Chapter Text
Loona looks at the five hellhounds in front of her. Their fur isn’t just white, its as white as the snow outside of the building. They all have black spots, the black is as black as the night sky. They all have golden eyes that seem to burn into her very soul. They all had the signature mark of the Goldblood Pack on them, a golden wolf skull. They all wore it with what seemed like hidden and calm pride, completely exposed. The tallest one spoke to her, he had the most black patterns on him, alongside a weird aura of magic around her. She had felt a similar aura whenever she opened a portal.
”Hello, you’re Loona, right?” he said in a slow and careful tone. It wasn’t a surprising thing, she very much looked completely fucking terrified.
”I am, Mr Goldblood” she answered as politely as possible. She quickly looked behind her where she saw her travelling companions looking both confused and a bit uneasy.
”No need for such things Loona, Hrafn is fine” he said with a dismissive wave of his hand. His claws were unsheated, they were a black colour, like coal after a fire. Loona looked completely surprised now. The names of Erik Goldblood’s sons were some of the best kept secrets in that family.
”O-okay, Hrafn, may I ask why you are here sir?” she asked in as polite of a tone as she could. The fear had returned to her face and tone. She knew that the sons of Erik Goldblood were dangerous, they could kill her with ease if they so deemed it needed. Hrafn was about to speak but was stopped by one of the other sons putting his paw on his mouth. A lanky Hellhound stood beside Hrafn, he had fewer black patterns and he stood with an essence of tiredness.
”There’s no need for extra politeness, we won’t kill you” he said with his tired voice. His eyes were halfclosed as he looked at her with a tired gaze. He seemed to be either tired or high out of his mind.
”I’m Torsten by the way” he said while pointing at himself with one of his claws. Torsten wore a black suit with golden details, just like his brothers. His jacket was unbuttoned and he didn’t have a vest.
”Good to know” Loona said carefully, that was before her brain understood the rest of the man’s statement.
”Why am I completely free of being killed by you?” she asked. Torsten yawned before answering.
”We need your help finding Valdabók” he answered before turning to one of his brothers and gesturing for them to take over the conversation. This one was tall and muscular with black patterns in his fur as well.
”Alright, I’m Sigurd, questions?” he asked while keeping his eyes on Loona. He had an australian accent.
”I have a que-” Charlie began saying but she was interupted by the five brothers staring at her.
”Quiet hljóð” the shortest brother said, he was also the buffest of them in relation to bodysize. Sigurd looked back at Loona and waited for answer from her.
”No, no I do not” she said after a few seconds. Sigurd nodded before he started talking again.
”We need your help with finding this book, and we are hoping you know where to find it.” Sigurd explained as he scratched the back of his neck. Loona tilted her head slightly before answering.
”Aren’t you guys his kids, shouldn’t you know where it is?” she asked carefully. The shortest brother sighed as he rubbed his eyelids.
”You’d fucking think so.” he said in a tired and annoyed tone.
”Ignore Björn, but he’s right, we have no idea where the book is.” Sigurd said after pointing at Björn. Loona had lost most of her fear, she was still uneasy but she was more confused than scared.
”I have a folder that should have information” Loona answered while she took out the folder that she had gotten from Huginn and Muninn. The brothers eyes went a bit wide with surprise, but they quickly lost the surprised look as they waited for her to open it. She opened the folder and took out a piece of paper that had the mark of a golden wolf skull on it. She sat down on the couch in the room and read what it said.
”The book should be hidden in the place that Erik first appeared in.” Loona explained. She then hears the brothers groan in annoyance.
”Of course, of course he would hide a book in the most obvious place in the world.” Björnhild said as he let out a humorless laugh. While the brothers were being angry at the world and themselves, Loona had turned to her travelling companions.
”So, do we have a plan?” Charlie asks. Loona sighs and thinks for a moment.
”We’ll follow them, if Erik’s sons are here that means there is a reason.” Loona said as she scratched the back of her neck.
”And can we trust them?” Vaggie asked. Loona thought for a moment, trying to find a way to say yes.
”No, I don’t know about their actual plan, maybe they’ll help us, maybe they won’t.” Loona said. Suddenly she heard two of the brothers fight. She turned around and saw the two. It was Sigurd and another one that was tall and fairly muscular. Sigurd had the other one in a chokehold, they were swearing at each other. Cursing like it would work. She sent a glare at them both without even noticing that she did. They both looked up at her and they felt her glare like it had burrowed deep into their souls. They let go off each other and looked regretful.
”Sorry.” they said at the same time. They looked like children who had gotten caught doing something that bad, like they had been caught by their mother.
”How are we gonna drive to where he-?” Stolas began to ask but he was quickly interupted by Björnhild.
”Don’t you worry about that, we have plenty of space in our car.” he said in a proud tone. Loona almost rolled her eyes at the pride Björn had.
