He knows that Kaveh would be unlikely to put much effort into protesting if Alhaitham simply asked to hear it again.
He knows that Kaveh rarely turns down doing anything that is asked of him, and that he'll bend over backwards to give and give and give.
He knows he can get what he wants without ever finding out whether it aligns with what Kaveh wants as well.
Asking Kaveh explicitly is, thus, off the table.
What is not addressed by that statement is Alhaitham's newfound tendency to look for openings; situations that could, one way or another, with a string of decisions that are on par with cheap Inazuman light novels with their lack of common sense, end up with him feeling Kaveh's pulse.
Or,
Alhaitham is just a little obsessed with Kaveh's heartbeat. So much so that he hears it ghosting over his ears whenever he doesn't have his headphones on. Shenanigans ensue when said headphones get broken.

Summary
Tony has been dealing with heart problems in some shape or form for a long time now, and it never crossed his mind that it would render him unfit for duty. After all, the suit was there. However, the combination of worsening heart function and PTSD was rapidly taking Tony to the edge of what he could compensate for with his technology. Tony tried to avoid any potential triggers. It became increasingly difficult as even the lightest reminder of his past traumas was sufficient to set him off. He had become irritable and prone to angry outbursts. Jarvis and Dummy had felt the brunt of it on account of the fact that he spent most of the time in his lab, isolating himself from the world. He felt depression slowly creeping in. He hadn't felt so low since he'd been convinced that he was going to die from palladium poisoning.
This series explores in detail Tony's struggles with worsening heart condition and PTSD. He tries to cope alone but eventually is forced to accept help. Sometimes from unexpected sources.

Ciel narrowed his eyes. “And this isn’t your way of getting a bite of me early, is it?”
Sebastian chuckled. “No, more like a long taste before spitting you back out, intact and whole.” He seemed excited despite his effort to be composed. Ciel had never caught Sebastian looking so openly invigorated. “You’ll feel me just as much, young master. If anything would send you scurrying from this, it would be that.”
Yet again, his curiosity won out. Ciel wanted it so badly, to lay his soul out and all of his burdens with it, even if coming together meant fear or pain. If he was frightened out of his mind, at least he wouldn’t be alone.
That was all he wanted. To not be alone. He could let Sebastian in, let him understand him while he was still living, while he needed this.
“Okay.” Ciel tried to sound brave. “How?”
