Since she had first met him, in 1899 right after he had stepped onto the political stage with "The Development of Capitalism in Russia", Ivana had been a staunch Leninist and a Plekhanovite before that. She was convinced that she would be until her last breath. But that had brought with it many things, ideologically and otherwise. It determined her loyalties. And it had cut her off from many comrades. Because they had disagreed with Lenin at some point. Offended him in some way. These men could behave like children sometimes. But that was how it had always been. In politics and damn near anywhere else. One could not remain neutral in these things, no matter how tempting and reasonable an option it might have seemed.
