sucking his dick for extra credit, I see that work a lot in pornos.” Narancia pointed out. In response Fugo smacked the back of Narancia’s head, receiving a small oof from the boy and an agitated head rub.
“W-What?! No of course not! That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard!” Doppio blushed. He had to admit, Gyro was handsome, but not
handsome. He certainly wasn’t his type, sure he enjoyed the long hair, slightly toned build, and sharp facial features, but he wasn’t much into Italians who tried to act like American rednecks.
“Well, he’s not that bad looking, to be honest. I’d do it.” Mista responded. The whole gang looked at him slack-jawed, receiving a particularly nasty look from Giorno and Fugo. “What?” Mista questioned innocently. “But hey Doppio, if that doesn’t work out, you could always quit college and become a stripper or something.”
A stripper? Doppio was pretty sure that almost all college students had thought about that at one point. Rumor has it that strippers made a lot of money, and honestly Doppio was a slut for attention. He was sure that he wouldn’t mind all the eyes watching him. He was particularly fit as well, yeah… He could probably do that.
“Don’t be stupid Mista,” Fugo chimed “Doppio would never do that. He has too much self-respect.”
Doppio didnt bother correcting him and continued to contemplate while he sipped his coffee. Fugo was right, that was a stupid idea, it’s not like he had ever been trained or anything. How would he even know what to do. What kind of strip club would let some twinky college kid with a flat ass and clumsy balance even join?
“Speaking of strippers,” Narancia said, “Who here is going to that party tonight?”
“Which party?” Mista chimed. Looking way to excited.
“Josephs party bro! You know his parties fuck. Theres probably going to be a ton of chicks, bros, and a ton of free booze.” Narancia said amused.
“Oh hell yeah, you know I’m always down for a party, but Joseph always hangs out with that killjoy. What’s his name? Seizure?” Mista asked with a confused look.
“Nah, Ceaser's cool, he lets me cheat off his test in Italian class, pretty sure he’s not afraid to get caught because Mr.Gyro’s his cousin or somthin’.”
“What! You don’t earn your B! You just cheat off Ceasar, and you said you would tutor me?!” Doppio yelled. Narancia just laughed in respnse.
“Well, a party seems nice. It could help you relax a little bit about your situation, Doppio.” Giorno said in a compassionate voice. “Yeah, a party seems nice…” Doppio replied, finishing his last sip of coffee. He knew Giorno would be on board, he never missed out a chance to socialize and be charismatic, not to mention the center of attention. It kind of annoyed Doppio at times.
“Well, you know if you’re going Narancia, I’m going to have to come with you to make sure you stay out of trouble” Fugo responded. “Aw, Fugo, you treat me like a princess.” Narancia batted his eyes at him and gave him a dramatically lovey Dovey look. Fugo just tch’d in response.
The gang continued to banter on about random topics before deciding it was getting late. Giorno and Fugo had to study for their next exam. Narancia and Mista were going to go pre-game before the party. Doppio had politely refused their invitation to join them. Sure he enjoyed their company, but he wouldn’t be caught dead hanging out with them while drunk. He could hardly handle the combo sober. Doppio packed up his belongings, said his goodbyes to the group, and headed back to his dorm.
…
“Ghiaccio! Let me in!” Doppio banged on the door for the fourth time. His key card had accidentally slipped out of his wallet and fallen into a storm drain while he was purchasing some street food on the way back. He really did have the worst luck. Just as Doppio was about to knock for the fifth time the door swung open and his grouchy roommate greeted him.
“What the fuck do you want? You fucking lost your stupid key card again dumbass?” Ghiaccio angrily spat. “Move over asshole, I have to get inside.” Doppio pushed ghiaccio to the side as he entered the room. Doppio dropped his backpack near his bed and felt a presence. Doppio looked up to see a man with long purple hair sitting on top of Ghiaccio’s bed.
