Chapter Text
The air was thicker than usual, just as the tension that grew as hell fell upon the End.
And the war began.
As expected. They were not the only deities in existence. But it seemed they were the low percentage that didn’t let envy turn into unnecessary wrath that only caused damage.
Irreparable damage that leads broken hearts to death, and families to disappear.
Just like End’s and Aether’s, who had to escape into the overworld, to find the help their old friend Death offered. Help that came from the last god they thought would come.
The Blood God.
It was night when they fell into a giant pile of snow, in the middle of some sort of Arctic that Kristine mentioned in her long-responded letters along with the description of a blond-haired man, that responded to the name of Philza, Angel of Death, who was currently allied with a piglin hybrid who became his closest friend during the reign of their Empire.
The Arctic Empire. The last place both goddesses thought of as the only salvation of their son but ended up being.
As both ladies struggled between injuries and burn scars they kept their baby hidden in soft fabrics that barely helped in the icing cold, managing to approach a rudimentary castle that shone in the middle of the dark of the cold desert, before falling exhausted in the snow. For End's bad luck.
"End! Hun’ wait, take my cape, you’ll burn yourself more!"
The Enderman hybrid coughed almost knocked out.
"No, please, keep it, you must keep Ranboo warm," she begged, hissing at the pain, cuddling in herself as she fell on the ground.
Aether was at the edge of crying, almost panicking when Ranboo started crying loudly in her embrace.
So she did the last thing she could, she screamed for help.
"HELP! PLEASE, ANYONE!"
But the biome stayed silent.
"HELP! HELP, PLEASE! I don’t want to lose my family…"
A bark was heard at the distance as the rushing of boots resounded on the floor, approaching them little by little, giving sight to a messy-braided pink hair that billowed, following the air.
And the couple finally could breathe in between tears.
Until they saw who did that majestuous hair belonged to. Then, the only thing they could do was beg for the baby’s wellness.
"Is anyone out there?!"
The voice of the Blood God sounded monotone as he explored the surroundings of his home.
That night, he was supposed to be enjoying a good reading while resting in his silent waiting, hoping for his friend to return soon, safe and quick. He can’t stand his child anymore, Wilbur was his name, and damn, the teen was almost a pain in the ass.

I think I heard something North
"I swear… Chat, shut up. "
He whispered under his cold breath. And then he heard it again, a silent crying of a woman, so he followed the sound, and found the last thing he could ever think about.
Two goddesses, he knew, in shambles, cuddling a small shape of blankets in between their bodies.
This was no good.

"End? Aether? How did you, dear mistresses, end in the cold lands of this Arctic?"
Both women seemed to yelp at the sound of his voice, but only Aether was capable enough to raise her sight to his face.
"Technoblade, from deity to deity, I’ll cash on the one favor that we, as gods, have written as a right in the universe."
A favor?
What’s that thing in their arms?
FAVOR? WHAT?
Please, let's just go back to read
A sudden blow of cold air seemed to send chills under his body as the eyes of the Goddess crystallized and the bulge that was in between her arms, moved slowly, alive.
IS THAT AN ORPHAN???

His bearing remained firm and his gaze heavy, as the albino moved tired, holding her breath while the woman beside her whispered.
“Aether, we can trust him, Kristin told us to trust whoever lives in this castle, remember?”
Kristin? The goddess of Death, his friend’s wife?
Did she send them to this place? But, Phil didn’t mention anything.

'Oh, in that case, I must welcome them into the building immediately,' he thought, preparing himself to carry them indoors as he said the following words.
"Please, follow me indoors, I can bring some help to-"
But, he was interrupted.
" Technoblade… "
He paused as his name was mentioned for the first time in the night. Glancing expectantly at the couple, waiting for their next sentence. But, no word came from the black-haired woman that stood convalescent with the help of her wife.
And with the next thing, he felt like he was in a drama book.
OOOOOOH SHE SAID THE NAME
This is serious

End took the little lump between quilts that rested in Aether’s arms, making it cry as she moved the clothing around and approached it to the pink-haired man, hearing the protests of her wife as Technoblade moved his sight into the object.
It was a baby.
It was clearly their baby.

