The rules around soulmates and spirit animals:
Spirit animals only appear when a person is 20 or older. (In Geralt's case, wayyyyy older. Lol.)
Someone can have more than one soulmate in a lifetime or even at the same time. Most people usually have just one.
Not everyone is guaranteed to have a soulmate.
Spirit animals cannot be touched unless they allow it. They can also turn invisible if they choose to.
Not all soulmates fall in love right away or live long enough to meet their match.
All soulmates tend to have a similar expected lifespan. For example, a half-elf and a Witcher would live around the same number of years, unless killed.