“Ciao ~” Melone greeted cheerfully. Doppios face instantly soured. “Oh great,
here.” Melones face dropped at the cold response. “Duh Idiot, he’s my boyfriend, of course he’s going to be here.” Ghiaccio replied. “Oh Doppio? You don’t like me?” Melone pouted, putting his hand on his chest to act offended. Doppio didn't even bother responding, he just rolled his eyes. No, he didn’t like Melone. It was like having a third roommate. Ghiaccio invited him over all the time, it was like the two were inseparable. He was also extremely annoying and bragged constantly, but that wasn’t even the worst part. Melone was a horny slut, and Doppio couldn't even count the number of times he caught the two fucking. It’s like he had no shame.
“Anyways, can you two stop like, fucking or something, I have to get ready for a party tonight, and that means I have to catch up on my beauty sleep.” Doppio stated as a matter of factly. Honestly, Doppio was just feeling a little bit upset after everything that happened today, he wanted to peacefully cry himself to sleep and then get absolutely hammered at the party.
“Don’t worry your highness, we were just about to leave. I’m visiting Melone's parents for the weekend.” Ghiaccio stated sarcastically, grabbing his bag off the wall and gesturing Melone to follow him. “You say that like I care.” Doppio rolled his eyes. Melone jumped off of Ghiaccio’s bed and passed by Doppio, hooking his arm around his waist and spinning him on his feet as he passed. Doppio flinched at the unwelcome gesture of affection. “Bye-bye Doppio! Be a good boy while we’re gone.” Melone blew a kiss in his direction and Ghiaccio angrily grabbed his wrist and pulled him out the door.
Doppio was happy when he heard the door slam shut. Finally, he could get some peace of mind. A whole weekend of peace. It was like the calm after the storm. Doppio plopped down on top of his signature pink bed adorned with purple polka dots. He started to take his shoes off, and then the rest of his outfit until he was stripped down to his boxers. He laid on his bed, enjoying the silence as he scrolled through his latest facebook feed.
He stopped scrolling on a picture of Mista and Narancia, posted a few minutes ago. It was a picture of the two drinking PBRs and headbanging to some music. Doppio was again thankful at his foresight. That was something he had always been good at. He also stopped on Giorno's new post. It read ‘Hey guys! I’m hoping to be able to sneak out tonight to join you at the party, hopefully, my dad doesn't find out.’ accompanying it was a picture of Giorno barely in frame as his fathers looming figure lurked in the background. Doppio chuckled at this and left Giorno a like on the post.
Doppio's phone dinged as he received a notification. He checked the new popup message. It seemed like Joseph allowed his invite, sweet. He barely knew the guy but Giorno probably sweet-talked him into letting his whole friend group come. Joseph loved big loud parties, but Ceasar kept a strict guest list.
Doppio hugged his pillow with excitement and rolled around on the bed before a crushing thought entered his mind. Oh no. He still had to tell his mom that he failed a class. She surely couldn’t afford something like that and would get royally pissed at him. She would probably even pull him out of college for a semester or two just to get a job to pay for the extra class. Ugh, but he didn’t want to think of all that now. Doppio yawned, todays events were proving to be too much for him, all he wanted to do now is drift off into a peaceful slumber. So he tucked himself into bed, set his alarm for 9pm, and rested his eyes, before long he fell asleep.
…
“Turururu, Turururu.”
Doppio sat up in bed and stretched as his alarm annoyingly buzzed. He wiped his eyes groggily before realizing why he set his alarm to begin with. Ah right. The party started in just an hour. Doppio kicked himself to get up and get ready, surely this was going to be a big night, Josephs parties were just wild enough for him to forget today ever happened.