What is happening?
End took a deep breath as she fought against a sob as a green light moved out of her, surrounding the crying baby in her hands. It was her aura.
She wasn’t kidding.
But before Techno could give a response, Aether barked in.
"End, please, just, let’s go inside, I wasn’t thinking about cashing this as the favor! We have time to think about this!"
She complained, clinging to her wife’s clothes. End didn’t move, she kept focusing on flowing her energy around the baby but still responded under Technoblade’s surprised gaze.
"We have no time, Aether! NO TIME! Your universe is in ruins, and mine is being attacked! We promised our people that we were going to protect them, OUR PEOPLE ARE ALSO OUR CHILDREN!"
White lips parted and closed as tears slipped through them.
"I..."
"Hun’ I know, we are doomed, I know that if we return we will be condemned to die. But as long as Ranboo lives, as long as he remains protected. We can recover all things we lost, there will be hope for us…
The silence in Aether’s space was heavy but spoke a lot more than words could do as her eyes went to Technoblade before focusing on Ranboo.
And Techno didn’t know what to feel anymore.
A red light seemed to glow out of her hand as she joined her wife’s grip, letting it flow into the green, making a piece of white paper appear next to a golden feather.
The contract to seal the pact.
But, he couldn’t accept it. He was the Blood God! War’s best colleague, Death’s best warrior, a man with the blood of thousands in his hands, a monster brought from hell.
For the first time in ages, he hesitated.
Dear universe, what did he get himself into?
"Ladies, I don’t know if I can accept this petition or be capable of raising this child. I’m the violence itself, a child will be in danger in my hands."
He tried to keep his voice as monotone as always, but somehow, couldn’t avoid showing the imminent nervousness in his voice.
He can’t be in charge of a child, he’s still a young deity! Yes, he was under Philza’s guidance and had a couple of hundred years, but still! The only thing he knew how to do was eat, sleep, fight and kill, he can’t raise a child, it's impossible.
What do you mean you can’t, YOU ARE WILBUR’S UNCLE WTF
You helped Phil raise his child!

ONE OF US
"Technoblade, we know that what we ask is a lot, we know we haven’t talked much before… but please… Save our son…"
Techno held his breath, looking at the couple in front of him. They looked so desperate, destroyed, as they were giving him their soul and life without a choice, praying to keep their only hope alive.
So, for the first time in ages, he felt mercy.
ONE OF US
He extended his arm, letting his aura flow around his body and concentrate in his hand as he took the golden quill between his fingers. Closing his eyes.
ONE OF US
Took a dagger and cut his hand, letting the blood stain the baby’s blankets. It was now or never.
ONE OF US
And he signed the paper with his blood as a white void surrounded them in a flash. Then, he opened his eyes.
Clothes and jewels descended into his body as his human form shapeshifted into his piglin side.
He was summoned in his God form and he was in a trial.
In front of him, two majestic figures remained seated, holding scepters and showing all kinds of jewels in their bodies.
They were Death and Life. The rulers of the Universe.
He was in the Reality Court, right where he came when Philza rescued him from the Nether, right where he was ascended as the Blood God, right where he is going to become a… father?
Technoblade looked at his hand, it was brought into a glowing star that shined from the quill and kept his, End’s, and Aether’s hands linked in between.
It felt surreal.
"Wait… TECHNO?!"
The mentioned one turned around and saw his friend, Philza, who sat on the podium that stood proudly by Death’s side.
Oh... All the deities and members of the court have been summoned.
Well, this is NOT what he expected.
"Well, this is a surprise, isn’t it?"
Life spoke, holding a glass of wine in her hands, glancing at Death, who showed a concerned look over the trio that stood on the floor.
"Oh… End, Aether, is everything alright?"
Both ladies seemed to be decisive as a purple aura surrounded their bodies. They both showed distinctive dresses that represented each one of their dimensions perfectly. Their images were heaven-like.
The couple looked at each other with determination and nodded.
End was the first to speak.
"Death, my reality is currently under attack, my people are suffering under other god’s hands, and now, there’s no safe home for me or Aether, to let our son live."
Life seemed to cough at the statement, The End was in what?
"I’m sorry, End. But, is your dimension under attack?"
End nodded and Aether took a deep breath before talking to the glowing goddess.
"Indeed, ma’am. The End, our home, seems to have no future, just as my home, the Aether. We no longer have a place to go or the strength to fight since our mortal bodies are agonizing and in their last life."
Death gasped in pain, transforming her form into a smaller version of her, as she walked to the couple, with tears in her eyes.
Wait… Where’s the child?
Life sighed as she also followed Death's doing, walking straight at the glowing star that pulsed in the middle of the podium, introducing her hands into and grabbing a figure that bathed her hands in gold as the baby re-emerged from it.
Techno could not believe what he was seeing.
The baby's heart glowed in purple, making his chest almost transparent as the fusion of a crystal and a pearl was shown to the court.
Those were the precious jewels of the realities his mothers ruled. The ones that were supposed to be missing for months.
What was happening?
"I see… Now I understand the cause of the deal that is being presented here. You asked for your favor, to the Blood God, to protect the blessing you received from the Nether Star."
A what, from what now?
Why does each time he gets involved with a deity always end up enrolled in strange things?
I mean, he made contracts before, but it always ended or in war, murder, sacrifice, kidnapping, curses… Well, that sure is a lot.
Techno was dragged out of his thoughts as the hands of Death reposed in his face, in a motherly touch. Kristin showed concern as she talked to him, confused.
"Techno, dear friend. Are you okay? Are you aware of the seriousness of this petition?"
Well, yes he knew —no, he didn't. But also, he took that decision from pure instinct, you can’t blame him for that.
He can’t turn back now.
"Yes, I do. And I fully accept this child under my custody."
"Then, let the trial begin," Life added as she took the baby in his arms and returned to her throne.
