Chapter Text
The next morning Logan woke up late, since he was never really a morning person anyway, and got dressed in some fresh sweatpants and a shirt Peter had insisted on buying, saying it was funny, and then headed out to the kitchen to get himself some late breakfast/early lunch. And as he walked into the living room he found Wade laid out on the couch with a coloring book and crayons while Peter sat in Logan's chair curled up in a blanket and with a textbook propped up against his knees, reading. Both of them had steaming cups of coffee and there were empty plates on the coffee table, while golden girls was playing on the TV. Honestly, they looked super domestic and cozy.
Logan looked over at them with a tired, blank look on his face, since this was the calmest he'd ever seen Wade. Wade finally looked up from the half colored my little pony though and looked up at Logan with a big grin.
“mornin’, peanut! Welcome to the land of the living.” Wade said, kicking his feet a little with barely contained excitement. Ah, Peter might have mentioned something to Wade about their talk last night then. Logan sighed, walking over to his vibranium weight proof armchair and clearing his throat.
Peter looked up, a little startled and his concentration broken as he looked up at Logan. “huh? Oh! Right, sorry, I'm in your chair.” the younger man said before easily getting up and moving to plop himself down right on top of Wade's back instead, legs folded underneath himself and the blanket pulled back into place as he looked back at his book. Wade didn't seem to mind at all whatsoever that there was a whole person sitting on him, just grinning big and happy and lightly kicking his feet still, just continuing on with his coloring.
Logan snorted at their antics, shaking his head before sitting down in his chair with a grunt, getting comfortable. “morning. Studying?” Logan asked Peter, who nodded distractedly.
“yeah, I have a paper due by Friday and a book to finish before Monday so I'm gonna be reading a lot. Don't mind me though.” Peter murmured, already back to being mostly absent and in his book.
Wade just chuckled. “yeah, don't mind him. He's gonna be off on another planet for the next forever. On the bright side, even with his hearing, he can't hear shit when he's concentrating and now that you're awake, you can entertain me, peanut!” Wade exclaimed, suddenly jumping up and all but throwing Peter off himself as he did so. The younger brunette simply and easily landed on the back of the couch though and through some impressive flexibility and maneuvering got himself folded into the corner of the couch without falling. He didn't even look up from his book.
Logan sighed deeply, already frustrated, but grabbed Wade by the scruff of his shirt anyway and dragged him off to the kitchen. “I need to talk to you anyway, but I ain't doin’ it without eating first. Come on.” the shorter mutant growled as he dragged Wade along. Wade just let him, grinning up at Logan like he was about to get a thousand presents for a thousand birthdays all at once.
“Yeah? You need to talk to me? You mean it?” Wade asked, voice high and slightly cracking with barely contained excitement. Logan inwardly snorted and looked down at Wade who was now sitting on his knees on the floor by Logan's feet. “Yeah. Guess I do. Pete mention anything?” Logan asked with a small smirk, which had Wade flap his hands aggressively. “noooooooooo. Not at all! Whatever could you possibly mean? That's crazy.”
Logan snorted, rolling his eyes and turning to the coffee maker to turn it on. He then grabbed some stuff from the fridge and slapped together a quick sandwich with 4 different types of meat on it.
“is that right…” Logan murmured, raising an eyebrow down at Wade.
“well, sit your fuckin ass down in a chair like a normal human being and I might just tell you what it was I needed to talk to you about.” Logan grumbled before he himself took a seat at the kitchen table, then taking a bite from said food.
That sent Wade scrambling like never before, almost smacking right into the table and 2 separate chairs on his way to get up and sit properly. Once he did though, he had his hands neatly folded before him and his full, undivided attention was on Logan. “Yeeeeees?”