Doppio had decided to dress a bit more...revealing. He had decided on wearing a cropped mesh top, nipples revealed and all. It especially accented his navel piercing, he decided to go with a matte black piercing for the night. It paired well with his hot pink ripped bootyshorts that gave his ass just enough help to look appealing, and lord knows his ass needed all the help it could get. He had decided to let his hair down for the night clipping the bangs back with some glittery hairpins. He liked the outfit that he had picked out, but there was just one thing missing. He grabbed Ghiaccios eyeliner and mascara and carefully applied it. Doppio wasn't one for makeup, but he had to admit that it did wonders for his tired looking eyes. After looking himself over in the mirror he looked absolutely...slutty. But hey, if Doppio could get laid tonight he wouldn’t particularly mind either, he had his eye on that one artsy kid. What was his name, Rohan? Yeah, he liked the bratty entitled type, but he had to admit if they were ever to hookup, it would be a disastrous combination. Rohan didn’t really seem like the party type anyways. He mostly kept to himself while he was in class, that is, when he wasn’t ranting to Jotaro.
Doppio tucked his phone away in his front pocket and headed out the door. He had picked up a spare key card from his room. He knew by now that he was unlucky enough to lose the first one, so he was always prepared and had a second one made just in case. Again, his foresight saved the day. After leaving the dorm he pulled up Joseph’s address from the facebook invite. Right now Giorno, Fugo, Mista, and Narancia were shouting in the group chat about how excited they were for the party. Doppio chose to put his phone on silent and focus on his game plan. He had dropped by the corner store and picked up a couple of Smirnoffs for Joseph. He wanted to make a good impression on him so he would hopefully be invited to more parties.
Joseph’s apartment was only a few blocks away from his dorm. The college had a large number of foreign students, so most of them lived around the same area, only a short distance from the campus. The city was lively that night, and Doppio had to admit that he was scared walking down the street alone dressed like he was. He quickly picked up his pace after getting cat-called a few times by a couple of drunken night-goers who probably thought he was a girl. Doppio quickly made it to the right location, he double-checked the address on his phone but honestly, he didn’t need to. Outside of the apartment, he could faintly hear the heavy beats of the base from the loud music. Doppio knocked on the door and waited for a few minutes. He shifted in place, holding the pack of Smirnoff’s was starting to get heavy, and the sweat that pooled on the outside of them was starting to get Doppios legs wet and it was proving to be very uncomfortable. No reply. Doppio sighed and texted Giorno “I’m here”. He knew Giono always arrived early to a party.
A few seconds later Joseph swung the door open and greeted Doppio with a huge bear hug.
“Come on in dude! Which one of Giorno’s buddies are you?” Joseph poked at his chest.
“Uh, my name’s Doppio, here.” Doppio pushed the drinks into Josephs's hands.
“Oh fuck, this shit it the best, thanks, little man.” Joseph patted Doppios head. Doppio blushed at the remark. He was not a “little man”, he was a grown boy!
Joseph invited Doppio inside where the music deafened his senses. There was a large number of people, already partying it up. In the middle of the room, there was a rowdy game of strip poker going on. Mista and Narancia looked up at Doppio and waved at him. They were already half-naked, not that Doppio was surprised. There was another group hanging out near the drinks, chatting to each other or staring at the ceiling, Doppio could tell they were high out of their minds. Fairy lights decorated the walls and Joseph had replaced the floodlights with blacklights. Everything had a unique glow to it. Doppio looked down and was pleased to find that his bright pink shorts were illuminated.
“More booze!” Joseph yelled, the party uproared in agreement. Doppio could see a tired-looking blonde man alone in the corner chaperoning the party. The blonde looked annoyed at the news, that must be Ceasar. Joseph patted Doppio lightly on the back. “Go on man, enjoy yourself.”
Joseph didn't have to tell Doppio twice. Doppio went over to the booze table to get some drinks. He greeted Giorno there, who was now performing “magic tricks” for all the high people. Giorno never drank at parties, and instead loved to mess with others who were stoned out of their mind.
“Glad to see your dads let you come.” Doppio said with a keen smile. Giorno just winked back and proceded to shuffle some cards. He could see in Giorno's back pocket that he had accumulated quite a bit of stolen money from some sleight of hand tricks. Doppio poured himself some rum and coke and sat down with Mista and Narancia near the strip poker table.
