“Alright, I’ve got another question for you,” he says next, tapping a finger against his lip. Once he’s certain that he has Tim’s full attention on him, he tips his head down so their faces are level with each other and asks, “Do you know who I am?”
Tim stares at him for a long moment, and then his face breaks out into another one of those sunny smiles. “Dickie,” he says happily, kicking his little feet yet again. He raises an arm and his tiny hand pats Dick’s cheek, and Dick’s gone. His heart is melting into a puddle of love for this boy, his baby boy, and he doesn’t know what he’s going to do if he doesn’t hug him right this very second.
“Can I give you a hug?” Dick asks, practically vibrating out of his skin. Huh. Is this how Wally feels all the time? “You look like you need one.”
“Um…” Tim ducks his head, suddenly so shy. “Yes. Okay.”
Dick wraps his arms around the boy. He stiffens the way his older counterpart sometimes does, and then he sinks into the embrace like it’s his last, tiny hands clinging to Dick’s shirt and head nestling into Dick’s shoulder.
God, Dick could cry. Baby Tim is just so sweet.

“Oh no.” Karkat mutters, staring at the screen.
“It’s fine you said they were unconscious.” Sollux tells him, leaning over the back of Dave’s sofa where you’re all gathered to watch the broadcast.
“I mean… I think they were.” Karkat says, obviously anxious.
“An angel.” another agrees with a nod.
“...Mostly.” Karkat finishes lamely.
“Fucking… no, maybe they just mean- it could be metaphorical. You spend all day with your face in bibles then everything’s going to look like-” Sollux tries.
“He struck me across the face and I felt absolved of all sin, yet I didn’t die, he saved me.” another priest nods, there’s a bruise on his cheek.
“Karkat, did you bitchslap a priest?” Dave asks, leaning around you to stare at him.
“He wasn’t breathing right! I was trying to snap him out of it!” Karkat protests.
“And people bitch about my medical skills.” June snorts.
“He didn’t tase the man.” Jade retorts.
“I didn’t do shit with his sin either but okay.” Karkat says waving a hand at the TV.
Sollux has slumped face down on the back of the sofa and is whining pitifully.

“Where is Yingxing?” the judge asked again, and Dan Feng did not reply. “Where is Yingxing?”
“Dead,” said Dan Feng.
“Indeed,” said the judge, unimpressed. “And how did he die?”
“Blows from the Abominations. Many injuries building on each other. Bleeding out.”
“At which point he entered the pool,” said the judge. “Or will you spin me a story of how this coat he was wearing was completely submerged for another reason, why there is no short-life body here to recover, and why an Abomination that could only have taken dragon form by interference from a Vidyadhara High Elder completely destroyed two and a half delves aboard the Luofu before being brought down? If you have a better explanation, I am willing to listen.”
…The dragon Abomination?
It took a moment for Dan Feng to make the connection: the Ten-Lord Commission thought that Abomination was Yingxing. They did not suspect that the real Yingxing was struggling behind seals not ten feet below them, potentially able to hear this whole fiasco even if they couldn’t detect him. They had served him an excuse on a silver platter.
This would surely tarnish Yingxing’s legacy, but what route could Dan Feng take now that wouldn’t? This at least would keep him safe. They wouldn’t torture someone they didn’t even realize needed to be found.
Dan Feng shifted. He gingerly rose to a more dignified sitting position, or as close to one as he could with the chains tugging warningly against every limb. He met the judge’s gaze and said, “I am a sinner.”

“The con is in a few days!” Donnie called, already speeding back towards the building they’d left their brothers at. “See you then, Leo!”
Oh my god. Leo held his palms together, lifting his fingers to his mouth. That’s hilarious actually. But also oh my god. My brother’s writing fanfiction about me.