“food first, bub.” Logan grumbled, gesturing to the sandwich in his hand and the coffee next to his plate. “patience ain't your strong suit, but I'm starvin’”. Wade nodded fake-patiently and just kept staring at Logan as he ate, a big ass grin on his face and lightly bouncing his leg, trying so hard to be still and patient which was an impressive feat for the merc. Logan just rolled his eyes a bit and kept eating, being just a little slow on purpose, a little amused at Wade's attempt to be good.
When he was finally done, he got up to put his plate in the sink and refill his coffee, then sat down again with a sigh. “alright. So… I Guess I'd like to try to be a part of… Whatever it is you two have going on. But I want to take it slow. I don't know y'all all that well so I'd like to get to know you guys properly.” Logan finally spoke, looking down at his mug. When he looked back up at Wade, the bald lunatic was grinning so wide it must have hurt, and he was gripping his hands together tightly to try and contain himself.
“this is the best day ever! Well, okay no, the day petey said yes to marrying me was the best day ever, but this is a very close second! Oh my gosh I can't wait to show you all the love and affection your lonely angry ass has missed out on!” Wade rambled, fast and high pitched with his excitement.
“can I come hug and kiss you now? Actually, you're my boyfriend now so I don't need permission!” he said then, jumping up and basically throwing himself into Logan's lap to hug him tightly. Logan caught him with a growl, but let Wade kiss his cheek a few times before he finally placed a hand over the other man's face and slightly pushed him away a few inches. “alright, enough. Get off me.”
Wade giggled but did as asked, bouncing off Logan's lap and danced into the living room to pick up Peter like he didn't weight anything and spin him around all excited like.
Peter just looked confused for a minute, until Wade explained. “Logie is our boyfriend! This is the second best day of my life Pete!” he exclaimed, still twirling Peter around. The younger man just sighed with a fond smile. “Yes. Happy for us. I need to study Wade, please.” he murmured. Wade grinned and gently put Peter down on the couch. “but baby boy, we should celebrate!” Wade then exclaimed, bouncing on his feet. “later, Wade. Please. Like, half this class's grade relies on this paper.” Peter murmured, but he was still smiling fondly at Wade.
Wade sighed dramatically, throwing his head back. “fiiine. Be a boring book worm I guess. Can I play Mario kart at least?” he asked, and Peter nodded. “yeah, I'll move to my lab.”
The youngest of the three got up off the couch and began to walk off to said lab, pausing on the way to give Logan a warm smile, and a soft kiss on the cheek, and then Logan watched him go into the lab room with a slight frown. He then sighed and mentally promised himself he'd keep Wade busy so Peter wouldn't be interrupted again. He took a seat on his chair again and sighed. “right. Show me this… Mario car thing.” he grumbled, and Wade lit up like a Christmas tree.
“you wanna play?! I'll show you how it's done! This'll be amazing!” the bald man exclaimed as he ran to the TV to get the game all set up, connecting controllers and picking a cup to drive.
And soon enough, Logan was getting his ass kicked to hell and high water by Wade in a video game he'd never even heard of, but he was having a bit of fun anyway whenever he got the blue shell item and then used that to blow up Wade from first place. And all things considered, he wasn't doing all that terribly. He was usually around 5th or 6th place and even ended up in 3th a few times. It took some effort, but he managed with his bowser set up that Wade helped him with a few rounds in.
After a good hour or two of Mario kart, Wade decided he in fact had to show Logan all types of video games now, and so they ended up playing smash bros for about an hour, with countless innuendos from Wade. They then played Pokémon for a bit, followed by breath of the wild. And so far Logan liked that one best. The walking around and finding stuff, the nature and the hunting and gathering was fun for him, so they played that one the longest, and Wade was very peacefully just leaning against Logan's shoulder and watching the whole time. Zelda was a single player game so there wasn't much else for him to do but he seemed content just laying his head on Logan's shoulder and giving him tips every now and then. It was… Surprisingly nice.