“Where’s Fugo?” Doppio shouted over the music. “He’s in the bathroom puking or something,” Narancia said with a wave of his hand. Narancia’s eyes never moved from his cards, he was focusing pretty hard on the game. Funny, Fugo was the one supposed to be watching Narancia, but it seemed like Fugo was too much of a lightweight.
“Royal Flush!” Someone yelled. Everyone at the table groaned and the game slowly came to an end. Narancia and Mista ended up stripping only to their underwear. Doppio assumed that no one wanted to see them naked so that's as far as the stripping would go. They were both absolutely drunk though, with having the pre-game alcohol and the party booze. Fugo came back right after the game had ended, holding his head. Narancia let Fugo take a nap in his lap for the time being.
The booze went by quickly and Doppio could feel his head spinning only after 30 minutes of being there. He had struck up a unique conversation with some other colleagues who were in different majors as him. One was named Weather Report, (Doppio admitted the name was pretty odd) and the other was named Anasui. They were vaping in the kitchen and Doppio wanted to mess with them, assuming they were pretentious assholes.
“I just don’t get why she doesn’t like me, I do everything for her you know! Everything! Then she makes up some dumb excuse like ‘oh I have a girlfriend’. Like sure you do, I bet she lives in Canada too.” Anasui took a long puff from his vape pen.
“Oh my god shut up.” The taller man, who had barely said a word, spoke up.
Doppio was a bit confused why Anasui was going on and on about some girl. Did he notice that Weather Report had his arm around his waist? Maybe they were just bros. Yeah. Good bros.
At that point, Doppio decided it was a good idea to excuse himself to go to the restroom to escape the awkward sexual tension between the two. While looking for the restroom he stumbled upon a group of people in one of the bedrooms. It looked like the group was attempting to use an ouija board.
“Oh great spirits, please tell me the winning loto numbers.” asked the one man with the giant ugly pompadour.
“Dude, are you moving it?” Said a girl with green bangs.
“No! Oh my God, we’re going to be rich! Okuyasu write this down!” He said again before being interrupted by the blonde kid with a blue starred beanie. “Guys, I was moving it, spirits aren’t real you idiots.” He seemed to be the only level headed one in the group.
Doppio decided to excuse himself before they noticed he was gawking. Eventually Doppio found the bathroom. He looked himself over in the mirror. He hadn’t noticed how drunk he had become. His image stared back at him and teetered back and forth. He held up his finger and moved it, trying to test his sobriety. Yep. he was definitely out of it. Doppio jolted as he heard a loud knock come from downstairs. The music suddenly stopped and everyone quieted to a whisper. Doppio poked his head out the door to see what was going on.
He could barely make out a figure at the door. It was a policeman with long silver hair, accompanied by another police officer with a “Karin” haircut. The two were talking to Joseph.
“Alright...Ok...Yeah.” Joseph muttered. He could tell Joseph was trying his best to sound as sober as possible.
“So keep it down alright, the party’s over for the night.” The silver-haired officer scolded him, after an affirming nod, Joseph shut the door. After the mood killer people started to clear out. He could see Giorno leaving with Mista, Fugo, and Narancia.
Doppio came down the stairs and greeted Giorno at the door.
“Hey, do you need a ride too? I'm headed that way?” Giorno asked.
Doppio only shook his head. He wasn’t sure why he refused the offer, but he really didn’t feel like fitting in a tight energy-efficient car with half-naked Mista and Narancia, and an angry drunken rambling Fugo.
“No thanks, my place isn’t too far from here anyway.” Doppio slurred.
Giorno gave him a concerned look. “Are you sure, you look a little…”
Dopping nodded.
“Alright then, if you need anything just call me.” Giorno headed out, supporting Narancia and Mista on both sides of him. Fugo kept pressing Giorno's lock button eliciting an annoying repetitive beep in order to find their car.
