Chapter Text
The doctor looked at the two Alphas, that were currently bickering about whether Kageyama worn a condom or not, with disinterest.
“Well you obviously didn’t wear one because he is pregnant” Kuroo argued.
“It was his first heat, how was I supposed to know he would catch?” Kageyama whined. The doctor cleared his throat drawing both the Alpha’s attention back to him.
“I’d place Hinata at ten weeks and Tsukishima at nine weeks,” The doctor stated, looking down back at his notes, “I’d also recommend a scan for both to check how many are in the litter.” Kageyama turned away, crossing his arms over his chest and sulking childishly.
“When’s the next available time for that?” Kuroo asked, turning his attention back to the doctor.
“There is a gap between now and my next appointment so I could slip you in now.” The doctor said, looking up from his schedule on the computer. Kuroo nodded eagerly and soon they were led into a similar looking room except for two beds and a large ultrasound machine.
“Just get your Omegas to lie on the bed and hike their shirts up. I’ll go get the technician.” The doctor nodded at the Alphas before leaving the room. Kuroo quickly got to Kei’s side, hand supporting his waist as he lead him to one of the beds.
“Are you nervous?” Kuroo asked, running a hand over Kei’s forehead. Kei averted his eyes, looking over to where Hinata and Kageyama were bickering.
“A little, Alpha,” Kei said meekly as he laid his head back on the pillow. Kuroo cooed at the Omega, running a hand softly across the juncture of Kei’s neck.
“Don’t worry, sunshine. Everything will be okay and the ultrasound will just confirm that the pup is fine and healthy.” Kuroo soothed, slowly running his hands through Kei’s short blond hair. Kei just nodded in response, eyes averting from Kuroo’s. He didn’t want to voice his concerns, knowing that Kuroo would just say everything was okay. It wasn’t okay, he was a horrible Omega that miscarried. He couldn’t fulfil his one purpose in life, he failed his previous Alpha and he will fail Kuroo.
By the time Kageyama and Hinata had finally made it onto the bed, the technician had entered the room, looking at the mates with a puzzled look.
“He’s quite young,” The technician remarked as he walked over to the ultrasound machine, quickly getting himself setup.
“Well they’re idiots and didn’t use protection for his heat,” Kuroo explained. The technician just laughed and smiled to himself.
“That’s how I got my second child. I know how you feel,” The Alpha laughed, “Now the gel might be a little cold.” He spurted some blue gel onto Kei’s stomach and pressed the wand gently against his skin. Kei grimaced at the temperature hut quickly glanced up at the screen in anxiousness. The technician slowly moved the wand around Kei’s stomach, trying to pinpoint the location of the child. Suddenly a loud heartbeat came drumming through the speakers making Kei sigh in relief. The technician scanned the screen before smiling,
“Everything is looking good. Only one pup in the litter as far as I can see.” Kuroo squeezed Kei’s shoulder, smiling at his mate.
“Told you it would be okay, Kei.” Kuroo placed a gentle kiss on his temple. Kei put on a fake small smile but turned quickly back to the screen with a frown on his face and his stomach in knots.
“Alright now moving onto to Mr. Hinata,” The technician said, grabbing a cloth to wipe down Kei’s stomach. The gel left a stick residue on his skin and his shirt stuck to it as he pulled it down covering his stomach. He grimaced slightly, feeling discomfort at the sticky feeling.
The doctor had moved onto Hinata, repeating the same process he had done with Kei. Soon the sound of a heartbeat, that sounded twice as fast as Kei’s baby’s. The doctor pursed his lips together, staring at the screen in concentration.
“Something wrong?” Kuroo asked as he saw Kageyama go pale.
“No, everything is fine and looking good. I’m just trying to see how many is in the litter?” The technician replied, looking back at the worried parents with a warm smile.
“There’s more than one?!” Hinata squeaked, suddenly looking very pale as well as his Alpha. The technician hummed, angling the wand into another position.
“Okay, there’s three. Hopefully there isn’t another one lurking behind the first three,” He joked, not noticing the pale drain from both Omega and Alpha as well as Kuroo.
“Three,” Hinata whispered to himself, panic lacing his voice.
“Of course, its quite normal for younger Omegas to have higher number in their litters. Especially if it is also you’re first pregnancy. Congratulations, both Alphas and Omegas.” The technician wiped the gel of Hinata’s stomach and discarded the tissue in the trash before starting to shut down all the equipment.
“Jesus Christ Kageyama,” Kuroo sighed as he wrapped an arm around Kei’s waist and slowly helped him return to his feet. Kageyama just flushed a bright crimson and averted his gaze from Hinata who seemed to be glaring at him.