Finally, around dinner time, Peter finally emerged from the lab room and ended up popping down right at Logan's other side, also cuddling into him for warmth and to watch. “mm… Has he freaked out over guardians yet?” Peter asked, and Wade chuckled. “nah, baby boy. Only the ones on the plateau. I've been steering him clear so you could teach him your ways, oh great grandmaster of guardians.” Wade joked with a grin. Peter snorted and began leading Logan towards that one tower in Hyrule field that was protected by a mobile guardian. Logan ended up handing Peter the controller and the smaller brunette absolutely demolished the guardian even with no gear and a flimsy shield. “there. And that's how you do it. You wanna try? There's another one not far from here.” Peter asked Logan, and Logan looked down at Peter and then at Wade.
Suddenly Logan was just… Awestruck. This was so domestic. It was so peaceful. Hell, it'd been easy. He… He didn't deserve this, did he? But here he was, in between two tactile snuggle bugs, playing a video game of all things. And actually having fun. He was just left staring at the screen, controller limp in his hand, and Wade seemed to notice what was going on. He chuckled gently and nudged Peter's knee. “go order dinner. Sushi, maybe. I think we lost him for a bit.”
Peter nodded with a smile and pressed a soft kiss to Logan's shoulder before pulling out his phone and ordering the food. Once that was done he just closed his eyes and leaned against Logan patiently, just letting the older man work through his emotions in peaceful gentle quiet. Even Wade was calm, gently prying the controller from Logan's hands and going to collect fireflies and glowing mushrooms.
Logan just sat there, staring into space for a while, just so casually being loved by these two amazing people, and spiraling a little bit as he wondered how he'd gotten to this point in life.
Once the sushi arrived, Peter went to open the door to go get it, then carefully deposited himself and the food back down on the couch with a smile. He grabbed a fried chicken Maki roll and popped it into Logan's mouth, snapping him out of his staring. Peter chuckled as he held out a plate and a set of chopsticks to Logan. “let's eat. Before it gets cold.” Peter joked, making Wade laugh. Even Logan couldn't help but snort at the joke, rolling his eyes, and beginning to select some sushi from the large ass family platters. He was surprised when between the other two, Wade was the one that was mostly grabbing vegetable pieces, and Peter was the one with mostly fish and meat on his plate. Peter also had more than Wade and Logan. Logan had noticed that. Peter ate more food than Wade and Logan combined. Which was insane because 2 mutants with a healing factor should not be getting out-eaten by a skinny twink in his twenties. He knew young people ate a lot but he thought that stopped when puberty was over.
He thought about it some more and then just mentally shrugged. The kid could eat whatever he wanted, since he was kind enough to let Logan stay in his home. Hell the kid could walk around naked, covered in ketchup and fleas for all he cared. It wasn't his place to judge the younger man when the smaller brunette was nice enough to let him stay around for free and fed him good food without being asked. If the kid wanted to be a little weird, that was none of Logan's business.
They ate in relative quiet, occasionally trading sushis that another might like, and eventually it devolved to Peter, with his plate empty, getting hand-fed by wade to eat even more, and Logan even ended up putting a few of his own pieces on Peter's plate since the kid seemed bottomless and managed to eat everything he was given.
Finally, Peter declined a piece that Wade was trying to feed him, shaking his head with a smile. “I'm good. Thanks.” he murmured, and Wade nodded, his eyes serious. “ya sure baby boy? Full?” Peter smiled wider and nodded.
“yeah, Wade. Stuffed.” he said back, and it seemed Logan was missing something because Wade was way too serious about making sure Peter was full. He gave them a questioning look, and Peter shook his head.
“don't worry. I'm fine. Wade just has a thing for feeding me since I used to be broke and couldn't get enough to eat.” Peter explained and Wade nodded along.
“baby boy used to starve every day. It's why I started bugging him with tacos, like I told you.” Wade added, now smiling at Peter warmly. “he had important stuff to do and he couldn't do that when half dead.”