Doppio made sure he had his wallet and his phone before heading out, quickly patting down both of his pockets. As Doppio stepped outside of the apartment he could feel the fresh air hit his face, making all his senses go wild. He usually hated the smell of the city, but the cool night was welcoming compared to the cramped apartment. Doppio begun strutting down the street. The booze in his system made him feel like he was floating. It always felt like time passed faster while he was drunk.
Before he knew it he found himself in an unknown neighborhood. Perhaps he had taken a wrong turn somewhere. He was always such a clumsy person. He had started to regret not taking Giornos offer earlier. Doppio checked his phone map for directions. Right as he started to head the right direction, the phone had shut off, great, he had forgotten to charge it.
Doppio looked around helplessly, he was in apart of the city that he had no clue about. All he could see around him were bars. He tried to calm himself down and assess the situation as levelheaded as possible.
Ok, he was drunk, in an unknown part of town, his phone was dead, and he was dressed like a slut. This couldn’t be good in any sense of the word. Ok, what could he do? Look at your surroundings Doppio!
He looked around, his eyes landed on a particular neon sign.
“Salotto dei Diavoli…” Doppio hummed to himself. Too bad he failed Italian, otherwise, he would know what it said. Outside he could see in bright lights, ‘gentlemans club’. Perfect. This was the only place that Doppio could see open, besides all of the bars. Surely someone inside would let him borrow a charger for his phone! It was a gentleman's club after all!
Doppio cautiously approached the club, holding himself and trying his best to walk in a straight line. He arrived inside. Everyone around him was wearing extremely expensive suits. The crowd was so thick that he couldn’t see the back of the area. The lights were tinted red, causing the whole place to have a red hue casting over it. Smoke hung thick in the air, both from fog machines and the people's cigarettes. The place was huge and decorated with large Italian sculptures. Doppio shivered as he saw a gargoyle statue staring down at him. The red tint making it look especially malicious. Doppio spotted through the sea of people a bar. He pushed his way through the well-dressed crowd. He turned around sharply when he felt a slight pinch on his ass.
“Hey! You can’t just do that.” Doppio yelled at a large looming man. He covered his ass defensively
“Shouldn’t you be up on the stage, cutie?” The man asked with a creepy tone in his voice.
Doppio could only mutter to himself, he wasn’t good at confrontation, at least not when he was tipsy. He had no idea what the man was talking about and decided to just drop it. He headed back to towards the bar and had a seat on one of the red circle bar stools.
“Excuse me?” Doppio asked politely to the bartender, who was on his phone, not looking up at him. This annoyed Doppio to no end.
“I said excuse me? Is your customer service really that bad?” Doppio huffed.
The slender looking man with pointed features and blonde hair tied in multiple buns looked up at him. Then back down at his phone, The man then did a double-take back at Doppio.
“Hey? Aren't you a little young to be here?” The blond pointed out.
“I mean, I don’t know how old you have to be to be a ‘gentleman’ but I suppose so.” Doppio started. “I’m not here for reading books or whatever anyways. I was wondering if you had a phone charger I could borrow just for a little bit? You obviously have to have one on you if you ignore customers like this.”
The blond gave him an annoyed look and put his phone in his back pocket.
“Look, I don’t know who you are, and I don’t know how Risotto let you in, but you can’t be in here. You’re obviously not the type. We have a dress code here you know?” The man snappily replied.
Doppio just rolled his eyes. This man was being really difficult with him for some reason. Before he could reply Doppio felt a presence towering behind him. As Doppio turned around he could see a wide tan man looking down at him. He had straps splayed across his chest that accented just how insanely RIPPED this man was. Doppio felt his bottom lip quiver. Whether it was from arousal or fear he would never know.
“Hey, Risotto, this punk snuck in!” The blond called out. Doppio looked back at him feeling a tinge of betrayal.
“What do you want me to do about it Prosciutto?” The large tan man replied.
“I don’t know, as the bouncer maybe kick him out?” The blond sneered.
