Summary
Lord Voldemort has ruled the wizarding world since his decisive victory at the Battle of Hogwarts. Killing Harry Potter was all he needed to do, it turns out, in order to extinguish the remaining hope from most of the populace.
Most, but not all.
Hermione Granger, a member of the barely-surviving Order of the Phoenix, is captured and imprisoned in Malfoy Manor, and placed in the charge of the family’s son and heir. Isolated from her allies and plotting her escape, Hermione learns more than she means to about her jailer, and about the house itself. There is more going on here than meets the eye…

Ron shakes his head. “No. But Harry’s asleep.”
Why he adds the latter, he can’t fathom.
(He can, of course. What he really can’t fathom is what Hermione would be doing here that would necessitate Harry being asleep. Because the implication of that…bloody hell. Mentally, Ron blows out a breath.)
“So is Ginny,” Hermione says. She pauses. “I was wondering if you’d come help me with my shoulder?”

Summary
After Hermione is ordered to remain at the safehouse to recover following a battle injury, Death Eater Draco Malfoy arrives looking for refuge. Left alone, they strike up an unlikely friendship and seek comfort in each other.