Logan nodded, looking Peter over. The kid was skinny, but he looked healthy and well fed. Just lean, not like he was skin and bones. He sighed and finished his own sushi before collecting everyone else's plates and trash and going to clean up.
He just easily did the dishes and threw out the trash, staring out of the kitchen window for a bit as he did, just thinking. He was still slightly spiraling, his insecurities loud in his head. After all, he was the worst wolverine. A murderer. A traitor.
All your friends are dead because of you, Logan. And here you are, playing video games. You should be mourning. A voice in Logan's head said, sounding a suspicious lot like Jean.
You don't deserve to have peace, when you ruined ours. Another voice, this one sounding like Scott. Fuck.
You've done horrible, terrible things, and you never made it right. All you did was leave. You always leave. Laura's voice. We're dead, long gone, killed because you couldn't be bothered to be here when we needed you. Charles. Fuck. Logan was shaking, putting the plate down in the sink and leaning on the edge of the counter with a cut off shuddered breath. His jaw was clenched and he was trying to breathe through the emotions suddenly raging against the inside of his chest. His heart felt like it was trying to crawl up his throat and he tried to swallow it back down but it just made him nauseous instead. He ended up bent over the counter with his head in his hands, breath ragged and sharp, quick.
A hand came out of nowhere, landing gently on Logan's shoulder, startling him and making him whip around with his claws out, ready for a fight. Peter only barely dodged the sharp extrusions on Logan's knuckles with wide eyes, looking up at him with concern. But no fear. Huh…
“Logan? What's going on? Are you okay?” Peter whispered, once again gently placing his hand on Logan's arm and gently pushing the claws away from pointing at his face. Logan quickly pulled his arm back down, retracting the claws, acting as if Peter's touch burned, looking away. “I'm fine.”
The smaller brunette frowned, looking Logan over with eyes that seemed to look right through him. Eyes that showed concern, care, tenderness, but no fear. No apprehension. Peter wasn't scared of Logan, of what he could do. Of what he'd done in the past. Of what he just almost did.
After a few long seconds of staring, Peter gently reached out to the hand that had had Logan's claws extended and pulled it closer to his face, placing a gentle kiss on the space between the knuckles, where Logan's claws had cut the skin. It made Logan's breath catch in his throat, his eyes suddenly misty and burning with unshed tears. Peter didn't know what he was, what he'd done. Peter didn't know he was being kind to a monster, a wild animal.
Logan tried to tug his hand away, but Peter was stronger than he looked because he didn't let go, even with a rougher tug. “Logan.”
The older man let out the breath he'd been holding, a sharp growl cutting out of him, and Peter sighed, finally letting go of Logan's hand. “it's okay.” Peter spoke, looking back up at Logan, right in the eyes, with nothing but care and determination.
“Whatever it is that your brain is saying, it's lying, okay?” Peter spoke, as if he could hear Logan's thoughts as clearly as Logan himself could. And maybe he could, Logan wasn't convinced the kid couldn't read minds. Or maybe dealing with Wade's brand of crazy prepared him for all types of crazy. Either way, Logan just growled deep, a little louder, backing away from Peter. “the fuck it ain't. You don't know shit, kid.” Logan growled.
Peter kept looking Logan dead in the eyes, not backing up. But he didn't get closer either. “I know more than you think. I know what it looks like when someone receives kindness when they don't believe they deserve it and believe they must reject it. I know, because I used to see it in the mirror every day for years. Wade cares about us regardless of that. He will love us no matter what we've done, or what we're gonna do in the future, and he does it simply because he wants to. He won't change his mind about either of us, and neither will I. You're welcome here. Please don't pull away. We'll just tie you down and cuddle the sad out of you by force if you do.” Peter murmured, the last part with a small smile.
Logan huffed, looking away. “you'd think differently if you knew what I've done.” he growled quietly. Peter shrugged. “Then tell me. I have time.” he simply said, moving to sit on top of the kitchen table, lightly letting his legs dangle.