“Look at him though. He’s obviously here for the job with a getup like that.”
Doppio was too drunk to understand what was going on, but a job? He just wondered in this random place and he was already being offered a job? Right when he needed one too! Maybe this unlucky streak was actually a fortunate turn of events.
Doppio quickly replied. “Yeah! I’m uh… Here for the job.”
“See what did I tell ya?” Risotto sat down on the bar seat next to him and placed a large hand across Doppio’s back. For some reason having such a large man like that treat him so nicely made him feel safe.
Proscuitto looked Doppio up and down suspiciously, then took out a cigarette and a lighter.
“Whatever, you deal with him Risotto, I’m on break anyway.” Then the blond man stepped out from behind the bar, disappearing in the crowd.
“Come with me.We’ll start the interview.” Risotto said as he got up. The crowd naturally parted as he brushed past them. Doppio eagerly followed, feeling powerful being around such an intimidating figure.
Risotto had led him to a large door decorated in elaborate marble carvings. He opened the door with ease and gestured with a hand for Doppio to enter.
“This is the back room.” Risotto stated as Doppio took a look at his surroundings. Like the area before, this room was a monochromatic red, adorned with white marble and a few nice statues. Unlike before however, this room was covered from head to toe with red velvet. The walls, the carpet, the seating, all red velvet. Doppio's mouth dropped with awe. This was the fanciest place he had ever been in. He was sure that If he got this job then he would be making more then enough to pay for his extra class. He couldn’t wait to brag to Giorno, he was into lavish stuff like this.
Risotto sat down at the big desk that laid at one end of the room. Doppio quickly scurried to the seat in front of the desk. Risotto clasped his hands together and studied Doppio. His eyes were just as intimidating as his bulk. Doppio could feel the heat rushing to his face, as well as other parts of his body, but he prayed that Risotto wouldn't notice. After a long silence, Risottos strong voice broke the air.
“So… What’s your name?”
An odd question to start off with.
“My name is Doppio. Doppio Vinegar.” Doppio couldn't help but nervously smile.
“Hm…A cute name, I like it.” Risotto smiled, his dimples gave off a friendly vibe, but Doppio couldn’t help but notice Risotto had red glaring eyes, that struck fear in him.
He knew at any moment Risotto could overpower him. Was that hot? It was kind of hot. Doppio gulped and tried to chase his perverted thoughts away.
“T...Thank you sir.”
“How old are you Mr.Doppio?”
“Uh…” Doppio paused. “I’m 21, I’m still in college. I really need the extra money right now.”
“I see…” Risotto leaned back and seemed to think to himself before speaking up again.
“A little young to pursue a carer like this, but I have to admit, you are quite adorable.”
Doppio’s face heated up, was it ok for this man to talk this way to him? He had to admit, he didn’t really mind it.
“Ah...Um...Thank you?” Doppio said with a questioning tone in his voice.
“Well, I suppose the best way to see if you’re fit for the job is to give you a test run. The boss is here tonight, and I’m sure he would love to see what you have in store.” Risotto said.
“Sure! I...I don’t think I mind that?” Doppio's mind was going hazy, he didn’t know what he had just agreed too. Employees usually meet their boss on the first day right?
“Perfect.” Risotto hummed.
“Oh uh, what size are you by the way?”
What an odd question. “Usually a size small…” Doppio hesitantly replied. They must be taking that information for his uniform. Weird. He hadn’t even filled out any forms yet or heard anything about the pay.
Doppio could see Risotto dig through the drawer next to him, before pulling out a black bag. He handed the bag to Doppio.
“I’ll be back in 30 minutes. Put this on. The Boss is in the other room.” Risotto then left, the heavy doors closing with a boom.
“Put...What on?” Doppio looked inside the bag and turned a dark crimson. Oh no. Oh my god. He pulled the contents out of the bag. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Inside the bag had been a bow tie and little cuffs. That wasn’t the most embarrassing part though. Doppio reached in and pulled out a black thong, size small.