Logan just looked at Peter incredulously, fists and jaw clenched tight, breathing still fast and ragged.
“I… I Killed a lot of people, bub. A lot. Innocent people, too.” Logan growled, looking at Peter with a challenge in his eyes. Peter looked back unwavering. “Okay. I killed my girlfriend. I killed my best friend. I got other people killed too. My fiance is a mercenary. He kills people for fun and money. I work at Stark industries in the Avengers R&D department. They've killed people. Innocent people too.” Peter just told Logan casually, though from the tension in his shoulders it was clear he felt bad about all of it.
“You hate yourself for the deaths, don't you?” Peter then asked. Logan slowly nodded, and Peter shrugged again.
“so the position has already been filled. Why would I hate you for something you already hate yourself for? Seems counter productive. And just because you did bad things doesn't mean you can't be redeemed. You and Wade saved the whole multiverse together. I think that counts for plenty. You might have fucked up one universe, but you saved countless others right?” Peter simply said, getting down from the table to make himself coffee.
“Wade has done plenty of bad, and still he is loved and cared for. You can be too, if you let us. Please let us?”
Logan just watched Peter make coffee for a long moment without saying anything, then finally let his shoulders sag and looked away, arms loosely wrapped around himself. “I guess… I can try. For now.” Peter nodded and stepped closer to Logan, handing him a cup of coffee. It was a black widow mug. Peter had two more mugs in his hand. A Spiderman mug and an iron man mug.
“Come on. Let's bully Wade into playing a card game. I figure a game of poker is more your speed, right? I think we still have a large bag of m&m's to use for poker chips.”
Logan sighed but nodded, following Peter into the living room and back to the couch where Wade had already put a deck of cards on the table and had turned on the golden girls for background noise. It seemed he'd heard their talk, judging from the way he was quietly smiling to himself with misty eyes too. When Peter handed Wade the Spiderman mug Wade grinned up at him. “aww! My favorite!” he exclaimed, bouncing up to give Peter a loud kiss on the cheek, then went to do the same with Logan before pulling him to the table. “Come on! We're using my very special limited edition Pokémon card deck! I totally stole it from a child but that child didn't appreciate what he had and I do, therefore I deserve to have it.” Wade exclaimed as Logan was pushed down to sit on the ground by the coffee table next to Peter who had somehow acquired a blanket which was now draped over his shoulders. He also had the bag of m&m's in his hand and placed it on the table. Huh, when had he grabbed those?
They ended up playing poker for hours, with Logan thoroughly beating both their asses easily. Neither of the two other men seemed to mind though, Wade being used to losing games and Peter just wanting Logan to have a good time.
[❤️💙💛]
After hours of poker, and with all three of their bellies full of various snacks that were used as currency, they all had ended up on the couch watching golden girls for a bit until Wade dozed off with his face buried in Logan's chest. Peter was sitting on top of Wade and had dozed off a while ago, curled up in a little ball with his face pressed against the back rest of the couch. Logan was the only one left awake and he looked at the other two with just a hint of a smile before he sighed. Time to get these two into bed. He carefully picked up Peter first, who remained curled up in a little ball in Logan's hands, snoozing eerily quietly. Logan carried him to Wade and Peter's room and put him on the bed, then went and got Wade too, carrying him next.
Wade lightly opened his eyes with a confused little noise, looking up at Logan in sleepy confusion, then hummed in understanding once he was gently put down on the bed. Logan moved to leave, but Wade was faster and Wade yanked him down into the bed with them, which caused Peter to wake up from all the movement. Peter just shrugged though and snuggled himself into Logan's chest with a smile, right as Wade pressed himself along Logan's back. They were so in sync with each other they literally relaxed against Logan at the exact same time, both smiling at Logan's tenseness. “it's fine. Sleep.” Peter murmured into Logan's pecs, while Wade nuzzled the back of Logan's head. “night, peanut.”
Logan fell asleep faster and slept better that night than he had in a long time.
